¹Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my meditation.

¹{Načelniku godbe; s piščalmi. Psalm Davidov.} Besede moje čuj, GOSPOD, ozri se na premišljevanje moje.

²Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray.

²Poslušaj vpitja mojega glas, Kralj moj in Bog moj, kajti k tebi molim.

³My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

³GOSPOD, zgodaj boš slišal glas moj, zgodaj položim prošnjo pred teboj in bom čakal.

⁴For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee.

⁴Ker ti nisi Bog mogočni, ki bi mu bila všeč brezbožnost, hudobnež ne sme bivati pred teboj.

⁵The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity.

⁵Samohvalniki ne zdrže pred očmi tvojimi, sovražiš vse, ki delajo krivico.

⁶Thou shalt destroy them that speak leasing: the LORD will abhor the bloody and deceitful man.

⁶Pogubiš nje, ki govore laž; moža krvoželjnega in zvijačnega mrzi GOSPOD.

⁷But as for me, I will come into thy house in the multitude of thy mercy: and in thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple.

⁷Jaz pa vnidem, obdan z obilostjo milosti tvoje, v hišo tvojo, priklonim se proti hramu svetosti tvoje v svetem strahu tvojem.

⁸Lead me, O LORD, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face.

⁸GOSPOD, vodi me v pravičnosti svoji zavoljo zalezovalcev mojih, ravno stóri pot svojo pred menoj.

⁹For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is very wickedness; their throat is an open sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue.

⁹Zakaj v njih ustih ni nič resničnega, njih notranjost je poguba, grob odprt njih grlo, z jezikom svojim se dobrikajo zvijačno.

¹⁰Destroy thou them, O God; let them fall by their own counsels; cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions; for they have rebelled against thee.

¹⁰Pokori jih, o Bog, padejo naj po naklepih svojih; pahni jih doli v obilosti njih pregreh, ker se upirajo zoper tebe.

¹¹But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.

¹¹In veselili se bodo vsi, ki pribegajo k tebi, in na veke bodo prepevali, ker si jim bramba, in radovali se bodo v tebi ljubitelji tvojega imena.Zakaj ti blagoslavljaš pravičnega, ti, GOSPOD, delaš, da ga milost krije kakor ščit.
