¹If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,

¹POR tanto, si hay alguna consolación en Cristo; si algún refrigerio de amor; si alguna comunión del Espíritu; si algunas entrañas y misericordias,

²Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.

²Cumplid mi gozo; que sintáis lo mismo, teniendo el mismo amor, unánimes, sintiendo una misma cosa.

³Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.

³Nada hagáis por contienda ó por vanagloria; antes bien en humildad, estimándoos inferiores los unos á los otros:

⁴Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.

⁴No mirando cada uno á lo suyo propio, sino cada cual también á lo de los otros.

⁵Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

⁵Haya, pues, en vosotros este sentir que hubo también en Cristo Jesús:

⁶Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

⁶El cual, siendo en forma de Dios, no tuvo por usurpación ser igual á Dios:

⁷But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

⁷Sin embargo, se anonadó á sí mismo, tomando forma de siervo, hecho semejante á los hombres;

⁸And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

⁸Y hallado en la condición como hombre, se humilló á sí mismo, hecho obediente hasta la muerte, y muerte de cruz.

⁹Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

⁹Por lo cual Dios también le ensalzó á lo sumo, y dióle un nombre que es sobre todo nombre;

¹⁰That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

¹⁰Para que en el nombre de Jesús se doble toda rodilla de los que están en los cielos, y de los que en la tierra, y de los que debajo de la tierra;

¹¹And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

¹¹Y toda lengua confiese que Jesucristo es el Señor, á la gloria de Dios Padre.

¹²Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

¹²Por tanto, amados míos, como siempre habéis obedecido, no como en mi presencia solamente, sino mucho más ahora en mi ausencia, ocupaos en vuestra salvación con temor y temblor;

¹³For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

¹³Porque Dios es el que en vosotros obra así el querer como el hacer, por su buena voluntad.

¹⁴Do all things without murmurings and disputings:

¹⁴Haced todo sin murmuraciones y contiendas,

¹⁵That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;

¹⁵Para que seáis irreprensibles y sencillos, hijos de Dios sin culpa en medio de la nación maligna y perversa, entre los cuales resplandecéis como luminares en el mundo;

¹⁶Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.

¹⁶Reteniendo la palabra de vida para que yo pueda gloriarme en el día de Cristo, que no he corrido en vano, ni trabajado en vano.

¹⁷Yea, and if I be offered upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I joy, and rejoice with you all.

¹⁷Y aun si soy derramado en libación sobre el sacrificio y servicio de vuestra fe, me gozo y congratulo por todos vosotros.

¹⁸For the same cause also do ye joy, and rejoice with me.

¹⁸Y asimismo gozaos también vosotros, y regocijaos conmigo.

¹⁹But I trust in the Lord Jesus to send Timotheus shortly unto you, that I also may be of good comfort, when I know your state.

¹⁹Mas espero en el Señor Jesús enviaros presto á Timoteo, para que yo también esté de buen ánimo, entendido vuestro estado.

²⁰For I have no man likeminded, who will naturally care for your state.

²⁰Porque á ninguno tengo tan unánime, y que con sincera afición esté solícito por vosotros.

²¹For all seek their own, not the things which are Jesus Christ's.

²¹Porque todos buscan lo suyo propio, no lo que es de Cristo Jesús.

²²But ye know the proof of him, that, as a son with the father, he hath served with me in the gospel.

²²Pero la experiencia de él habéis conocido, que como hijo á padre ha servido conmigo en el evangelio.

²³Him therefore I hope to send presently, so soon as I shall see how it will go with me.

²³Así que á éste espero enviaros, luego que yo viere cómo van mis negocios;

²⁴But I trust in the Lord that I also myself shall come shortly.

²⁴Y confío en el Señor que yo también iré presto á vosotros.

²⁵Yet I supposed it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, and companion in labour, and fellowsoldier, but your messenger, and he that ministered to my wants.

²⁵Mas tuve por cosa necesaria enviaros á Epafrodito, mi hermano, y colaborador y compañero de milicia, y vuestro mensajero, y ministrador de mis necesidades;

²⁶For he longed after you all, and was full of heaviness, because that ye had heard that he had been sick.

²⁶Porque tenía gran deseo de ver á todos vosotros, y gravemente se angustió porque habíais oído que había enfermado.

²⁷For indeed he was sick nigh unto death: but God had mercy on him; and not on him only, but on me also, lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow.

²⁷Pues en verdad estuvo enfermo á la muerte: mas Dios tuvo misericordia de él; y no solamente de él, sino aun de mí, para que yo no tuviese tristeza sobre tristeza.

²⁸I sent him therefore the more carefully, that, when ye see him again, ye may rejoice, and that I may be the less sorrowful.

²⁸Así que le envío más presto, para que viéndole os volváis á gozar, y yo esté con menos tristeza.

²⁹Receive him therefore in the Lord with all gladness; and hold such in reputation:

²⁹Recibidle pues en el Señor con todo gozo; y tened en estima á los tales:

³⁰Because for the work of Christ he was nigh unto death, not regarding his life, to supply your lack of service toward me.

³⁰Porque por la obra de Cristo estuvo cercano á la muerte, poniendo su vida para suplir vuestra falta en mi servicio.
