¹And the LORD spake unto Moses in the plains of Moab by Jordan near Jericho, saying,

¹ Rabbi salaŋ Musa se waato kaŋ jama go Mowab batama ra, Urdun jarga, naŋ kaŋ boro ga Yeriko fonnay. A ne:

²Command the children of Israel, that they give unto the Levites of the inheritance of their possession cities to dwell in; and ye shall give also unto the Levites suburbs for the cities round about them.

² «Ma ci Israyla izey se ka ne i ma kwaarayaŋ no Lawitey se i tubey ra, i ma goro i ra se. Kuray nanguyaŋ mo kwaarey windanta, i m'i no Lawitey se.

³And the cities shall they have to dwell in; and the suburbs of them shall be for their cattle, and for their goods, and for all their beasts.

³ Kwaarey din ra no i ga goro. I saajey mo ga ciya i hawey kuray se, d'i alman cindey kulu mo se.

⁴And the suburbs of the cities, which ye shall give unto the Levites, shall reach from the wall of the city and outward a thousand cubits round about.

⁴ Kwaarey din kuray saajey mo, kaŋ yaŋ araŋ ga no Lawitey se, i m'i neesi za kwaara birni cinaro gaa ka koy kwaara banda kambe kar zambar fo a casanta kuray kulu.

⁵And ye shall measure from without the city on the east side two thousand cubits, and on the south side two thousand cubits, and on the west side two thousand cubits, and on the north side two thousand cubits; and the city shall be in the midst: this shall be to them the suburbs of the cities.

⁵ Danga, araŋ ma neesi kwaara banda kambe kar zambar hinka wayna funay haray, kamba kar zambar hinka dandi kamba haray, kambe kar zambar hinka wayna kaŋay haray, da kambe kar zambar hinka azawa kambe haray. Kwaara mo ma goro bindo ra. Woodin yaŋ no ga ciya i kwaara se kuray nangey.

⁶And among the cities which ye shall give unto the Levites there shall be six cities for refuge, which ye shall appoint for the manslayer, that he may flee thither: and to them ye shall add forty and two cities.

⁶ Kwaarey kaŋ yaŋ araŋ ga no Lawitey se mo, i ra iddu ma ciya tuguyaŋ kwaara yaŋ, kaŋ yaŋ araŋ ga no hala boro-wi ma zuru ka koy i do. Araŋ ma Lawitey no mo kwaara waytaaci cindi hinka koyne ka tonton.

⁷So all the cities which ye shall give to the Levites shall be forty and eight cities: them shall ye give with their suburbs.

⁷ Kwaarey kulu kaŋ yaŋ araŋ ga no Lawitey se mo, kwaara waytaaci cindi ahakku no, ngey nda ngey kuray nangey.

⁸And the cities which ye shall give shall be of the possession of the children of Israel: from them that have many ye shall give many; but from them that have few ye shall give few: every one shall give of his cities unto the Levites according to his inheritance which he inheriteth.

⁸ Kwaarey din kaŋ yaŋ araŋ ga suuban Israyla izey tubey ra ka no, boro boobo gaa araŋ ma ta iboobo, boro ciraariyaŋ mo gaa araŋ ma ta ikayna. Boro kulu, nga tubo baayaŋo kaŋ a du boŋ no a ga nga kwaarey no Lawitey se.»

⁹And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

⁹ Rabbi salaŋ Musa se ka ne:

¹⁰Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come over Jordan into the land of Canaan;

¹⁰ «Ma salaŋ Israyla izey se ka ne: D'araŋ na Urdun daŋandi ka furo Kanaana laabo ra,

¹¹Then ye shall appoint you cities to be cities of refuge for you; that the slayer may flee thither, which killeth any person at unawares.

¹¹ kal araŋ ma kwaarayaŋ suuban. I ga ciya tuguyaŋ kwaarayaŋ araŋ se, hala boro-wi kaŋ mana haw k'a te ma zuru ka koy noodin.

¹²And they shall be unto you cities for refuge from the avenger; that the manslayer die not, until he stand before the congregation in judgment.

¹² Kwaarey din ga ciya araŋ se tuguyaŋ nangu do ka faaba daw* banako kambe, zama boro-wiyo ma si bu za a mana kay jama jine ciiti se.

¹³And of these cities which ye shall give six cities shall ye have for refuge.

¹³ Kwaarey kaŋ araŋ ga no yaŋ mo ga ciya araŋ se tuguyaŋ kwaara iddu.

¹⁴Ye shall give three cities on this side Jordan, and three cities shall ye give in the land of Canaan, which shall be cities of refuge.

¹⁴ Araŋ ma kwaara hinza no Urdun se ne-haray, Kanaana laabo mo ra kwaara hinza. I ga ciya tuguyaŋ kwaarayaŋ.

¹⁵These six cities shall be a refuge, both for the children of Israel, and for the stranger, and for the sojourner among them: that every one that killeth any person unawares may flee thither.

¹⁵ Kwaara iddo wo ga ciya tuguyaŋ nanguyaŋ Israyla izey se da yawey kaŋ yaŋ ga goro i game ra mo se. Boro kulu kaŋ na boro wi, kaŋ manti a haw k'a te no, a koy ga du ka zuru ka koy ka tugu noodin.

¹⁶And if he smite him with an instrument of iron, so that he die, he is a murderer: the murderer shall surely be put to death.

¹⁶ Amma d'a n'a kar da jinay fo kaŋ guuru no hal a ma bu se, boro-wi no kaŋ haw k'a te. Boro-wi woodin dumi, daahir i g'a koy wi no.

¹⁷And if he smite him with throwing a stone, wherewith he may die, and he die, he is a murderer: the murderer shall surely be put to death.

¹⁷ Da tondi mo no a sambu nga kambe ra kaŋ ga hin ka boro wi, k'a kar d'a, hala bora bu mo, boro-wi no kaŋ haw k'a te. Boro-wi woodin dumi mo, daahir i g'a wi no.

¹⁸Or if he smite him with an hand weapon of wood, wherewith he may die, and he die, he is a murderer: the murderer shall surely be put to death.

¹⁸ Wala mo d'a na hay fo sambu nga kambe ra kaŋ bundu no k'a kar d'a, mate kaŋ cine a ga boro wi, hal a bu mo, boro-wi no. Boro-wi woodin dumi mo, daahir i g'a wi.

¹⁹The revenger of blood himself shall slay the murderer: when he meeteth him, he shall slay him.

¹⁹ Daw banakwa bumbo ma boro-wiyo din wi. Waati kulu kaŋ a kuband'a, a m'a wi.

²⁰But if he thrust him of hatred, or hurl at him by laying of wait, that he die;

²⁰ Da bora na boro fo hay konnari sabbay se, wala d'a tugu k'a catu hal a bu,

²¹Or in enmity smite him with his hand, that he die: he that smote him shall surely be put to death; for he is a murderer: the revenger of blood shall slay the murderer, when he meeteth him.

²¹ wala nd'a n'a kar da kambe koonu ibaretaray sabbay se, hal a bu mo, daahir i ga karkwa wi. Zama boro-wi no kaŋ haw k'a te. Da daw banakwa kubay da boro-wiyo, kulu a g'a wi.

²²But if he thrust him suddenly without enmity, or have cast upon him any thing without laying of wait,

²² Amma da jaŋ-ka-bay ra no a n'a hay, ibaretaray si no, wala a m'a catu nda hay fo kaŋ manti a tugu k'a catu no,

²³Or with any stone, wherewith a man may die, seeing him not, and cast it upon him, that he die, and was not his enemy, neither sought his harm:

²³ wala a na boro fo catu nda tondi kaŋ ga hin ka boro wi, hal a bu mo, amma a mana di a, a manti a ibare mo no, wala a mana haw nga ma hasarawo te a se,

²⁴Then the congregation shall judge between the slayer and the revenger of blood according to these judgments:

²⁴ waato din gaa jama ga ciito kaa taray karkwa da daw banakwa game ra farilla woone boŋ:

²⁵And the congregation shall deliver the slayer out of the hand of the revenger of blood, and the congregation shall restore him to the city of his refuge, whither he was fled: and he shall abide in it unto the death of the high priest, which was anointed with the holy oil.

²⁶But if the slayer shall at any time come without the border of the city of his refuge, whither he was fled;

²⁷And the revenger of blood find him without the borders of the city of his refuge, and the revenger of blood kill the slayer; he shall not be guilty of blood:

²⁷ hala day daw banakwa n'a gar nga tuguyaŋ kwaara hirro banda, daw banakwa mo na boro-wiyo kar k'a wi, kulu i s'a lasaabu kuro se taali, sanda kuri alhakko go a boŋ nooya.

²⁸Because he should have remained in the city of his refuge until the death of the high priest: but after the death of the high priest the slayer shall return into the land of his possession.

²⁸ Zama doŋ boro-wiyo ma goro nga tuguyaŋ kwaara ra hala waati kaŋ alfaga beero bu. Amma alfaga beero buuyaŋo banda, boro-wiyo ga hin ka ye nga tubuyaŋ laabo ra.

²⁹So these things shall be for a statute of judgment unto you throughout your generations in all your dwellings.

²⁹ Haray din kulu ga goro araŋ se ciiti fondo sanni yaŋ araŋ zamaney kulu ra, nangu kulu kaŋ araŋ ga goro.

³⁰Whoso killeth any person, the murderer shall be put to death by the mouth of witnesses: but one witness shall not testify against any person to cause him to die.

³⁰ Boro kulu kaŋ na boro fo wi, danga boro-wi kaŋ haw k'a te, i m'a wi seedayaŋ sanni boŋ. Amma boro folloŋ si te seeda boro fo boŋ hal i m'a wi.

³¹Moreover ye shall take no satisfaction for the life of a murderer, which is guilty of death: but he shall be surely put to death.

³¹ Araŋ ma si fansa hari kulu ta mo boro-wiyo kaŋ to buuyaŋ gaa k'a naŋ da fundi. Daahir i ga bora din wi no.

³²And ye shall take no satisfaction for him that is fled to the city of his refuge, that he should come again to dwell in the land, until the death of the priest.

³² Boro kaŋ zuru ka koy nga tuguyaŋ kwaara do mo, araŋ ma si fansa hari kulu ta a gaa, k'a naŋ a ma fatta ka koy goro nga tubo ra. Kala nda alfaga beero bu, gaa no a ga fatta.

³³So ye shall not pollute the land wherein ye are: for blood it defileth the land: and the land cannot be cleansed of the blood that is shed therein, but by the blood of him that shed it.

³³ Yaadin no araŋ ga te hala araŋ ma si laabo kaŋ ra araŋ ga goro din ziibandi, zama kuri ga laabo ciya harram. I si du ka sasabandiyaŋ sargay kulu te laabu kaŋ ra i na boro kuri mun se, da manti bora kaŋ na kuri munyaŋo te din kuro no.

³⁴Defile not therefore the land which ye shall inhabit, wherein I dwell: for I the LORD dwell among the children of Israel.

³⁴ Laabo kaŋ ra araŋ ga goro din, kaŋ a bindo ra no ay mo ga goro, araŋ ma s'a ziibandi, zama ay wo, Rabbi, ay go Israyla izey game ra ga goro.»
