1And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there:
1På tredje dagen var ett bröllop i Kana i Galileen, och Jesu moder var där.
2And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage.
2Också Jesus och hans lärjungar blevo bjudna till bröllopet.
3And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.
3Och vinet begynte taga slut. Då sade Jesu moder till honom: »De hava intet vin.»
4Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.
4Jesus svarade henne: »Låt mig vara, moder; min stund är ännu icke kommen.»
5His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.
5Hans moder sade då till tjänarna: »Vadhelst han säger till eder, det skolen I göra.»
6And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece.
6Nu stodo där sex stenkrukor, sådana som judarna hade för sina reningar; de rymde två eller tre bat-mått var.
7Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.
7Jesus sade till dem: »Fyllen krukorna med vatten.» Och de fyllde dem ända till brädden.
8And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it.
8Sedan sade han till dem: »Ösen nu upp och bären till övertjänaren.» Och de gjorde så.
9When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom,
9Och övertjänaren smakade på vattnet, som nu hade blivit vin; och han visste icke varifrån det hade kommit, vilket däremot tjänarna visste, de som hade öst upp vattnet. Då kallade övertjänaren på brudgummen.
10And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now.
10och sade till honom: »Man brukar eljest alltid sätta fram det goda vinet, och sedan, när gästerna hava fått för mycket, det som är sämre. Du har gömt det goda vinet ända tills nu.»
11This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.
11Detta var det första tecknet som Jesus gjorde. Han gjorde det i Kana i Galileen och uppenbarade så sin härlighet; och hans lärjungar trodde på honom.
12After this he went down to Capernaum, he, and his mother, and his brethren, and his disciples: and they continued there not many days.
12Därefter begav han sig ned till Kapernaum med sin moder och sina bröder och sina lärjungar; och där stannade de några få dagar.
13And the Jews' passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
13Judarnas påsk var nu nära, och Jesus begav sig då upp till Jerusalem.
14And found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting:
14Och när han fick i helgedomen se huru där sutto män som sålde fäkreatur och får och duvor, och huru växlare sutto där.
15And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers' money, and overthrew the tables;
15Då gjorde han sig ett gissel av tåg och drev dem alla ut ur helgedomen, med får och fäkreatur, och slog ut växlarnas penningar och stötte omkull deras bord.
16And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father's house an house of merchandise.
16Och till duvomånglarna sade han: »Tagen bort detta härifrån; gören icke min Faders hus till ett marknadshus.»
17And his disciples remembered that it was written, The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up.
17Hans lärjungar kommo då ihåg att det var skrivet: »Nitälskan för ditt hus skall förtära mig.»
18Then answered the Jews and said unto him, What sign shewest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things?
18Då togo judarna till orda och sade till honom: »Vad för tecken låter du oss se, eftersom du gör på detta sätt?»
19Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.
19Jesus svarade och sade till dem: »Bryten ned detta tempel, så skall jag inom tre dagar låta det uppstå igen.»
20Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days?
20Då sade judarna: »I fyrtiosex år har man byggt på detta tempel, och du skulle låta det uppstå igen inom tre dagar?»
21But he spake of the temple of his body.
21Men det var om sin kropps tempel han talade.
22When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.
22Sedan, när han hade uppstått från de döda, kommo hans lärjungar ihåg att han hade sagt detta; och de trodde då skriften och det ord som Jesus hade sagt.
23Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, in the feast day, many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he did.
23Medan han nu var i Jerusalem, under påsken, vid högtiden, kommo många till tro på hans namn, när de sågo de tecken som han gjorde.
24But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men,
24Men själv betrodde sig Jesus icke åt dem, eftersom han kände alla
25And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.
25och icke behövde någon annans vittnesbörd om människorna; ty av sig själv visste han vad i människan var.
