¹Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy.

¹ДАР паи муҳаббат бошед; иштиёкманди бахшоишҳои рӯҳонӣ, аллалхусус нубувват бошед.

²For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.

²Зеро касе ки ба забоне сухан меронад, вай на ба одамон, балки ба Худо сухан меронад, чунки ҳеҷ кас намефаҳмад: вай бар тибқи рӯҳ асрорро ба забон меоварад;

³But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort.

³Аммо касе ки нубувват мекунад, вай ба одамон баронобод кардан ва насиҳату тассаллй додан сухан меронад.

⁴He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.

⁴Касе ки ба забоне сухан меронад, вай худашро обод мекунад; аммо касе ки нубувват мекунад, вай калисоро обод мекунад.

⁵I would that ye all spake with tongues but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying.

⁵Мехоҳам, Ки ҳамаатон ба забонҳо сухан ронед; лекин беҳтар аст, ки нубувват кунед, зеро касе ки нубувват мекунад, бузургтар аст аз касе ки ба забонҳо сухан меронад, магар ки вай дар айни ҳол маънидод ҳам кунад, то калисо обод шавад.

⁶Now, brethren, if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, except I shall speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine?

⁶Ва акнун, эй бародарон, агар назди шумо биёям ва ба забопҳо сухан ронам, чӣ нафъе ба шумо мерасонам, магар ин ки бо ваҳйе, ё донише, ё нубуввате, ё таълиме ба шумо сухан рокам?

⁷And even things without life giving sound, whether pipe or harp, except they give a distinction in the sounds, how shall it be known what is piped or harped?

⁷Аммо агар асбоби беҷони садодиҳанда, наи е чанг, садоҳои аз ҳам ҷудо набарорад, кас чӣ тавр мефаҳмад, ки бо най ё чанг чӣ оҳанге менавозанд?

⁸For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?

⁸Ва агар карнай садои номуаӣяне барорад, кӣ ба ҳарбу зарб омода мешавад?

⁹So likewise ye, except ye utter by the tongue words easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken? for ye shall speak into the air.

⁹Ҳамчунин агар шумо суханони норавшане ба забон ронед, чй тавр мефаҳманд, ки шумо чӣ мегӯед? Шумо ба ҳаво сухан хоҳед ронд.

¹⁰There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification.

¹⁰Масалан, дар дуньё чӣ қадар калимаҳои гуногун ҳаст, ва ҳеҷ яке аз онҳо бе маъно несг;

¹¹Therefore if I know not the meaning of the voice, I shall be unto him that speaketh a barbarian, and he that speaketh shall be a barbarian unto me.

¹¹Аммо, агар ман маънои калимаҳоро надонам, ман барои гӯянда аҷнабӣ ҳастам, ва гӯянда барои ман аҷнабист.

¹²Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church.

¹²Ҳамчунин шумо, ки иштиёқманди бахшоишҳои рӯҳонй ҳастед, саъю кӯшиш намоед, ки аз онҳо барои ободии калисо бой шавед.

¹³Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret.

¹³Бинобар ин касе ки ба забоне сухан меронад, бигзор дар бораи тафсири он тақозо кунад.

¹⁴For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.

¹⁴Зеро, вақте ки ман ба забоне дуо мегӯям, рӯҳам дуо мегӯяд, лекин ақлам бе самар мемонад.

¹⁵What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.

¹⁵Пас чӣ бояд кард? Бо рӯҳ дуо хоҳам гуфт, бо ақл низ дуо хоҳам гуфт; бо рӯҳ суруд хоҳам хонд, бо ақл низ суруд хоҳам хонд.

¹⁶Else when thou shalt bless with the spirit, how shall he that occupieth the room of the unlearned say Amen at thy giving of thanks, seeing he understandeth not what thou sayest?

¹⁶Зеро, агар ту бо рӯҳ баракат Диҳӣ, бехабаре ки дар он ҷо истода бошад, дар вақти шукргузории ту чӣ тавр "омин" гӯяд? Зеро ӯ он чиро, ки ту мегӯй, намефаҳмад.

¹⁷For thou verily givest thanks well, but the other is not edified.

¹⁷Ту нағз шукргузорй мекунй, лекин каси дигар обод намешавад.

¹⁸I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all:

¹⁸Худоямро шукр мегӯям, ки ман бештар аз ҳамаи шумо ба забонҳо сухан меронам;

¹⁹Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue.

¹⁹Лекин дар калисо гуфтани панҷ калимаро бо ақли худ, то ки дигаронро насиҳат кунам, афзал медонам аз он ки як олам калимаро ба забоне бигӯям.

²⁰Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men.

²⁰Эй бародарон! Дар ақл мисли кӯдакон набошед; нисбат ба шарорат чун навзодон рафтор кунед, лекин дар ақл болиғ бошед.

²¹In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord.

²¹Дар Таврот навишта шудааст: "Бо забонҳои дигар ва лабҳои дигар ба ин қавм сухан ҳоҳам ронд, лекин дар он вақт ҳам Маро нахоҳанд шунид, мегӯяд Худованд".

²²Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.

²²Пас забонҳо аломат аст на барои имондорон, балки барои беимонон; аммо нубувват на барои беимонон, балки барои имондорон аст.

²³If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad?

²³Агар тамоми аҳли калисо дар як ҷо ҷамъ шаванд, ва ҳама ба забонҳо сухан ронанд, ва бехабарон ё беимонон дароянд, - оё онҳо намегӯянд, ки шумо девона шудаед?

²⁴But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not, or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all:

²⁴Аммо вақте ки ҳама нубувват мекунанд, ва каси беимоне ё бехабаре медарояд, вай ба воситаи ҳама маҳкум мешавад, ба воситаи ҳама доварӣ карда мешавад,

²⁵And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth.

²⁵Ва асрори дилаш ошкор мегардад; бинобар ин ӯ рӯй ба замин нихода, ба Худо саҷда мекунаду мегӯяд. "Ҳақиқатан Худо бо шумост".

²⁶How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.

²⁶Пас, эй бародарон, чӣ бояд кард? Вақте ки шумо ҷамъ мешавед, ва ҳар яке аз шумо таронае аз Забур, ё насиҳате, ё забоне, е ваҳйе, ё тафсире дорад, - бигзор ҳамааш барои обод кардан бошад.

²⁷If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret.

²⁷Агар касе ба забоне сухан меронда бошад, ду нафар, ё бисьёраш се нафар, он ҳам ҷудоҷудо, сухан ронед, ва касе тафсир кунад.

²⁸But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.

²⁸Ва агар тафсиркунанда набошад, бигзор соҳиби сухан дар калисо хомӯш монад, ё ба худаш ва ба Худо сухан гӯяд.

²⁹Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge.

²⁹Ва аз анбиё бигзор ду ё се нафар сухан ронанд, ва дигарон муҳокима кунанд;

³⁰If any thing be revealed to another that sitteth by, let the first hold his peace.

³⁰Аммо агар ба каси дигаре аз нишастагон ваҳй ояд, бигзор аввалин хомӯш шавад.

³¹For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted.

³¹Зеро ҳама паи ҳам метавонед нубувват кунед, то ки ҳалта таълим гиранд ва ҳама тасаллӣ ёбанд.

³²And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.

³²Ва арвоҳи анбиё ба фармони анбиё мебошанд,

³³For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

³³Чунки Худо Худои ҳарҷумарҷ нест, балки Худои осоиштагист. Дар ҳамаи калксоҳои муқаддасон ҳамин тавр аст.

³⁴Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law.

³⁴Бигзор занони шумо дар калисоҳо хомӯщ бошанд; зеро ҷоиз нест, ки сухан ронанд, балки бояд мутеъ бошанд, чунон ки Таврот низ мегӯяд.

³⁵And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

³⁵Лекин агар онҳо хоҳанд чизе ёд гиранд, бигзор дар хона аз шавҳари худ бипурсанд; зеро ки дар калисо сухан рондани зан аз рӯи одоб нест.

³⁶What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only?

³⁶Магар каломи Худо аз шумо баромадааст? Ё ки он танҳо ба шумо расидааст?

³⁷If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.

³⁷Агар касе худро набй ё рӯҳонӣ ҳисоб кунад, вай бигзор бифаҳмад, ки он чи ман ба шумо менависам, аҳкоми Худованд аст;

³⁸But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant.

³⁸Ва агар касе нафаҳмад, бигзор нафаҳмад.

³⁹Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues.

³⁹Хуллас, эй бародарон, ищтиёқманди он бощед, ки нубувват кунед, ва ба забонҳо сухан ронданро манъ накунед;

⁴⁰Let all things be done decently and in order.

⁴⁰Лекин ҳамааш бояд бо тартибу интизом ба амал ояд.
