¹Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:

¹ШИМЪӮНИ Петрус, ки банда ва ҳаввории Исои Масеҳ аст, ба онҳое ки имони гаронбаҳоро мисли имони мо дар адолати Худои мо ва Исои Масеҳи Наҷотдиҳанда қабул кардаанд:

²Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,

²Файз ва осоинхгагӣ дар ышнохтани Худо ва Исои Худованди мо бар шумо фаровон бод.

³According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

³Азбаски куввати илоҳии Ӯ ҳамаи чизҳои барои ҳаёт ва ларҳезгорй зарурро ба мо бахшидааст, ба воситаи щинохтани Ӯ, ки моро бо ҷалол ва камоли Худ даъват намудааст,

⁴Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

⁴Ки бо онҳо ба мо ваъдаҳои бузург ва гаронбаҳо дода щудааст, то ки шумо ба воситаи онҳо шарики табиати илоҳӣ гардида, аз фасоди шаҳват, ки дар ҷаҳон ҳукмфармост, дур шавед, -

⁵And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;

⁵Бинобар ин шумо тамоми ҷидду ҷаҳди худро ба кор бурда, ба имони худ некӯкориро изофа намоед, ба некӯкорӣ - хирадмандиро,

⁶And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;

⁶Ба хирадмандӣ - порсоиро, ба порсоӣ - тоқатро, ба тоқат - парҳезгориро,

⁷And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.

⁷Ба парҳезгорӣ - бародардӯстиро ва ба бародардӯстӣ - муҳаббатро.

⁸For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

⁸Агар ин сифот дар шумо ёфт шавад ва афзоиш ёбад, щумо дар шинохтани Худованди мо Исои Масеҳ бе муваффақият ва бе самар нахоҳед монд,

⁹But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

⁹Вале дар ҳар кй ин сифот ёфт нашавад, вай кӯр аст, яъне чашмонашро пӯшида, фаромӯш кардааст, ки гуноҳҳои пештараи ӯ татҳир шудаанд.

¹⁰Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:

¹⁰Аз ин рӯ, эй бародарон, беш аз пеш саъю кӯшиш намоед, ки даъват ва интихоби худро устувор гардонед ва агар ҳамии тавр рафтор кунед, ҳаргиз пешпо нахоҳед хӯрд,

¹¹For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

¹¹Зеро ки бо чунин роҳ даромадгоҳи Малакути абадии Худованд ва Наҷотдиҳандаи мо Исои Масеҳ барои шумо бемалол кушода хоҳад шуд.

¹²Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth.

¹²Барои ҳамин ман ба ёди шумо овардани инро ҳаргиз бас намекунам, гарчанде ки шумо инро медонед ва дар ин ростӣ устувор ҳастед.

¹³Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance;

¹³Аммо ман салоҳ медонам, то даме ки дар ин хайма ҳастам, шуморо бо ёдоварӣ таҳрик диҳам,

¹⁴Knowing that shortly I must put off this my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ hath shewed me.

¹⁴Чун медонам, ки ба қарибӣ бояд хаймаи худро тарк кунам, чунон ки Худованди мо Исои Масеҳ ба ман эълон намудааст.

¹⁵Moreover I will endeavour that ye may be able after my decease to have these things always in remembrance.

¹⁵Ва саъю кӯшищ хоҳам кард, ки шумо пас аз риҳлатам низ ҳамеша инро ба ёд оваред.

¹⁶For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.

¹⁶Зеро, ҳангоме ки мо кувват ва омадани Худованди мо Исои Масеҳро ба шумо хабар додем, аз паи афсонаҳои фиребгарона нарафтаем, балки кибриёи Ӯро бо чашми худ дидаем.

¹⁷For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

¹⁷Зеро ки Ӯ аз Худои Падар шавкат ва ҷалол ёфт, вақте ки аз ҷониби ҷалоли боазамат сӯи Ӯ чунин овоз расид: "Ин аст Писари Маҳбуби Ман, ки ҳусни таваҷҷӯҳи Ман бар Ӯст".

¹⁸And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.

¹⁸Ва ин овозро, ки аз осмон омада расид, мо шунидем, ҳангоме ки бо Ӯ дар кӯҳи муқаддас будем.

¹⁹We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:

¹⁹Ва каломи нубувват барои мо матонати бештаре дорад; шумо хуб мекунед, ки ба он рӯ меоваред, ҳамчун ба чароғе ки дар ҷои торик нур мепошад, то даме ки чашми рӯз кушода шуда, ситораи субҳ дар дилҳои шумо тулӯъ намояд;

²⁰Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

²⁰Ва пеш аз ҳама чиз инро бидонед, ки ҳеҷ як нубуввати Навиштаҳо тафсири шахсиро раво намедонад;

²¹For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

²¹Зеро ки ҳаргиз нубувват ба ҳасби иродаи одамизод ба забон ронда нашудааст, балки муқаддасони Худо, бо таҳрики Рӯҳулкудс, онро ба забон рондаанд.
