¹This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:

¹ИН номаи дуюм аст, ки ба шумо, эй маҳбубон, менависам; дар онҳо бо роҳи ёдоварӣ фикри поки шуморо таҳрик медиҳам,

²That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:

²То шумо ба ҳотир оваред суханонеро, ки пештар анбиёи муқаддас гуфтаанд, ва ҳукми Худованд ва Наҷотдиҳандаро, ки ҳаввориён ба шумо супурдаанд.

³Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,

³Пеш аз ҳама бидонед, ки дар рӯзҳои охир масхарабозони беҳаёе пайдо хоҳанд шуд, ки бар тибқи ҳавасҳои худ рафтор намуда,

⁴And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

⁴Хоҳанд гуфт: "Куҷост ваъдаи омадани Ӯ? Зеро аз замоне ки падарон вафот кардаанд, ҳама чиз ончунон ки аз аввали офариниш буд, боқӣ мондааст".

⁵For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:

⁵Онҳое ки чунин гумон мекунанд, намедонанд, ки дар ибтидо бо каломи Худо осмон ва замин аз об ва ба воситаи об таркиб ёфта буданд:

⁶Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:

⁶Бинобар ин дуньёи онвақта дар об ғарқ шуда, ба ҳалокат расид.

⁷But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

⁷Аммо осмон ва замини ҳозира низ бо ҳамон калом барои оташ нигоҳ дошта шудаанд ва то рӯзи доварӣ ва ҳалокати мардуми осӣ саришта карда мешаванд.

⁸But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

⁸Аммо ҳамин як чиз аз шумо, эй маҳбубон, набояд пӯшида бошад, ки дар назари Худованд як рӯз мисли ҳазор сол аст, ва ҳазор сол мисли як рӯз.

⁹The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

⁹Худованд дар иҷрои ваъда таъхир наменамояд, чунон ки баъзе касон инро таъхир ҳисоб мекунанд; балки ба шумо пурсабрӣ зоҳир менамояд ва намехоҳад, ки касе нобуд щавад, балки ҳама ба тавба рӯ оваранд.

¹⁰But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

¹⁰Валекин рӯзи Худованд, чунон ки дузд дар шаб, ҳохад омад, ва он гоҳ осмон бо ғулғулае хоҳад даргузашт, ва аносир оташ гирифта, хоҳанд гудохт, ва замин ва тамоми аъмоле ки дар он аст, хоҳад сӯхт.

¹¹Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,

¹¹Агар ҳамаи инҳо чунин нобуд мешуда бошанд, пас шумо дар рафтори муқаддасона ва парҳезгорӣ чӣ гуна бояд бошед,

¹²Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

¹²Дар ҳолате ки омадани рӯзи Худоро орзу доред ва мешитобонед, ки дар он рӯз осмон аланга гирифта несту нобуд хоҳад шуд, ва аносир оташ гирифта, хоҳанд гудохт?

¹³Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

¹³Лекин мо, мувофиқи ваъдаи Ӯ, мунтазири осмони нав ва замини нав ҳастем, ки дар онҳо адолат сокин хоҳад буд.

¹⁴Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

¹⁴Пас, эй маҳбубон, модоме ки инро интизорй доред, саъю кӯшиш намоед, ки назди Ӯ покиза ва беайб дар осоиштагӣ хозир шавед;

¹⁵And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;

¹⁵Ва пурсабрии Худованди моро наҷот ҳисоб кунед, чунон ки бародари маҳбуби мо Павлус низ, аз рӯи ҳикмате ки ба ӯ ато шудааст, ба шумо навиштааст,

¹⁶As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

¹⁶Ва ҳамчунин дар ҳамаи номаҳои худ ӯ дар ин бора сухан меронад, ки дар онҳо кадом як чизи душворфаҳме ҳаст, ки онро нодонон ва ноустуворон мисли Навиштаҳои дигар ғалат таъбир менамоянд, ва анҷоми ин кор барои онҳо ҳалокат меоварад.

¹⁷Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.

¹⁷Пас пгумо, ЭЙ маҳбубон, азбаски пешакӣ огоҳонида шудаед, эҳтиёт шавед, ки гирифтори иштибоҳи шарирон нагардед ва аз матонати худ маҳрум нашавед,

¹⁸But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

¹⁸Балки дар файз ва шинохтани Худованд ва Наҷотдиҳандаи мо Исои Масеҳ нумӯ ёбед, ки Ӯро аз ҳоло то абад ҷалол бод. Омин.
