¹Now when they had passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where was a synagogue of the Jews:

²And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures,

²Павлус, аз рӯи одати худ, назди онҳо дохил шуд, ва се рӯзи шанбе бо онҳо аз Навиштаҳо гуфтугӯ мекард

³Opening and alleging, that Christ must needs have suffered, and risen again from the dead; and that this Jesus, whom I preach unto you, is Christ.

³Ва ошкор карда ва исбот намуда, мегуфт, ки лозим буд Масеҳ азобу укубат кашад ва аз мурдагон эҳьё шавад, ва Ҳамин Исо,ки ман Ӯро ба шумо мавъиза мекунам, Масеҳ аст.

⁴And some of them believed, and consorted with Paul and Silas; and of the devout Greeks a great multitude, and of the chief women not a few.

⁴Баъзе аз онҳо ва ҳамчунин бисьёре аз юнониҳои ҳудотарс ва шумораи зиёде аз занони ашроф имон оварданд ва ба Павлус ва Сило ҳамроҳ шуданд.

⁵But the Jews which believed not, moved with envy, took unto them certain lewd fellows of the baser sort, and gathered a company, and set all the city on an uproar, and assaulted the house of Jason, and sought to bring them out to the people.

⁵Аммо яҳудиёне ки имон наоварда буданд, ҳасад бурданд ва чанд нафар нобакоронро аз бозор гирифта, издиҳоме ҷамъ карданд ва шаҳрро ба шӯр оварданд ва ба ҳонаи Ёсӯн тохта, ҳостанд онҳоро назди ҷамоат берун оваранд.

⁶And when they found them not, they drew Jason and certain brethren unto the rulers of the city, crying, These that have turned the world upside down are come hither also;

⁶Чун онҳоро наёфтанд, Ёсӯн ва чанд нафар бародаронро назди сардорони шаҳр кашиданд ва дод зада мегуфтанд, ки онҳое ки тамоми оламро зеру забар карданд, ба ин ҷо низ омадаанд,

⁷Whom Jason hath received: and these all do contrary to the decrees of Caesar, saying that there is another king, one Jesus.

⁷Ва Ёсӯн онҳоро пазироӣ кардааст, ва ҳамаи онҳо бар хилофи фармоишоти қайсар амал мекунанд ва шаҳси дигарро, ки Исо ном дорад, подшоҳ медонанд.

⁸And they troubled the people and the rulers of the city, when they heard these things.

⁸Аз шунидани ин суханон мардум ва сардорони шаҳр ба ташвиш афтоданд,

⁹And when they had taken security of Jason, and of the other, they let them go.

⁹Ва аз Ёсӯн ва дигарон замонат гирифта, онҳоро ҷавоб доданд.

¹⁰And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews.

¹⁰Бародарон фавран Павлус ва Силоро шабона ба Бирия равона карданд, ва онҳо ба он ҷо расида, ба куништи яҳудиён даромаданд.

¹¹These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

¹¹Яҳудиёни он ҷо назар ба аҳли Таслӯникӣ равшанфикртар буданд: бо иштиёқи комил каломро гӯш мекарданд ва ҳар рӯз Навиштаҳоро санҷида мебаромаданд, то бидонанд, ки оё дар ҳақиқат ҳамин тавр аст ё не;

¹²Therefore many of them believed; also of honourable women which were Greeks, and of men, not a few.

¹²Бисьёре аз онҳо, ҳам аз занони ашрофи юнонӣ ва ҳам шумораи зиёде аз мардон имон оварданд.

¹³But when the Jews of Thessalonica had knowledge that the word of God was preached of Paul at Berea, they came thither also, and stirred up the people.

¹³Лекин чун яҳудиёни Таслӯникӣ фаҳмиданд, ки Павлус дар Бирия низ каломи Худоро мавъиза намудааст, ба он ҷо омада, мардумро ба шӯр оварданд.

¹⁴And then immediately the brethren sent away Paul to go as it were to the sea: but Silas and Timotheus abode there still.

¹⁴Дарҳол бародарон Павлусро сӯи баҳр равона карданд, вале Сило ва Тимотиюс дар он ҷо монданд.

¹⁵And they that conducted Paul brought him unto Athens: and receiving a commandment unto Silas and Timotheus for to come to him with all speed, they departed.

¹⁵Ҳамроҳони Павлус ӯро то Атино гуселониданд, ва ӯ ба онҳо фармуд, ки гашта рафта, ҳар чи зудтар Сило ва Тимотиюсро назди ӯ равона кунанд.

¹⁶Now while Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was stirred in him, when he saw the city wholly given to idolatry.

¹⁶Ҳангоме ки Павлус дар Атино ба онҳо интизорӣ дошт, чун дид, ки ин шаҳр аз бутҳо пур аст, рӯҳаш дар дарунаш музтариб шуд.

¹⁷Therefore disputed he in the synagogue with the Jews, and with the devout persons, and in the market daily with them that met with him.

¹⁷Бинобар ин дар куништ бо яхудиён ва худотарсон ва дар бозор ҳар рӯз бо ҳар кӣ вомехӯрд, гуфтугӯ мекард.

¹⁸Then certain philosophers of the Epicureans, and of the Stoicks, encountered him. And some said, What will this babbler say? other some, He seemeth to be a setter forth of strange gods: because he preached unto them Jesus, and the resurrection.

¹⁸Баъзе аз файласуфони эпикурӣ ва истоӣ бо ӯ мунозира мекарданд; як хелашон мегуфтанд: "Ин лаққӣ чӣ мехоҳад бигӯяд?"; дитарҳо мегуфтанд: "Зоҳиран, ӯ худоҳои бегонаро мавъиза мекунад"; зеро ки ӯ ба онҳо аз Исо ва эҳьё башорат медод.

¹⁹And they took him, and brought him unto Areopagus, saying, May we know what this new doctrine, whereof thou speakest, is?

¹⁹Ӯро дастгир карда, ба Арьюпогус, ки кӯҳи доварон аст, оварданд ва гуфтанд: «Оё мумкин аст мо бидонем, ки ин тариқати наве ки ту мавъиза менамоӣ, чист?

²⁰For thou bringest certain strange things to our ears: we would know therefore what these things mean.

²⁰«Азбаски суханонат ба гӯши мо аҷиб мерасад, бинобар ин меҳоҳем бидонем, ки онҳо чӣ маъно доранд».

²¹(For all the Athenians and strangers which were there spent their time in nothing else, but either to tell, or to hear some new thing.)

²¹Зеро ки тамоми аҳли Атино ва аҷнабиёни сокини он ҷо вақти худро аз ҳама зиёдтар дар гуфтану шунидани ягон гапи тоза мегузаронданд.

²²Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars' hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious.

²²Он гоҳ Павлус дар миёнаҷои Арьюпогус истода, гуфт: «Эй мардони Атино! Шуморо аз ҳар ҷиҳат бисьёр диндор ёфтаам;

²³For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you.

²³«Зеро ки, чун гаштгузор карда, ибодатгоҳҳои шуморо аэ назар мегузаронцам, мазбаҳе дидам, ки бар он навишта шудааст: "Ба Худои ношинос". Пас, Ҳамонро, ки шумо мепарастед, вале намешиносед, ман 6а шумо мавъиза менамоям:

²⁴God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;

²⁴«Худое ки олам ва тамоми мавчудоти онро офаридааст, Худованци осмону замин аст ва дар маъбадҳои сохтаи дасти инсон сокин нест

²⁵Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;

²⁵«Ва ба ҳизмати дастҳои одамй эҳтиёҷ надорад, зеро ки Худаш ҳаёт ва нафас ва ҳар чизро ба ҳама мебахшад;

²⁶And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;

²⁶«Ҳамаи қавмҳои насли одамизодро Ӯ аз як хун ба вуҷуд овардааст, то ки бар тамоми рӯи замин сокин шаванд, ва барои сукунати онҳо мӯҳлатҳо ва ҳудуди муайяне пешакй муқаррар кардааст,

²⁷That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:

²⁷«То ки онҳо Худоро ҷустучӯ кунанд ва, шояд Ӯро ёбем гӯён, кӯркӯрона дастдаст карда нагарданд, гарчанде ки Ӯ аз ҳеҷ яке аз мо дур нест:

²⁸For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.

²⁸«Зеро ки мо дар Ӯ зиндагй ва ҳаракат мекунем ва вуҷуд дорем, чунон ки баъзе аз шоирони шумо низ гуфтаанд: "Мо фарзандони Ӯ ҳастем".

²⁹Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device.

²⁹«Пас, модоме ки ҳамаи мо фарзандони Худо ҳастем, набояд гумон кунем, ки Илоҳият монанд аст ба тилло ё нуқра ё санге ки аз санъат ва хаёли инсон сурате гирифтааст.

³⁰And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:

³⁰«Хуллас, ҳоло Худо аз замонҳои ҷаҳолат сарфи назар карда, дар ҳар ҷо ба ҳамаи одамон амр мефармояд, ки тавба кунанд;

³¹Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.

³¹«Зеро ки Ӯ рӯзеро муқаррар намудааст, ки аҳли ҷаҳонро ба василаи Марде ки баргузидаи Ӯст, аз рӯи инсоф доварй кунад, ва барои он ки инро ба ҳама исбот намояд, Ӯро аз мурдагон эҳьё кард».

³²And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked: and others said, We will hear thee again of this matter.

³²Вакте ки зикри эҳьёи мурдагонро пгуниданд, баъзе касон тамасхур карданд ва баъзеи дигарон гуфтанд: «Дар ин бора дафъаи дигар ба сухани гу гӯш хоҳем дод».

³³So Paul departed from among them.

³³Бо ҳамин, Павлус аз миени онҳо берун омад.

³⁴Howbeit certain men clave unto him, and believed: among the which was Dionysius the Areopagite, and a woman named Damaris, and others with them.

³⁴Вале якчанд кас ба ӯ ҳамроҳ шуда, имон оварданд; дар байни онҳо Диёнисиюси арьюпогй ва Домарис нрм зане ва дигарон буданд.
