¹And when they were escaped, then they knew that the island was called Melita.

²And the barbarous people shewed us no little kindness: for they kindled a fire, and received us every one, because of the present rain, and because of the cold.

²Сокинони ҷазира ба мо хеле меҳрубонй намуданд: азбаски борон меборид ва ҳаво хунук буд, онҳо оташ афрӯҳта, ҳамаамонро пазироӣ карданд.

³And when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks, and laid them on the fire, there came a viper out of the heat, and fastened on his hand.

³Павлус як миқдор ҳезум ҷамъ карда буд, ва ҳангоме ки онро дар оташ меандохт, ба сабаби гармии оташ мори афъие берун омада, ба дасташ часпид.

⁴And when the barbarians saw the venomous beast hang on his hand, they said among themselves, No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he hath escaped the sea, yet vengeance suffereth not to live.

⁴Ҳамин ки сокинони ҷазира ҷонварро бар дасти ӯ овезон диданд, ба якдигар гуфтанд: «Бидуни шакку шубха, ин шахс қотил аст, ки бо вуҷуди аз баҳр раҳо шуданаш адолат намегузорад, ки ӯ зинда бимонад».

⁵And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm.

⁵Аммо ӯ ҷонварро дар оташ афканд ва ҳеҷ осебе надид.

⁶Howbeit they looked when he should have swollen, or fallen down dead suddenly: but after they had looked a great while, and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds, and said that he was a god.

⁶Онҳо мунтазир буданд, ки баданаш варам мекунад ё ки ӯ баногоҳ афтода ҷон медиҳад; вале чун бисьёр интизорӣ кашиданд ва диданд, ки ҳеҷ офате ба ӯ нарасид, фикрашон дигаргун шуд, ва гуфтанд, ки ӯ Худое мебошад.

⁷In the same quarters were possessions of the chief man of the island, whose name was Publius; who received us, and lodged us three days courteously.

⁷Дар наздикиҳои он мавзеъ амлоки сардори ҷазира буд, ки ӯ Публюос ном дошт; ӯ моро ба хонаи худ оварда, се рӯз бо меҳрубонӣ пазироӣ намуд.

⁸And it came to pass, that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and of a bloody flux: to whom Paul entered in, and prayed, and laid his hands on him, and healed him.

⁸Падари Публиюс гирифтори табларза ва дарди ишкам шуда хобида буд, ва Павлус назди вай омад ва дастҳои худро бар вай гузошта, вайро шифо дод.

⁹So when this was done, others also, which had diseases in the island, came, and were healed:

⁹Баъд аз ин вокеа дигар беморони ҷазира низ омада, шифо ёфтапд,

¹⁰Who also honoured us with many honours; and when we departed, they laded us with such things as were necessary.

¹⁰Ва моро хеле иззату ҳурмат карданд, ва ҳангоме ки аз он ҷо мерафтем, моро бо лавозимоти сафар таъмин намуданд.

¹¹And after three months we departed in a ship of Alexandria, which had wintered in the isle, whose sign was Castor and Pollux.

¹¹Пас аз се моҳ ба киштии Искандария, ки аломати Ҷавзо дошт ва зимистонро дар ҷазира гузаронда буд, савор шудем

¹²And landing at Syracuse, we tarried there three days.

¹²Ва ба Саркузо расида, дар он ҷо се рӯз мондем;

¹³And from thence we fetched a compass, and came to Rhegium: and after one day the south wind blew, and we came the next day to Puteoli:

¹³Аз он ҷо равона шуда, ба Риғюн омадем; азбаски баъд аз як рӯз боди ҷанубӣ вазид, рӯзи дуюм вориди Пӯтюлӣ шудем;

¹⁴Where we found brethren, and were desired to tarry with them seven days: and so we went toward Rome.

¹⁴Дар он ҷо бародаронро ёфта, мувофиқи хоҳишашон ҳафт рӯз назди онҳо мондем ва сонӣ роҳи Румро пеш гирифтем.

¹⁵And from thence, when the brethren heard of us, they came to meet us as far as Appii forum, and The three taverns: whom when Paul saw, he thanked God, and took courage.

¹⁵Бародарони он ҷо, чун аз омадани мо хабардор шуданд, то бозоргоҳи Опиюс ва меҳмонсарое ки "Се майхона" ном дошт, ба истиқболи мо омаданд, ва Павлус онҳоро дида, ба Худо шукргузорй кард ва қавидил гашт.

¹⁶And when we came to Rome, the centurion delivered the prisoners to the captain of the guard: but Paul was suffered to dwell by himself with a soldier that kept him.

¹⁶Вақте ки ба Рум расидем, мирисад бандиёнро ба сипаҳсолор супурд, аммо ба Павлус иҷозат шуд, ки бо як сарбоз, ки ӯро посбонӣ мекард, дар хонаи ҷудогонае иқомат кунад.

¹⁷And it came to pass, that after three days Paul called the chief of the Jews together: and when they were come together, he said unto them, Men and brethren, though I have committed nothing against the people, or customs of our fathers, yet was I delivered prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans.

¹⁷Баъд аз се рӯз Павлус бузургони яҳудиёнро даъват намуд, ва ҳангоме ки онҳо ҷамъ омаданд, ба онҳо гуфт: «Эй бародарон! Гарчанде ки ман ҳеҷ амале бар зидди қавм ва расму таомули падарон накардаам, маро дар Ерусалим бандӣ карда, ба дасти румиён супурданд;

¹⁸Who, when they had examined me, would have let me go, because there was no cause of death in me.

¹⁸«Онҳо, баъд аз тафтиш, мехостанд маро озод кунанд, чунки ман ҳеҷ гуноҳе накардаам, ки сазовори марг бошам;

¹⁹But when the Jews spake against it, I was constrained to appeal unto Caesar; not that I had ought to accuse my nation of.

¹⁹«Аммо азбаски яҳудиён мухолифат карданд, ман маҷбур шудам доварии қайсарро талаб намоям, вале на аз барои он ки аз қавми худ шикояте кунам;

²⁰For this cause therefore have I called for you, to see you, and to speak with you: because that for the hope of Israel I am bound with this chain.

²⁰Ба ин сабаб ман шуморо даъват намудам, то ки бо шумо воҳӯрда гуфтугӯ кунам, зеро ки аз барои умеди Исроил бо ин занҷир баста шудаам».

²¹And they said unto him, We neither received letters out of Judaea concerning thee, neither any of the brethren that came shewed or spake any harm of thee.

²¹Ба ӯ гуфтанд: «Мо ҳеҷ номае дар ҳаққи ту аз Яҳудо нагирифтаем, ва аз бародароне ки ба ин ҷо омада буданд, ҳеҷ кас аз ту чизе хабар надодааст ва ё суҳани баде нагуфтааст;

²²But we desire to hear of thee what thou thinkest: for as concerning this sect, we know that every where it is spoken against.

²²«Лекин ҳоҳишмандем, ки фикру ақидаи туро аз худат бишнавем, зеро ба мо маълум аст, ки дар бораи ин фирқа дар ҳама ҷо ҷидол мекунанд».

²³And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening.

²³Рӯзеро барои ӯ муқаррар карданд, ва мардуми бисьёре назди ӯ ба манзилаш омаданд, ва ӯ аз субҳ то шом ба онҳо аз Малакути Худо шаҳодат ва шарҳ медод ва аз Тавроти Мусо ва суҳафи анбиё далелҳо дар бораи Исо меовард.

²⁴And some believed the things which were spoken, and some believed not.

²⁴Баъзе аз онҳо ба суханонаш имон оварданд, вале дигарон имон наоварданд.

²⁵And when they agreed not among themselves, they departed, after that Paul had spoken one word, Well spake the Holy Ghost by Esaias the prophet unto our fathers,

²⁵Азбаски бо якдигар мухолифат доштанд, Павлус пеш аз рафтани онҳо чунин сухане гуфт: «Рӯҳулқудс ба василаи Ишаъёи набй ба падарони мо чӣ хуб гуфтааст:

²⁶Saying, Go unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive:

²⁶"Назди ин қавм бирав ва бигӯ: бо гӯшҳои шунаво хоҳед нгунид, вале нахоҳед фаҳмид; ва бо чашмҳои бино хоҳед нигарист, вале нахоҳед дид;

²⁷For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

²⁷"Зеро ки дили ин қавм саҳт ва гӯшҳошон вазнин ва чашмҳошон баста шудааст, мабодо бо чашмҳо бубинанд ва бо гӯшҳо бишнаванд ва бо дил бифаҳманд ва руҷӯъ кунанд, то ки онҳоро шифо баҳшам".

²⁸Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.

²⁸Пас, бидонед, ки наҷоти Худо ба ғайрияхудиён фиристода игудааст, ва онҳо хоҳанд шунид».

²⁹And when he had said these words, the Jews departed, and had great reasoning among themselves.

²⁹Чун инро гуфт, яхудиен рафтанд, дар ҳолате ки бо якдигар бисьёр мубоҳиса мекарданд.

³⁰And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received all that came in unto him,

³⁰Павлус ду соли тамом дар ҳонаи иҷорагии худ истиқомат кард, ва ҳар киро, ки назди ӯ меомад, пазирой менамуд

³¹Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.

³¹Ва Малакути Худоро мавъиза мекард ва бо тамоми далерӣ Тариқати Исои Масеҳи Худовандро бемалол таълим медод.
