¹Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

¹ИМОН эътиқоди қавӣ ба чизҳоест, ки мо ба онҳо умед мебандем, ва боварӣ ба чизҳоест, ки намоён нестанд.

²For by it the elders obtained a good report.

²Зеро ки ба василаи он қадимиён шаҳодат пайдо кардаанд.

³Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

³Бо имон мо дарк мекунем, ки оламҳо бо каломи Худо тартиб ёфтааст, ба тавре ки аз чизҳои нонамоён чизҳои намоён ба вуҷуд омадааст.

⁴By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.

⁴Бо имон Ҳобил ба Худо, назар оа Қобил, курбонии беҳтаре тақдим намуд; бо он ӯ шаҳодат пайдо кард, ки ӯ одил аст, чунон ки Худо дар бораи ҳадияҳои ӯ шаҳодат дод; бо он ӯ баъд аз мамоташ ҳанӯз ҳам сухан меронад.

⁵By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.

⁵Бо имон Ҳанӯх тавре кӯчонида шуд, ки мамотро надид; ва ӯ пайдо нашуд, чунки Худо ӯро кӯчонид. Зеро ки пеш аз кӯчонида шуданаш шаҳодат пайдо кард, ки ба Худо писанд омадааст.

⁶But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

⁶Аммо бе имон ба назари Худо писанд омадан мумкин нест; зеро ҳар кӣ сӯи Худо меояд, бояд имон дошта бошад, ки Ӯ ҳаст, ва ба толибони Худ мукофот хоҳад дод.

⁷By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.

⁷Бо имон Нӯҳ дар хусуси чизе ки ҳанӯз намоён набуд, ваҳЙ ёфта, бо тарси Худо барои наҷот додани аҳли байти худ киштие бисохт; бо он ӯ ҷаҳонро маҳкум намуд ва вориси адолате гардид, ки аз имон аст.

⁸By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.

⁸Бо имон Иброҳим итоат намуд ба даъвате дар бораи рафтан ба мамлакате ки мебоист мерос мегирифт, ва ӯ рафт, ва намедонист ба куҷо меравад.

⁹By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:

⁹Бо имон ӯ дар замини мавъуд, мисли замини бегона, ғарибона маскан гирифт, ва бо Исҳоқ ва Яъқуб, ки ҳамирсони ҳамон ваъда буданд, дар хаймаҳо зиндагй кард;

¹⁰For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.

¹⁰Зеро ӯ мунтазири шаҳре буд, ки таҳкурсии мустаҳкаме дорад, ва меъмору бинокори он Худост.

¹¹Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.

¹¹Бо имон худи Соро низ барои қабули насл қувват пайдо кард ва баъд аз фарсудагиаш зоид; зеро Ваъдадиҳандаро амин донист.

¹²Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable.

¹²Бинобар ин аз як нафар, ки он ҳам мисли беҷон буд, ончунон бисьёр зоида шуданд, чунон ки ситораҳои осмон бисьёр аст, ва чунон ки реги лаби баҳр бешумор аст.

¹³These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.

¹³Ҳамаи инҳо дар имон мурданд ва ба муроди иҷрои ваъдаҳо нарасиданд, балки фақат аз дур онҳоро дида, шод шуданд ва эътироф карданд, ки бар замин мусофир ва ғарибанд;

¹⁴For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country.

¹⁴Зеро онҳое ки чунин мегӯянд, нишон медиҳанд, ки дар ҷустуҷӯи ватане ҳастанд.

¹⁵And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned.

¹⁵Ва агар ватанеро, ки аз он берун омада буданд, ба ёд меоварданд, фурсат доштанд, ки баргарданд;

¹⁶But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.

¹⁶Аммо иштиёқманди ватани беҳтаре буданд, ки он дар осмон аст; бинобар ин Худо ор намедонад, ки Худои онҳо хонда шавад: зеро ки Ӯ барои онҳо шаҳре муҳайё кардааст.

¹⁷By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son,

¹⁷Бо имон Иброҳим, вақте ки озмуда шуд, Исҳоқро барои қурбонӣ тақдим намуд ва, бо вуҷуди он ки ваъдаҳо гирифта буд, писари ягонаи худро тақдим намуд,

¹⁸Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called:

¹⁸Ки дар ҳаққи вай гуфта шуда буд: "Насли ту аз Исҳоқ хонда хоҳад шуд";

¹⁹Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure.

¹⁹Зеро ӯ фикр мекард, ки Худо қодир аст аз мурдагон низ эҳьё кунад; ба ин сабаб Исҳоқ ба таври тимсол аз мурдагон ба ӯ баргардонида шуд.

²⁰By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come.

²⁰Бо имон Исҳоқ Яъқуб ва Эсовро барои оянда низ баракат дод.

²¹By faith Jacob, when he was a dying, blessed both the sons of Joseph; and worshipped, leaning upon the top of his staff.

²¹Бо имон Яъқуб, пеш аз мурданаш, ҳар писари Юсуфро баракат дод ва бар сари асои худ такья намуда, саҷда кард.

²²By faith Joseph, when he died, made mention of the departing of the children of Israel; and gave commandment concerning his bones.

²²Бо имон Юсуф, дар вакти вафоташ, хуруҷи банӣИсроилро зикр намуд ва дар бораи устухонҳои худ васият кард.

²³By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents, because they saw he was a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king's commandment.

²³Бо имон падару модари Мусо ӯро, чун таваллуд шуд, се моҳ пинҳон доштанд, зеро диданд, ки кӯдаки зебост, ва аз амри подшоҳ натарсиданд.

²⁴By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter;

²⁴Бо имон Мусо, чун калонсол шуд, нахост, ки гшсари духгари фиръавн хонда шавад,

²⁵Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;

²⁵Ва бо қавми Худо уқубат кашиданро афзал донкст аз он ки аз гуноҳ ҳаловати муваққатӣ дошта бошад,

²⁶Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.

²⁶Ва хории Масеҳро сарвати бузургтар аз ганҷҳои Миср ҳисоб кард; зеро ки ба мукофот назар медӯҳт.

²⁷By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.

²⁷Бо имон ӯ Мисрро тарк кард ва аз ғазаби подшоҳ натарсид; зеро ӯ, мисли он ки Нонамоёнро дида бошад, боматонат буд.

²⁸Through faith he kept the passover, and the sprinkling of blood, lest he that destroyed the firstborn should touch them.

²⁸Бо имон ӯ фисҳ ва пошидани хунро ба амал овард, то ки несткунандаи нахустзодагон ба онҳо даст нарасонад.

²⁹By faith they passed through the Red sea as by dry land: which the Egyptians assaying to do were drowned.

²⁹Бо имон онҳо аз баҳри Қулзум, чун аз хупгкй, гузаштанд, вале вақте ки мисриён ба гузаштан ҳаракат карданд, ғарқ шуданд.

³⁰By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they were compassed about seven days.

³⁰Бо имон деворҳои Ериҳӯ пас аз даврзании ҳафтрӯза фурӯ ғалтид.

³¹By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace.

³¹Бо имон Роҳоби фоҳиша, ки ҷосусонро ба саломатӣ қабул карда буд, бо исьёнгарон ба ҳалокат нарасид.

³²And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets:

³²Боз чӣ гӯям? Вақтам кифоя камекуиад барои он ки дар бораи "Ҷидъӯн ва Бороқ ва Шимшӯн ва Йифтоҳ ва Довуд ва Самуил ва анбиё ҳикоят намоям,

³³Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions.

³³Ки онҳо бо имон мамлакатҳоро мусаххар карданд, адлро ба амал оварданд, ба ваъдаҳо муваффақ шуданд, даҳони шеронро бастанд,

³⁴Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.

³⁴Қуввати оташро хомӯш карданд, аз дами шамшер халосӣ ёфтанд,аз заъф бокувват шуданд,дар ҷанг кавӣ гардиданд, фавҷҳои бегонаҳоро торумор карданд;

³⁵Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection:

³⁵Занон мурдаҳои худро эҳьешуда ёфтанд; вале дигарон аз шиканҷа нобуд шудағд ва озодиро қабул накарданд, то ки ба эҳьёи беҳтаре ноил гарданд;

³⁶And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment:

³⁶Ва баъзеи дигарон ҳақоратҳо ва шаллоқро, ҳамчунин занҷирҳо ва зиндонро аз сар гузаронданд.

³⁷They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented;

³⁷Сангсор шудаид, бо арра дупора гардиданд, ба шиканҷа гирифтор шуданд, аз дами шамшер мурданд; пӯстҳои гӯсфағду буз дар тан сарсону саргардон шуда, мӯҳточӣ, тангӣ ва уқубат кашиданд;

³⁸(Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.

³⁸Онҳое ки ҷаҳон лоиқашон набуд, дар биёбонҳо ва кӯҳҳо, дар мағораҳо ва дараҳои замин овора шуда гапгтанд.

³⁹And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:

³⁹Ва ҳамаи онҳо, ки ба хотири имон шӯҳрат пайдо карда буданд, ваъдаро сохиб нашуданд,

⁴⁰God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.

⁴⁰Чунки Худо барои мо чизи беҳтаре пешбинӣ намуда буд, то ки онҳо бе мо комил нагарданд.
