1Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
1เหตุฉะนั้น เมื่อมีพระสัญญาทรงประทานไว้แล้วว่า จะให้เข้าในที่สงบสุขของพระองค์ ให้เราทั้งหลายมีความยำเกรงว่า ในพวกท่านอาจจะมีผู้หนึ่งผู้ใดเหมือนไปไม่ถึง
2For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
2เพราะว่าเราได้มีผู้ประกาศข่าวประเสริฐให้แก่เราแล้ว เหมือนแก่เขาเหล่านั้นด้วย แต่ว่าถ้อยคำซึ่งเขาได้ยินนั้นไม่ได้เป็นประโยชน์แก่เขา เพราะว่าเขาไม่มีความเชื่อพ้องกับผู้ที่ได้ยิน
3For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
3เพราะว่าเราทั้งหลายที่เชื่อแล้วก็เข้าในที่สงบสุขนั้น เหมือนพระองค์ได้ตรัสไว้แล้วว่า `ตามที่เราได้ปฏิญาณด้วยความพิโรธของเราว่า "เขาจะไม่ได้เข้าสู่ที่สงบสุขของเรา"' แม้ว่างานนั้นสำเร็จแล้วตั้งแต่วางรากสร้างโลก
4For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.
4และมีข้อหนึ่งที่พระองค์ได้ตรัสถึงวันที่เจ็ดดังนี้ว่า `ในวันที่เจ็ดพระเจ้าทรงพักการงานทั้งสิ้นของพระองค์'
5And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.
5และแห่งเดียวกันนั้นได้ตรัสอีกว่า `เขาจะไม่ได้เข้าสู่ที่สงบสุขของเรา'
6Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:
6ครั้นเห็นแล้วว่ายังมีช่องให้บางคนเข้าในที่สงบสุขนั้น และคนเหล่านั้นที่ได้ยินข่าวประเสริฐคราวก่อนไม่ได้เข้าเพราะเขาไม่เชื่อ
7Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
7พระองค์จึงได้ทรงกำหนดวันหนึ่งไว้อีก คือกล่าวในคัมภีร์ของดาวิดครั้นล่วงไปช้านานแล้วว่า "วันนี้" เหมือนตรัสเมื่อคราวก่อนแล้วว่า `วันนี้ ถ้าท่านทั้งหลายจะฟังพระสุรเสียงของพระองค์ อย่าให้จิตใจของท่านแข็งกระด้างไป'
8For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.
8เพราะว่าถ้าโยชูวาได้พาเขาเข้าสู่ที่สงบสุขนั้นแล้ว พระองค์ก็คงมิได้ตรัสในภายหลังถึงวันอื่นอีก
9There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.
9ฉะนั้นจึงยังมีสะบาโตสำหรับชนชาติของพระเจ้า
10For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
10ด้วยว่าคนใดที่ได้เข้าไปในที่สงบสุขของตนแล้ว ก็ได้หยุดการงานของตน เหมือนพระเจ้าได้ทรงหยุดจากพระราชกิจของพระองค์
11Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
11เหตุฉะนั้นให้เราทั้งหลายอุตส่าห์เข้าในที่สงบสุขนั้น เพื่อมิให้ผู้หนึ่งผู้ใดตกหลงไปในการไม่เชื่อเช่นเขาเหล่านั้นซึ่งเป็นตัวอย่าง
12For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
12เพราะว่าพระวจนะของพระเจ้านั้นมีชีวิต และทรงพลานุภาพอยู่เสมอ คมยิ่งกว่าดาบสองคมใดๆ แทงทะลุกระทั่งจิตและวิญญาณ ตลอดข้อกระดูกและไขในกระดูก และสามารถวินิจฉัยความคิดและความมุ่งหมายในใจด้วย
13Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.
13ไม่มีสิ่งเนรมิตสร้างใดๆ ที่ไม่ได้ปรากฏในสายพระเนตรของพระองค์ แต่สิ่งสารพัดก็เปลือยเปล่าและปรากฏแจ้งต่อพระเนตรของพระองค์ผู้ซึ่งเราต้องเกี่ยวข้องด้วย
14Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.
14เหตุฉะนั้นเมื่อเรามีมหาปุโรหิตผู้เป็นใหญ่ที่ผ่านฟ้าสวรรค์ไปแล้ว คือพระเยซูพระบุตรของพระเจ้า ขอให้เราทั้งหลายมั่นคงในการยอมรับของเราไว้
15For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
15เพราะว่าเรามิได้มีมหาปุโรหิตที่ไม่สามารถจะเห็นใจในความอ่อนแอของเรา แต่ได้ทรงถูกทดลองเหมือนอย่างเราทุกประการ ถึงกระนั้นพระองค์ก็ยังปราศจากบาป
16Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
16ฉะนั้นขอให้เราทั้งหลายจงมีใจกล้าเข้ามาถึงพระที่นั่งแห่งพระคุณ เพื่อเราจะได้รับพระเมตตา และจะได้พบพระคุณที่จะช่วยเราในขณะที่ต้องการ
