¹The burden of the desert of the sea. As whirlwinds in the south pass through; so it cometh from the desert, from a terrible land.

¹Gánh nặng về đồng vắng ở gần biển. Nó đến từ đồng vắng, là đất đáng kinh khiếp, khác nào cơn gió lốc vụt qua trong phương nam.

²A grievous vision is declared unto me; the treacherous dealer dealeth treacherously, and the spoiler spoileth. Go up, O Elam: besiege, O Media; all the sighing thereof have I made to cease.

²Có sự hiện thấy hãi hùng đã tỏ ra cho tôi: kẻ gian dối ở gian dối, kẻ tàn hại làm tàn hại! Hỡi người Ê-lam, hãy lên; Hỡi người Mê-đi, hãy vây đi! Ta sẽ làm cho dứt mọi tiếng than thở nó.

³Therefore are my loins filled with pain: pangs have taken hold upon me, as the pangs of a woman that travaileth: I was bowed down at the hearing of it; I was dismayed at the seeing of it.

³Vậy nên lưng ta đau lắm, quặn thắt như đờn bà đang sanh đẻ; sự đau đớn mà ta chịu, làm cho ta không thấy!

⁴My heart panted, fearfulness affrighted me: the night of my pleasure hath he turned into fear unto me.

⁴Lòng ta mê muội, rất nên khiếp sợ; vốn là chiều hôm ta ưa thích, đã đổi ra sự run rẩy cho ta.

⁵Prepare the table, watch in the watchtower, eat, drink: arise, ye princes, and anoint the shield.

⁵Người ta đặt bàn tiệc, cắt kẻ canh giữ; người ta ăn và uống. Hỡi các quan trưởng, hãy chờ dậy! Hãy thoa dầu cho cái thuẫn!

⁶For thus hath the LORD said unto me, Go, set a watchman, let him declare what he seeth.

⁶Vì Chúa phán cùng tôi như vầy: Hãy đi, sắp đặt vọng canh, thấy việc gì thì báo.

⁷And he saw a chariot with a couple of horsemen, a chariot of asses, and a chariot of camels; and he hearkened diligently with much heed:

⁷Khi nó thấy quân lính cỡi ngựa đi từng cặp, và có lừa cùng lạc đà từng bầy, thì nó phải chăm chỉ mà nghe.

⁸And he cried, A lion: My lord, I stand continually upon the watchtower in the daytime, and I am set in my ward whole nights:

⁸Ðoạn nó kêu lên như sư tử, mà rằng: Hỡi Chúa, tôi đứng rình nơi chòi trông cả ngày, và đứng tại chỗ tôi canh cả đêm.

⁹And, behold, here cometh a chariot of men, with a couple of horsemen. And he answered and said, Babylon is fallen, is fallen; and all the graven images of her gods he hath broken unto the ground.

⁹Nầy, có quân lính cỡi ngựa đi từng cặp mà đến. Nó đáp rằng: Ba-by-lôn đổ xuống rồi, đổ xuống rồi! Mọi hình tượng tà thần của nó đã bể nát trên đất rồi!

¹⁰O my threshing, and the corn of my floor: that which I have heard of the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, have I declared unto you.

¹⁰Hỡi lúa bị đạp của ta, là thóc trên sân kia! sự ta đã nghe từ Ðức Giê-hô-va vạn quân, tức là Ðức Chúa Trời của Y-sơ-ra-ên, thì ta đã bảo cho ngươi biết.

¹¹The burden of Dumah. He calleth to me out of Seir, Watchman, what of the night? Watchman, what of the night?

¹¹Gánh nặng về Ðu-ma. Có người từ Sê -i-rơ kêu tôi rằng: Hỡi người canh, đêm thể nào? Hỡi người canh, đêm thể nào?

¹²The watchman said, The morning cometh, and also the night: if ye will enquire, enquire ye: return, come.

¹²Người canh đáp rằng: Buổi sáng đến; đêm cũng đến. Nếu muốn hỏi thì hỏi đi; hãy trở lại, hãy đến.

¹³The burden upon Arabia. In the forest in Arabia shall ye lodge, O ye travelling companies of Dedanim.

¹³Gánh nặng về A-ra-bi. Hỡi đoàn đi buôn ở Ðê-đan, sẽ ngủ trong rừng xứ A-ra-bi. Dân cư Thê-ma đã đem nước cho những kẻ khát;

¹⁴The inhabitants of the land of Tema brought water to him that was thirsty, they prevented with their bread him that fled.

¹⁴đã đón những người trốn đặng cho họ bánh.

¹⁵For they fled from the swords, from the drawn sword, and from the bent bow, and from the grievousness of war.

¹⁵Vì họ trốn gươm, trốn sự chiến tranh kinh khiếp.

¹⁶For thus hath the LORD said unto me, Within a year, according to the years of an hireling, and all the glory of Kedar shall fail:

¹⁶Chúa đã phán cùng tôi như vầy: Trong một năm nữa, kể như năm kẻ ở mướn, cả sự vinh hiển của Kê-đa sẽ hao mòn.

¹⁷And the residue of the number of archers, the mighty men of the children of Kedar, shall be diminished: for the LORD God of Israel hath spoken it.

¹⁷Những kẻ cầm cung mạnh mẽ, là con cái của Kê-đa, sẽ sót lại chẳng bao lăm. Vì Giê-hô-va, Ðức Chúa Trời của Y-sơ-ra-ên, đã phán vậy.
