¹The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God;

¹Ðầu Tin Lành của Ðức Chúa Jêsus Christ, là Con Ðức Chúa Trời.

²As it is written in the prophets, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.

²Như đã chép trong sách tiên tri Ê-sai rằng: Nầy, ta sai sứ ta đến trước mặt ngươi, Người sẽ dọn đường cho ngươi.

³The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

³Có tiếng kêu trong đồng vắng rằng: Hãy dọn đường Chúa, Ban bằng các nẻo Ngài;

⁴John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.

⁴Giăng đã tới, trong đồng vắng vừa làm vừa giảng phép báp-tem ăn năn, cho được tha tội.

⁵And there went out unto him all the land of Judaea, and they of Jerusalem, and were all baptized of him in the river of Jordan, confessing their sins.

⁵Cả xứ Giu-đê và hết thảy dân sự thành Giê-ru-sa-lem đều đến cùng người, xưng tội mình và chịu người làm phép báp tem dưới sông Giô-đanh.

⁶And John was clothed with camel's hair, and with a girdle of a skin about his loins; and he did eat locusts and wild honey;

⁶Giăng mặc áo lông lạc đà, buộc dây lưng da ngang hông; ăn những châu chấu và mật ong rừng.

⁷And preached, saying, There cometh one mightier than I after me, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose.

⁷Người giảng dạy rằng: Có Ðấng quyền phép hơn ta đến sau ta; ta không đáng cúi xuống mở dây giày Ngài.

⁸I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.

⁸Ta làm phép báp-tem cho các ngươi bằng nước; nhưng Ngài sẽ làm phép báp-tem cho các ngươi bằng Ðức Thánh-Linh.

⁹And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan.

⁹Vả, trong những ngày đó, Ðức Chúa Jêsus đến từ Na-xa-rét là thành xứ Ga-li-lê, và chịu Giăng làm phép báp-tem dưới sông Giô-đanh.

¹⁰And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him:

¹⁰Vừa khi lên khỏi nước, Ngài thấy các từng trời mở ra, và Ðức Thánh-Linh ngự xuống trên mình Ngài như chim bò câu.

¹¹And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

¹¹Lại có tiếng từ trên trời phán rằng: Ngươi là Con yêu dấu của ta, đẹp lòng ta mọi đường.

¹²And immediately the spirit driveth him into the wilderness.

¹²Tức thì Ðức Thánh Linh giục Ngài đến nơi đồng vắng

¹³And he was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted of Satan; and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered unto him.

¹³Ngài ở nơi đồng vắng chịu quỉ Sa-tan cám dỗ bốn mươi ngày, ở chung với thú rừng, và có thiên sứ đến hầu việc Ngài.

¹⁴Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,

¹⁴Sau khi Giăng bị tù, Ðức Chúa Jêsus đến xứ Ga-li-lê, giảng Tin-Lành của Ðức Chúa Trời,

¹⁵And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

¹⁵mà rằng: Kỳ đã trọn, nước Ðức Chúa Trời đã đến gần; các ngươi hãy ăn năn và tin đạo Tin Lành.

¹⁶Now as he walked by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.

¹⁶Ngài đi dọc theo mé biển Ga-li-lê, thấy Si-môn với Anh-rê, em người, đương thả lưới dưới biển; vì hai người vốn làm nghề chài.

¹⁷And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men.

¹⁷Ðức Chúa Jêsus bèn phán cùng họ rằng: Hãy theo ta, và ta sẽ khiến các ngươi trở nên tay đánh lưới người.

¹⁸And straightway they forsook their nets, and followed him.

¹⁸Tức thì hai người bỏ chài lưới mà theo Ngài.

¹⁹And when he had gone a little farther thence, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were in the ship mending their nets.

¹⁹Ði một đỗi xa xa, Ngài thấy Gia-cơ, con Xê-bê-đê, với em là Giăng, đương vá lưới trong thuyền.

²⁰And straightway he called them: and they left their father Zebedee in the ship with the hired servants, and went after him.

²⁰Ngài liền kêu hai người; thì họ để Xê-bê-đê, cho mình, ở lại trong thuyền với mấy người làm thuê, mà theo Ngài.

²¹And they went into Capernaum; and straightway on the sabbath day he entered into the synagogue, and taught.

²¹Kế đó, đi đến thành Ca-bê-na-um; nhằm ngày Sa-bát, tức thì Ðức Chúa Jêsus vào nhà hội, khởi dạy dỗ tại đó.

²²And they were astonished at his doctrine: for he taught them as one that had authority, and not as the scribes.

²²Chúng đều cảm động về sự dạy dỗ của Ngài, vì Ngài dạy như có quyền phép, chớ chẳng phải như các thầy thông giáo đâu.

²³And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and he cried out,

²³Vả, cũng một lúc ấy, trong nhà hội có người bị tà ma ám,

²⁴Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God.

²⁴kêu lên rằng: Hỡi Jêsus, người Na-xa-rét, chúng tôi với Ngài có sự gì chăng? Ngài đến để diệt chúng tôi sao? Tôi biết Ngài là ai: là Ðấng Thánh của Ðức Chúa Trời.

²⁵And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him.

²⁵Nhưng Ðức Chúa Jêsus nghiêm trách nó rằng: Hãy nín đi, ra khỏi người.

²⁶And when the unclean spirit had torn him, and cried with a loud voice, he came out of him.

²⁶Tà ma bèn vật mạnh người ấy, cất tiếng kêu lớn, và ra khỏi người.

²⁷And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for with authority commandeth he even the unclean spirits, and they do obey him.

²⁷Ai nấy đều lấy làm lạ, đến nỗi hỏi nhau rằng: Cái gì vậy? Sự dạy mới sao! Người nầy lấy quyền phép sai khiến đến tà ma, mà nói cũng phải vâng lời!

²⁸And immediately his fame spread abroad throughout all the region round about Galilee.

²⁸Danh tiếng Ðức Chúa Jêsus tức thì đồn ra khắp cả miền xung quanh xứ Ga-li-lê.

²⁹And forthwith, when they were come out of the synagogue, they entered into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John.

²⁹Vừa ở nhà hội ra, Chúa và môn đồ đi với Gia-cơ và Giăng vào nhà Si-môn và Anh-rê.

³⁰But Simon's wife's mother lay sick of a fever, and anon they tell him of her.

³⁰Và, bà gia Si-môn đang nằm trên giường, đau rét; tức thì chúng thưa với Ngài về chuyện người.

³¹And he came and took her by the hand, and lifted her up; and immediately the fever left her, and she ministered unto them.

³¹Ngài bèn lại gần, cầm tay người đỡ dậy; bịnh rét dứt đi, và người bắt tay hầu hạ.

³²And at even, when the sun did set, they brought unto him all that were diseased, and them that were possessed with devils.

³²Ðến chiều, mặt trời đã lặn, người ta đem mọi kẻ bịnh và kẻ bị quỉ ám đến cùng Ngài.

³³And all the city was gathered together at the door.

³³Cả thành nhóm lại trước cửa.

³⁴And he healed many that were sick of divers diseases, and cast out many devils; and suffered not the devils to speak, because they knew him.

³⁴Ngài chữa lành nhiều kẻ đau các thứ bịnh, và đuổi nhiều quỉ, chẳng cho phép các quỉ nói ra, vì chúng nó biết Ngài.

³⁵And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.

³⁵Sáng hôm sau trời còn mờ mờ, Ngài chờ dậy, bước ra, đi vào nơi vắng vẻ, và cầu nguyện tại đó.

³⁶And Simon and they that were with him followed after him.

³⁶Si-môn cùng đồng bạn đi tìm Ngài.

³⁷And when they had found him, they said unto him, All men seek for thee.

³⁷Khi kiếm được thì thưa rằng: Hết thảy đương tìm thầy.

³⁸And he said unto them, Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also: for therefore came I forth.

³⁸Ngài phán: Chúng ta đi nơi khác, trong những làng xung quanh đây, để ta cũng giảng đạo ở đó nữa; vì ấy là cốt tại việc đó mà ta đã đến.

³⁹And he preached in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and cast out devils.

³⁹Ngài trải khắp xứ Ga-li-lê, giảng dạy trong các nhà hội và đuổi quỉ.

⁴⁰And there came a leper to him, beseeching him, and kneeling down to him, and saying unto him, If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.

⁴⁰Có một người phung đến cùng Ngài, quì xuống cầu xin rằng: Nếu Chúa khứng, có thể khiến tôi sạch được.

⁴¹And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean.

⁴¹Ðức Chúa Jêsus động lòng thương xót, giơ tay rờ người, mà phán rằng: Ta khứng, hãy sạch đi.

⁴²And as soon as he had spoken, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was cleansed.

⁴²Liền khi đó, phung lặn mất, người trở nên sạch.

⁴³And he straitly charged him, and forthwith sent him away;

⁴³tức thì Ðức Chúa Jêsus cho người ấy ra, lấy giọng nghiêm phán rằng:

⁴⁴And saith unto him, See thou say nothing to any man: but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing those things which Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.

⁴⁴Hãy giữ chớ tỏ điều đó cùng ai; song khá đi tỏ mình cùng thầy tế lễ, và vì người được sạch, hãy dâng của lễ theo như Môi-se dạy, để điều đó làm chứng cho họ.

⁴⁵But he went out, and began to publish it much, and to blaze abroad the matter, insomuch that Jesus could no more openly enter into the city, but was without in desert places: and they came to him from every quarter.

⁴⁵Nhưng người ấy đi, đồn việc đó ra, tới đâu cũng thuật chuyện, đến nỗi Chúa Jêsus không vào thành cách rõ ràng được nữa; song Ngài ở ngoài, tại nơi vắng vẻ; và người ta từ bốn phương đều đến cùng Ngài.
