¹And Jesus was walking after these things in Galilee, for he did not wish to walk in Judea, because the Jews were seeking to kill him,

¹ Ar �l hyn bu Iesu'n teithio o amgylch yng Ngalilea. Ni fynnai fynd o amgylch yn Jwdea, oherwydd yr oedd yr Iddewon yn chwilio amdano i'w ladd.

²and the feast of the Jews was nigh — that of tabernacles —

² Yr oedd gu373?yl yr Iddewon, gu373?yl y Pebyll, yn ymyl,

³his brethren, therefore, said unto him, `Remove hence, and go away to Judea, that thy disciples also may behold thy works that thou dost;

³ ac felly dywedodd ei frodyr wrtho, "Dylit adael y lle hwn a mynd i Jwdea, er mwyn i'th ddisgyblion hefyd weld y gweithredoedd yr wyt ti'n eu gwneud.

⁴for no one in secret doth anything, and himself seeketh to be in public; if thou dost these things — manifest thyself to the world;`

⁴ Oherwydd nid yw neb sy'n ceisio bod yn yr amlwg yn gwneud dim yn y dirgel. Os wyt yn gwneud y pethau hyn, dangos dy hun i'r byd."

⁵for not even were his brethren believing in him.

⁵ Nid oedd hyd yn oed ei frodyr yn credu ynddo.

⁶Jesus, therefore, saith to them, `My time is not yet present, but your time is always ready;

⁶ Felly dyma Iesu'n dweud wrthynt, "Nid yw'r amser yn aeddfed i mi eto, ond i chwi y mae unrhyw amser yn addas.

⁷the world is not able to hate you, but me it doth hate, because I testify concerning it that its works are evil.

⁷ Ni all y byd eich cas�u chwi, ond y mae'n fy nghas�u i am fy mod i'n tystio amdano fod ei weithredoedd yn ddrwg.

⁸Ye — go ye up to this feast; I do not yet go up to this feast, because my time hath not yet been fulfilled;`

⁸ Ewch chwi i fyny i'r u373?yl. Nid wyf fi'n mynd i fyny i'r u373?yl hon, oherwydd nid yw fy amser i wedi dod i'w gyflawniad eto."

⁹and saying these things to them, he remained in Galilee.

⁹ Wedi dweud hyn fe arhosodd ef yng Ngalilea.

¹⁰And when his brethren went up, then also he himself went up to the feast, not manifestly, but as in secret;

¹⁰ Ond pan oedd ei frodyr wedi mynd i fyny i'r u373?yl, fe aeth yntau hefyd i fyny, nid yn agored ond yn ddirgel, fel petai.

¹¹the Jews, therefore, were seeking him, in the feast, and said, `Where is that one?`

¹¹ Yr oedd yr Iddewon yn chwilio amdano yn yr u373?yl ac yn dweud, "Ble mae ef?"

¹²and there was much murmuring about him among the multitudes, some indeed said — `He is good;` and others said, `No, but he leadeth astray the multitude;`

¹² Yr oedd llawer o sibrwd amdano ymhlith y tyrfaoedd: rhai yn dweud, "Dyn da yw ef", ond "Na," meddai eraill, "twyllo'r bobl y mae."

¹³no one, however, was speaking freely about him, through fear of the Jews.

¹³ Er hynny, nid oedd neb yn siarad yn agored amdano, rhag ofn yr Iddewon.

¹⁴And it being now the middle of the feast, Jesus went up to the temple, and he was teaching,

¹⁴ Pan oedd yr u373?yl eisoes ar ei hanner, aeth Iesu i fyny i'r deml a dechrau dysgu.

¹⁵and the Jews were wondering, saying, `How hath this one known letters — not having learned?`

¹⁵ Yr oedd yr Iddewon yn rhyfeddu ac yn gofyn, "Sut y mae gan hwn y fath ddysg, ac yntau heb gael hyfforddiant?"

¹⁶Jesus answered them and said, `My teaching is not mine, but His who sent me;

¹⁶ Atebodd Iesu hwy, "Nid eiddof fi yw'r hyn yr wyf yn ei ddysgu, ond eiddo'r hwn a'm hanfonodd i.

¹⁷if any one may will to do His will, he shall know concerning the teaching, whether it is of God, or — I do speak from myself.

¹⁷ Pwy bynnag sy'n ewyllysio gwneud ei ewyllys ef, caiff wybod a yw'r hyn yr wyf yn ei ddysgu yn dod oddi wrth Dduw, ai ynteu siarad ohonof fy hunan yr wyf.

¹⁸`He who is speaking from himself his own glory doth seek, but he who is seeking the glory of him who sent him, this one is true, and unrighteousness is not in him;

¹⁸ Y mae'r sawl sy'n siarad ohono'i hun yn ceisio anrhydedd iddo'i hun; ond y mae'r sawl sy'n ceisio anrhydedd i'r hwn a'i hanfonodd yn ddiffuant ac yn ddiddichell.

¹⁹hath not Moses given you the law? and none of you doth the law; why me do ye seek to kill?`

¹⁹ Onid yw Moses wedi rhoi'r Gyfraith i chwi? Ac eto nid oes neb ohonoch yn cadw'r Gyfraith. Pam yr ydych yn ceisio fy lladd i?"

²⁰The multitude answered and said, `Thou hast a demon, who doth seek to kill thee?`

²⁰ Atebodd y dyrfa, "Y mae cythraul ynot. Pwy sy'n ceisio dy ladd di?"

²¹Jesus answered and said to them, `One work I did, and ye all wonder,

²¹ Meddai Iesu wrthynt, "Un weithred a wneuthum, ac yr ydych oll yn rhyfeddu o'r herwydd.

²²because of this, Moses hath given you the circumcision — not that it is of Moses, but of the fathers — and on a sabbath ye circumcise a man;

²² Rhoddodd Moses i chwi ddefod enwaediad � er nad gyda Moses y cychwynnodd ond gyda'r patriarchiaid � ac yr ydych yn enwaedu ar blentyn ar y Saboth.

²³if a man doth receive circumcision on a sabbath that the law of Moses may not be broken, are ye wroth with me that I made a man all whole on a sabbath?

²³ Os enwaedir ar blentyn ar y Saboth rhag torri Cyfraith Moses, a ydych yn ddig wrthyf fi am imi iach�u holl gorff rhywun ar y Saboth?

²⁴judge not according to appearance, but the righteous judgment judge.`

²⁴ Peidiwch � barnu yn �l yr olwg, ond yn �l safonau barn gyfiawn."

²⁵Certain, therefore, of the Jerusalemites said, `Is not this he whom they are seeking to kill?

²⁵ Yna dechreuodd rhai o drigolion Jerwsalem ddweud, "Onid hwn yw'r dyn y maent yn ceisio ei ladd?

²⁶and, lo, he doth speak freely, and they say nothing to him; did the rulers at all know truly that this is truly the Christ?

²⁶ A dyma fe'n siarad yn agored heb i neb ddweud dim yn ei erbyn. Tybed a yw'r llywodraethwyr wedi dod i wybod i sicrwydd mai hwn yw'r Meseia?

²⁷but this one — we have known whence he is; and the Christ, when he doth come, no one doth know whence he is.`

²⁷ Ac eto, fe wyddom ni o ble y mae'r dyn yma'n dod; ond pan ddaw'r Meseia, ni bydd neb yn gwybod o ble y mae'n dod."

²⁸Jesus cried, therefore, in the temple, teaching and saying, `Ye have both known me, and ye have known whence I am; and I have not come of myself, but He who sent me is true, whom ye have not known;

²⁸ Ar hynny, cyhoeddodd Iesu'n uchel, wrth ddysgu yn y deml, "Yr ydych yn f'adnabod i ac yn gwybod o ble rwy'n dod. Ond nid wyf wedi dod ohonof fy hun. Y mae'r hwn a'm hanfonodd i �'i hanfod yn wirionedd, ond nid ydych chwi'n ei adnabod ef.

²⁹and I have known Him, because I am from Him, and He did send me.`

²⁹ Yr wyf fi'n ei adnabod ef, oherwydd oddi wrtho ef y deuthum, ac ef a'm hanfonodd."

³⁰They were seeking, therefore, to seize him, and no one laid the hand on him, because his hour had not yet come,

³⁰ Am hynny ceisiasant ei ddal, ond ni osododd neb law arno, oherwydd nid oedd ei awr ef wedi dod eto.

³¹and many out of the multitude did believe in him, and said — `The Christ — when he may come — will he do more signs than these that this one did?`

³¹ Credodd llawer o blith y dyrfa ynddo, ac meddent, "A fydd y Meseia, pan ddaw, yn gwneud mwy o arwyddion nag a wnaeth y dyn hwn?"

³²The Pharisees heard the multitude murmuring these things concerning him, and the Pharisees and the chief priests sent officers that they may take him;

³² Clywodd y Phariseaid y dyrfa'n sibrwd y pethau hyn amdano. Ac fe anfonodd y prif offeiriaid a'r Phariseaid swyddogion i'w ddal ef.

³³Jesus, therefore, said to them, `Yet a little time I am with you, and I go away unto Him who sent me;

³³ Felly dywedodd Iesu, "Am ychydig amser eto y byddaf gyda chwi, ac yna af at yr hwn a'm hanfonodd i.

³⁴ye will seek me, and ye shall not find; and where I am, ye are not able to come.`

³⁴ Fe chwiliwch amdanaf fi, ond ni chewch hyd imi; lle yr wyf fi ni allwch chwi ddod."

³⁵The Jews, therefore, said among themselves, `Whither is this one about to go that we shall not find him? — to the dispersion of the Greeks is he about to go? and to teach the Greeks;

³⁵ Meddai'r Iddewon wrth ei gilydd, "I ble mae hwn ar fynd, fel na bydd i ni gael hyd iddo? A yw ar fynd, tybed, at y rhai sydd ar wasgar ymhlith y Groegiaid, a dysgu'r Groegiaid?

³⁶what is this word that he said, Ye will seek me, and ye shall not find? and, Where I am, ye are not able to come?`

³⁶ Beth yw ystyr y gair hwn a ddywedodd, 'Fe chwiliwch amdanaf fi, ond ni chewch hyd i mi; lle yr wyf fi, ni allwch chwi ddod'?"

³⁷And in the last, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, `If any one doth thirst, let him come unto me and drink;

³⁷ Ar ddydd olaf yr u373?yl, y dydd mawr, safodd Iesu a chyhoeddi'n uchel: "Pwy bynnag sy'n sychedig, deued ataf fi ac yfed.

³⁸he who is believing in me, according as the Writing said, Rivers out of his belly shall flow of living water;`

³⁸ Allan o'r sawl sy'n credu ynof fi, fel y dywedodd yr Ysgrythur, y bydd ffrydiau o ddu373?r bywiol yn llifo."

³⁹and this he said of the Spirit, which those believing in him were about to receive; for not yet was the Holy Spirit, because Jesus was not yet glorified.

³⁹ S�n yr oedd am yr Ysbryd yr oedd y rhai a gredodd ynddo ef yn mynd i'w dderbyn. Oherwydd nid oedd yr Ysbryd ganddynt eto, am nad oedd Iesu wedi cael ei ogoneddu eto.

⁴⁰Many, therefore out of the multitude, having heard the word, said, `This is truly the Prophet;`

⁴⁰ Ar �l ei glywed yn dweud hyn, meddai rhai o blith y dyrfa, "Hwn yn wir yw'r Proffwyd."

⁴¹others said, `This is the Christ;` and others said, `Why, out of Galilee doth the Christ come?

⁴¹ Meddai eraill, "Hwn yw'r Meseia." Ond meddai rhai, "Does bosibl mai o Galilea y mae'r Meseia yn dod?

⁴²Did not the Writing say, that out of the seed of David, and from Bethlehem — the village where David was — the Christ doth come?`

⁴² Onid yw'r Ysgrythur yn dweud mai o linach Dafydd ac o Fethlehem, y pentref lle'r oedd Dafydd yn byw, y daw'r Meseia?"

⁴³A division, therefore, arose among the multitude because of him.

⁴³ Felly bu ymraniad ymhlith y dyrfa o'i achos ef.

⁴⁴And certain of them were willing to seize him, but no one laid hands on him;

⁴⁴ Yr oedd rhai ohonynt yn awyddus i'w ddal, ond ni osododd neb ddwylo arno.

⁴⁵the officers came, therefore, unto the chief priests and Pharisees, and they said to them, `Wherefore did ye not bring him?`

⁴⁵ Daeth y swyddogion yn �l at y prif offeiriaid a'r Phariseaid, a gofynnodd y rheini iddynt, "Pam na ddaethoch ag ef yma?"

⁴⁶The officers answered, `Never so spake man — as this man.`

⁴⁶ Atebodd y swyddogion, "Ni lefarodd neb erioed fel hyn."

⁴⁷The Pharisees, therefore, answered them, `Have ye also been led astray?

⁴⁷ Yna dywedodd y Phariseaid, "A ydych chwithau hefyd wedi eich twyllo?

⁴⁸did any one out of the rulers believe in him? or out of the Pharisees?

⁴⁸ A oes unrhyw un o'r llywodraethwyr wedi credu ynddo, neu o'r Phariseaid?

⁴⁹but this multitude, that is not knowing the law, is accursed.`

⁴⁹ Ond y dyrfa yma nad yw'n gwybod dim am y Gyfraith, dan felltith y maent."

⁵⁰Nicodemus saith unto them — he who came by night unto him — being one of them,

⁵⁰ Yr oedd Nicodemus, y dyn oedd wedi dod ato o'r blaen, yn un ohonynt; meddai ef wrthynt,

⁵¹`Doth our law judge the man, if it may not hear from him first, and know what he doth?`

⁵¹ "A yw ein Cyfraith ni yn barnu rhywun heb roi gwrandawiad iddo yn gyntaf, a chael gwybod beth y mae'n ei wneud?"

⁵²They answered and said to him, `Art thou also out of Galilee? search and see, that a prophet out of Galilee hath not risen;`

⁵² Atebasant ef, "A wyt tithau hefyd yn dod o Galilea? Chwilia'r Ysgrythurau, a chei weld nad yw proffwyd byth yn codi o Galilea."

⁵³and each one went on to his house, but Jesus went on to the mount of the Olives.
