¹Become, then, followers of God, as children beloved,

¹તમે દેવના સંતાનો છો જેને દેવ ચાહે છે. તેથી દેવ જેવા થવાનો પ્રયત્ન કરો.

²and walk in love, as also the Christ did love us, and did give himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for an odour of a sweet smell,

²પ્રેમાળ જીવન જીવો અને જે રીતે ખ્રિસ્ત આપણને ચાહે છે, તે રીતે અન્ય લોકોને તમે ચાહો. ખ્રિસ્ત આપણે માટે સમર્પિત થયો દેવને અર્પિત તે એક સુમધુર બલિદાન હતું.

³and whoredom, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as becometh saints;

³પરંતુ તમારાંમાં વ્યભિચારનું પાપ, અને કોઈ પણ પ્રકારના અયોગ્ય કાર્યો ન હોવાં જોઈએ. અને વધુ ને વધુ મેળવવાની સ્વાર્થી ઈચ્છા પણ તમારામાં ન હોવી જોઈએ. શા માટે? કારણ કે આવી વસ્તુઓ સંતો માટે યોગ્ય નથી.

⁴also filthiness, and foolish talking, or jesting, — the things not fit — but rather thanksgiving;

⁴હાસ્યાસ્પદ નિર્લજ્જ મજાક પણ ન કરવી જોઈએ. આ બધી અયોગ્ય વસ્તુઓ કરવાને બદલે તમારે દેવની આભારસ્તુતિ કરવી જોઈએ.

⁵for this ye know, that every whoremonger, or unclean, or covetous person, who is an idolater, hath no inheritance in the reign of the Christ and God.

⁵તમારે એ વાતની ખાતરી રાખવી જોઈએ કે જે વ્યક્તિ વ્યભિચારનું પાપ કરે છે તેનું ખ્રિસ્તના રાજ્યમાં કોઈ સ્થાન નથી. જે વ્યક્તિ પોતાની જાત માટે વધુ ને વધુ લાલચો રાખે છે અને દુષ્ટ કાર્યો કરે છે અને વધારે ને વધારે ઈચ્છા રાખે છે તે જૂઠા દેવને ભજ્વા જેવું છે.

⁶Let no one deceive you with vain words, for because of these things cometh the anger of God upon the sons of the disobedience,

⁶તમને નિરર્થક વાતો કહીને કોઈ પણ વ્યક્તિ તમને મૂર્ખ ન બનાવે તેનું ધ્યાન રાખો. આવી અનિષ્ટ વસ્તુઓ દેવને એવા લોકો પ્રતિ ક્રોધિત બનાવે છે જેઓ આજ્ઞાંકિત નથી.

⁷become not, then, partakers with them,

⁷તેથી તેવાં લોકો સાથે આ પ્રકારનું વર્તન ન કરો.

⁸for ye were once darkness, and now light in the Lord; as children of light walk ye,

⁸ભૂતકાળમાં તમે અંધકારમય (પાપ) હતા. પરંતુ હવે તમે પ્રભુની જ્યોતથી પ્રકાશિત છો. તેથી પ્રકાશિત બાળકોની જેમ જીવો.

⁹for the fruit of the Spirit [is] in all goodness, and righteousness, and truth,

⁹પ્રકાશ દરેક પ્રકારની ભલાઈ, યોગ્ય જીવન અને સત્ય પ્રદાન કરે છે.

¹⁰proving what is well-pleasing to the Lord,

¹⁰પ્રભુને જે પસંદ છે તેવું ન્યાયીપણું શીખો.

¹¹and have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of the darkness and rather even convict,

¹¹અંધકારમા જીવતા લોકો જેવાં કામો ના કરો. કારણ કે આવા કામોથી કશું જ ઉચ્ચતમ ઉદભવતું નથી. અધારાના નિષ્ફળ કામોના સાથી ન બનો. પરંતુ તેઓને વખોડો.

¹²for the things in secret done by them it is a shame even to speak of,

¹²કેમ કે તેઓ ખાનગીમાં એવાં કામ કરે છે કે જે કહેતાં પણ શરમ લાગે છે.

¹³and all the things reproved by the light are manifested, for everything that is manifested is light;

¹³પરંતુ જ્યારે આપણે જોઈએ છીએ કે તે વસ્તુઓ ખરાબ છે ત્યારે પ્રકાશ તેની અનિષ્ટતાને વધુ સ્પષ્ટ રીતે ખૂલ્લી પાડે છે.

¹⁴wherefore he saith, `Arouse thyself, thou who art sleeping, and arise out of the dead, and the Christ shall shine upon thee.`

¹⁴અને બધી જ વસ્તુઓ જે આંખો વડે દશ્યમાન બનાવાય છે તે પ્રકાશિત બને છે.” તેથી જ અમે કહીએ છીએ: “ઓ નિદ્રાધીન વ્યક્તિ, તું જાગ! મૃત્યુમાંથી ઊભો થા, ખ્રિસ્ત તારા પર પ્રકાશિત થશે.”

¹⁵See, then, how exactly ye walk, not as unwise, but as wise,

¹⁵તેથી તમે કેવી રીતે જીવો છો તે વિષે ખૂબ જ ચોક્કસ બનો, અને નિર્બુદ્ધ લોકો જેવું જીવન ના જીવો પરંતુ તે લોકોના જેવું જીવન જીવો જે ડાક્યા છે.

¹⁶redeeming the time, because the days are evil;

¹⁶મારું કહેવું છે કે સુશીલ જીવન જીવવા દરેક સમયનો સદુપયોગ કરો કારણ કે આ અનિષ્ટ સમય છે.

¹⁷because of this become not fools, but — understanding what [is] the will of the Lord,

¹⁷તેથી તમારા જીવન પ્રત્યે મૂર્ખ વ્યવહાર ન કરો. પણ તેને બદલે પ્રભુ તમારી પાસે શું કાર્ય કરાવવા ઈચ્છે છે તે શીખો.

¹⁸and be not drunk with wine, in which is dissoluteness, but be filled in the Spirit,

¹⁸મદ્યપાન કરી મસ્ત ન બનો. તે તમારી આત્મિકતાનો નાશ કરશે. પરંતુ આત્માથી ભરપૂર થાઓ.

¹⁹speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord,

¹⁹ગીતોથી, સ્તોત્રોથી તથા આત્મિક ગાનોથી એકબીજાની સાથે વાતો કરો. તમારાં હૃદયોમાં પ્રભુનાં ગીતો અને ભજનો ગાઓ.

²⁰giving thanks always for all things, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to the God and Father;

²⁰હમેશા આપણા દેવ પિતા પ્રત્યે આભારી થાઓ, આપણા પ્રભુ ઈસુ ખ્રિસ્તના નામે તેનો દરેક વસ્તુ માટે આભાર પ્રદર્શિત કરો.

²¹subjecting yourselves to one another in the fear of God.

²¹તમે ખ્રિસ્તને માન આપો છો તેથી એકબીજાને સ્વૈચ્છિક રીતે આધિન થાઓ.

²²The wives! to your own husbands subject yourselves, as to the Lord,

²²પત્નીઓ, જે રીતે પ્રભૂની સત્તાને આધિન રહો છો તે રીતે તમારા પતિઓની સત્તાને આધિન રહો.

²³because the husband is head of the wife, as also the Christ [is] head of the assembly, and he is saviour of the body,

²³જે રીતે ખ્રિસ્ત મંડળીનો અધ્યક્ષ છે, તે રીતે પતિ પત્નીનો અધ્યક્ષ છે. મંડળી ખ્રિસ્તનું અંગ છે. અને ખ્રિસ્ત શરીરનો ત્રાતા છે.

²⁴but even as the assembly is subject to Christ, so also [are] the wives to their own husbands in everything.

²⁴મંડળી ખ્રિસ્તની અધ્યક્ષતા નીચે છે. અને તે જ રીતે બધી પત્નીઓ દરેક બાબતમાં તેમના પતિના અધ્યક્ષપણા નીચે હોવી જોઈએ.

²⁵The husbands! love your own wives, as also the Christ did love the assembly, and did give himself for it,

²⁵જે રીતે ખ્રિસ્ત મંડળીને ચાહે છે તે રીતે પતિએ પોતાની પત્નીને ચાહવી જોઈએ.

²⁶that he might sanctify it, having cleansed [it] with the bathing of the water in the saying,

²⁶ખ્રિસ્ત મંડળી માટે અને મંડળીને પવિત્ર કરવા મૃત્યુ પામ્યો. ખ્રિસ્તે સુવાર્તાનો ઉપયોગ કર્યો કે જેથી પાણીથી ધોયા જેવી નિર્મળ મંડળી તેની જાતને ભેટ કરી શકે.

²⁷that he might present it to himself the assembly in glory, not having spot or wrinkle, or any of such things, but that it may be holy and unblemished;

²⁷ખ્રિસ્ત મૃત્યુ પામ્યો કે જેથી તે પોતાની જાતને પૂર્ણ મહિમાવંત નવવધૂની જેમ મંડળીને અર્પણ કરી શકે. તે મૃત્યુ પામ્યો કે જેથી મંડળી કોઈ પણ ઉણપ, પાપ વગરની શુદ્ધ બને કે જેમાં બીજું કોઈ પણ ખોટું તેની સાથે હોય નહિ કે અનાચારી વસ્તુ ન હોય.

²⁸so ought the husbands to love their own wives as their own bodies: he who is loving his own wife — himself he doth love;

²⁸હરેક પતિએ પણ પોતે પોતાના શરીરને જે રીતે ચાહે છે તે રીતે તેની પત્નીને ચાહવી જોઈએ. જે પુરુંષ તેની પત્નીને ચાહે છે તે પોતાની જાતને ચાહે છે.

²⁹for no one ever his own flesh did hate, but doth nourish and cherish it, as also the Lord — the assembly,

²⁹શા માટે! કારણ કે કોઈપણ વ્યક્તિ પોતાના શરીરને ધિક્કારતી નથી. દરેક વ્યક્તિ પોતાના શરીરનુ પાલનપોષણ કરે છે અને તેની કાળજી રાખે છે અને ખ્રિસ્ત મંડળી માટે પણ આમ જ કરે છે.

³⁰because members we are of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones;

³⁰કારણ કે આપણે તેના શરીરના અવયવો છીએ.

³¹`for this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined to his wife, and they shall be — the two — for one flesh;`

³¹પવિત્ર શાસ્ત્ર તેથી જ આમ કહે છ કે, “માણસ પોતાના માતાપિતાને છોડશે અને તેની પત્ની સાથે જોડાશે. અને તેઓ બન્ને એક દેહ થશે.”

³²this secret is great, and I speak in regard to Christ and to the assembly;

³²હું ખ્રિસ્ત અને મંડળી વિષેના ગૂઢ સત્યની વાત કરું છું જે ખૂબ જ મહત્વનું છે.

³³but ye also, every one in particular — let each his own wife so love as himself, and the wife — that she may reverence the husband.

³³પરંતુ તમારામાંના પ્રત્યેકે તેની પત્નીને પોતાની જાતની જેમ પ્રેમ કરવો જોઈએ. અને દરેક પત્નીએ પોતાના પતિને માન આપવું જોઈએ.
