¹The children! obey your parents in the Lord, for this is righteous;

¹જે રીતે પ્રભૂની ઈચ્છા છે તે રીતે બાળકો, તમારા માતાપિતાના આજ્ઞાંકિત બનો, જે કરવું યોગ્ય છે.

²honour thy father and mother,

²“તમારે તમારા માતા અને પિતાને માન આપવું જોઈએ.” આ પહેલી આજ્ઞા છે જેની સાથે વચન સંલગ્ન છે.

³which is the first command with a promise, `That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live a long time upon the land.`

³તે વચન આ છે: “પછી તમારું બધું જ સારું થશે અને પૃથ્વી ઉપર તમને લાંબુ આયુષ્ય મળશે.”

⁴And the fathers! provoke not your children, but nourish them in the instruction and admonition of the Lord.

⁴પિતાઓ, તમારા બાળકો સાથે એવી રીતે ના વર્તો કે તેઓ ગુસ્સે થાય, તેને બદલે તેઓને સારી તાલીમ અને પ્રભુના શિક્ષણથી ઉછેરો.

⁵The servants! obey the masters according to the flesh with fear and trembling, in the simplicity of your heart, as to the Christ;

⁵દાસો, આ પૃથ્વી ઉપર તમારા માલિકને માન અને ભય સાથે અનુસરો. અને આમ સાચા હૃદયથી કરો; જે રીતે તમે ખ્રિસ્તને અનુસરો છો.

⁶not with eye-service as men-pleasers, but as servants of the Christ, doing the will of God out of soul,

⁶જ્યારે તમારો માલિક દેખરેખ રાખતો હોય ત્યારે જ ફક્ત તેને પ્રસન્ન કરવા તેની આજ્ઞાનું પાલન ના કરો. પણ તેથી વિશેષ કંઈ કરવાની જરૂર છે. તમે જેમ ખ્રિસ્તની આજ્ઞાનું પાલન કરો છો તેમ તેની આજ્ઞાનું પાલન કરો. દેવ જે ઈચ્છે છે તે તમારે સંપૂર્ણ હૃદયથી કરવું જોઈએ:

⁷with good-will serving, as to the Lord, and not to men,

⁷તમારું કામ પ્રસન્નતાથી કરો, જે રીતે તમે પ્રભુની સેવા કરો છો, માત્ર લોકોની સેવા કરો છો તે રીતે નહિ.

⁸having known that whatever good thing each one may do, this he shall receive from the Lord, whether servant or freeman.

⁸યાદ રાખો કે પ્રભુ પ્રત્યેકને, પછી તે દાસ હોય કે મુક્ત હોય તેમને જેવા શુભકામ કર્યા હોય, તેવો બદલો આપશે.

⁹And the masters! the same things do ye unto them, letting threatening alone, having known that also your Master is in the heavens, and acceptance of persons is not with him.

⁹[This verse may not be a part of this translation]

¹⁰As to the rest, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might;

¹⁰મારા પત્રને પૂરો કરતાં હું તમને પ્રભુમાં અને તેના સાર્મથ્યના બળમાં શક્તિમાન થવા કહું છું.

¹¹put on the whole armour of God, for your being able to stand against the wiles of the devil,

¹¹દેવનું સંપૂર્ણ બખ્તર (રક્ષણ) પહેરો કે જેથી તમે શેતાનની દુષ્ટ ચાલબાજી સામે લડી શકો.

¹²because we have not the wrestling with blood and flesh, but with the principalities, with the authorities, with the world-rulers of the darkness of this age, with the spiritual things of the evil in the heavenly places;

¹²આપણું આ યુદ્ધ આ પૃથ્વીના લોકો સામે નથી. પરંતુ આપણે તો અંધકારના અધિપતિઓની, અધિકારીઓ અને તેઓની સત્તાઓ સામે આકાશી સ્થાનોમાં દુષ્ટતાનાં આત્મિક લશ્કરો સામે આપણે લડી રહ્યા છીએ.

¹³because of this take ye up the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to resist in the day of the evil, and all things having done — to stand.

¹³અને તેથી તમે દેવનાં સર્વ હથિયારો સજી લો કે, જેથી ભૂંડા દિવસે તમે દઢે ઊભા રહી શકો અને તમે યુદ્ધ પૂરું કર્યા પછી પણ શક્તિવર્ધક હશો.

¹⁴Stand, therefore, having your loins girt about in truth, and having put on the breastplate of the righteousness,

¹⁴તેથી સત્યથી તમારી કમર બાંધો; અને પ્રામાણિક જીવન જીવીને તમારી છાતીનું રક્ષણ કરો.

¹⁵and having the feet shod in the preparation of the good-news of the peace;

¹⁵અને તમારા પગે શાંતિની સુવાર્તાની તૈયારીરૂપી જોડાં ધારણ કરો કે જેથી તમે શક્તિપૂર્વક ઊભા રહી શકો.

¹⁶above all, having taken up the shield of the faith, in which ye shall be able all the fiery darts of the evil one to quench,

¹⁶અને વિશ્વાસની ઢાલનો પણ ઉપયોગ કરો કે જેથી તમે દુષ્ટતા બળતા ભાલાઓ હોલવી શકશો.

¹⁷and the helmet of the salvation receive, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the saying of God,

¹⁷દેવના તારણને તમારા ટોપ તરીકે અપનાવો. અને આત્માની તલવાર, જે દેવનું વચન છે તે લો.

¹⁸through all prayer and supplication praying at all times in the Spirit, and in regard to this same, watching in all perseverance and supplication for all the saints —

¹⁸હમેશા આત્મામાં પ્રાર્થના કરો. હરવખત પ્રાર્થના તથા વિનંતી કરો અને તમારો જરૂરી બધી જ વસ્તુની યાચના કરો. આમ કરવા માટે હમેશા તૈયાર રહો. નિરુસ્તાહી થઈ છોડી ના દો અને પ્રભુના બધા સંતો માટે પ્રાર્થના કરો.

¹⁹and in behalf of me, that to me may be given a word in the opening of my mouth, in freedom, to make known the secret of the good news,

¹⁹અને મારા માટે પણ પ્રાર્થના કરો કે જ્યારે હું બોલું ત્યારે મને દેવ તરફથી શબ્દો પ્રદાન થાય કે જેથી ભય વિના સુવાર્તાના ગૂઢ સત્યને હું કહી શકું.

²⁰for which I am an ambassador in a chain, that in it I may speak freely — as it behoveth me to speak.

²⁰મારું કામ સુવાર્તા કહેવાનું છે અને તે હું અહી બંદીખાનામાંથી કરી રહ્યો છું. પ્રાર્થના કરો કે જ્યારે હું સુવાર્તાનો ઉપદેશ આપું ત્યારે ભય વિના મારે જે રીતે આપવો જોઈએ તે રીતે આપું.

²¹And that ye may know — ye also — the things concerning me — what I do, all things make known to you shall Tychicus, the beloved brother and faithful ministrant in the Lord,

²¹હું તમારી પાસે અમારા ભાઈ તુખિકસને મોકલું છું, જેને અમે ચાહીએ છીએ. તે પ્રભુના કાર્ય પ્રત્યે વિશ્વાસુ સેવક છે. મારા પ્રત્યે જે કઈ બની રહ્યુ છે તે બધું તે તમને કહેશે જેથી તમને ખબર પડશે કે હું કેમ છું અને શું કરી રહ્યુ છું.

²²whom I did send unto you for this very thing, that ye might know the things concerning us, and that he might comfort your hearts.

²²મારી ઈચ્છા છે કે તમે જાણો કે અમે કેમ છીએ અને તમને હિંમત આપવા હું તેને મોકલી રહ્યો છું.

²³Peace to the brethren, and love, with faith, from God the Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ!

²³દેવ બાપ અને પ્રભુ ખ્રિસ્ત તરફથી તમને શાંતિ તથા વિશ્વાસસહિત પ્રીતિ થાઓ.

²⁴The grace with all those loving our Lord Jesus Christ — undecayingly! Amen.

²⁴તમે બધા કે જેઓ આપણા પ્રભુ ઈસુ ખ્રિસ્ત ઉપર નિષ્કપટ પ્રીતિ રાખો છો તેઓ પર દેવની કૃપા થાઓ. આમીન.
