1Remind them to be subject to principalities and authorities, to obey rule, unto every good work to be ready,
1הזכר אתם להכנע ולשמע לשרים ולשלטונים ולהיות נכונים לכל מעשה טוב׃
2of no one to speak evil, not to be quarrelsome -- gentle, showing all meekness to all men,
2ולבלתי גדף אדם ולחדל מריב ולהכריע לכף זכות ולהתנהג בכל ענוה לפני כל אדם׃
3for we were once -- also we -- thoughtless, disobedient, led astray, serving desires and pleasures manifold, in malice and envy living, odious -- hating one another;
3כי גם אנחנו היינו מלפנים חסרי דעת וסוררים ותועים ועבדים לתאות ולתשוקות שנות ומתהלכים ברשעה וקנאה ושנואים ושנאים איש את אחיו׃
4and when the kindness and the love to men of God our Saviour did appear
4אמנם כאשר נגלה נעם אלהים מושיענו ורחמנותו אל האדם׃
5(not by works that [are] in righteousness that we did but according to His kindness,) He did save us, through a bathing of regeneration, and a renewing of the Holy Spirit,
5אז לא בגלל מעשי הצדקה אשר עשינו הושיע אתנו כי אם מתוך חסדו על ידי טבילת התולדה השניה וחדוש רוח הקדש׃
6which He poured upon us richly, through Jesus Christ our Saviour,
6אשר שפך עלינו למכביר על ידי ישוע המשיח מושיענו׃
7that having been declared righteous by His grace, heirs we may become according to the hope of life age-during.
7למען נצדק בחסדו ונירש לפי התקוה את חיי העולמים׃
8Stedfast [is] the word; and concerning these things I counsel thee to affirm fully, that they may be thoughtful, to be leading in good works -- who have believed God; these are the good and profitable things to men,
8נאמן הוא הדבר ורצה אני כי תקים את אלה למען אשר ישתדלו המאמינים לאלהים לעשק במעשים טובים עשות כאלה טוב הוא ומועיל לאדם׃
9and foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about law, stand away from -- for they are unprofitable and vain.
9אבל תרחק מן השאלות התפלות ומלמודי תולדות ומן הקטטות ומחלקות בעניני החקים כי אין בהן מועיל והבל הנה׃
10A sectarian man, after a first and second admonition be rejecting,
10ואיש החולק על האמונה אם הוכח פעם ושתים שטה מעליו׃
11having known that he hath been subverted who [is] such, and doth sin, being self-condemned.
11ודע כי איש כזה איש תהפכות הוא וחוטא בהרשיע את נפשו׃
12When I shall send Artemas unto thee, or Tychicus, be diligent to come unto me to Nicopolis, for there to winter I have determined.
12כאשר אשלח אליך את ארטמס או את טוכיקוס תמהר לבוא אלי לניקפליס כי גמרתי בלבי לשבת שם בימי הסתיו׃
13Zenas the lawyer and Apollos bring diligently on their way, that nothing to them may be lacking,
13השתדל ללות על דרכם את זינס המלמד בתורה ואת אפולוס למען לא יחסרו דבר׃
14and let them learn -- ours also -- to be leading in good works to the necessary uses, that they may not be unfruitful.
14וילמדו גם אנשי עדתנו לעשק במעשים טובים לעזר בכל מחסור פן יהיו בלי פרי׃
15Salute thee do all those with me; salute those loving us in faith; the grace [is] with you all!
15כל אשר עמדי שאלים לשלומך שאל לשלום האהבים אתנו באמונה החסד עם כלכם אמן׃
