1A soft answer turneth back fury, And a grievous word raiseth up anger.
1മൃദുവായ ഉത്തരം ക്രോധത്തെ ശമിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; കഠിനവാക്കോ കോപത്തെ ജ്വലിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.
2The tongue of the wise maketh knowledge good, And the mouth of fools uttereth folly.
2ജ്ഞാനിയുടെ നാവു നല്ല പരിജ്ഞാനം പ്രസ്താവിക്കുന്നു. മൂഢന്മാരുടെ വായോ ഭോഷത്വം പൊഴിക്കുന്നു.
3In every place are the eyes of Jehovah, Watching the evil and the good.
3യഹോവയുടെ കണ്ണു എല്ലാടവും ഉണ്ടു; ആകാത്തവരെയും നല്ലവരെയും നോക്കിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.
4A healed tongue [is] a tree of life, And perverseness in it — a breach in the spirit.
4നാവിന്റെ ശാന്തത ജീവവൃക്ഷം; അതിന്റെ വക്രതയോ മനോവ്യസനം.
5A fool despiseth the instruction of his father, And whoso is regarding reproof is prudent.
5ഭോഷന് അപ്പന്റെ പ്രബോധനം നിരസിക്കുന്നു; ശാസനയെ കൂട്ടാക്കുന്നവനോ വിവേകിയായ്തീരും.
6[In] the house of the righteous [is] abundant strength, And in the increase of the wicked — trouble.
6നീതിമാന്റെ വീട്ടില് വളരെ നിക്ഷേപം ഉണ്ടു; ദുഷ്ടന്റെ ആദായത്തിലോ അനര്ത്ഥം.
7The lips of the wise scatter knowledge, And the heart of fools [is] not right.
7ജ്ഞാനികളുടെ അധരങ്ങള് പരിജ്ഞാനം വിതറുന്നു; മൂഢന്മാരുടെ ഹൃദയമോ നേരുള്ളതല്ല.
8The sacrifice of the wicked [is] an abomination to Jehovah, And the prayer of the upright [is] His delight.
8ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ യാഗം യഹോവേക്കു വെറുപ്പു; നേരുള്ളവരുടെ പ്രാര്ത്ഥനയോ അവന്നു പ്രസാദം.
9An abomination to Jehovah [is] the way of the wicked, And whoso is pursuing righteousness He loveth.
9ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ വഴി യഹോവേക്കു വെറുപ്പു; എന്നാല് നീതിയെ പിന്തുടരുന്നവനെ അവന് സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നു.
10Chastisement [is] grievous to him who is forsaking the path, Whoso is hating reproof dieth.
10സന്മാര്ഗ്ഗം ത്യജിക്കുന്നവന്നു കഠിനശിക്ഷ വരും; ശാസന വെറുക്കുന്നവന് മരിക്കും.
11Sheol and destruction [are] before Jehovah, Surely also the hearts of the sons of men.
11പാതാളവും നരകവും യഹോവയുടെ ദൃഷ്ടിയില് ഇരിക്കുന്നു; മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്മാരുടെ ഹൃദയങ്ങള് എത്ര അധികം!
12A scorner loveth not his reprover, Unto the wise he goeth not.
12പരിഹാസി ശാസന ഇഷ്ടപ്പെടുന്നില്ല; ജ്ഞാനികളുടെ അടുക്കല് ചെല്ലുന്നതുമില്ല.
13A joyful heart maketh glad the face, And by grief of heart is the spirit smitten.
13സന്തോഷമുള്ള ഹൃദയം മുഖപ്രസാദമുണ്ടാക്കുന്നു; ഹൃദയത്തിലെ വ്യസനംകൊണ്ടോ ധൈര്യം ക്ഷയിക്കുന്നു.
14The heart of the intelligent seeketh knowledge, And the mouth of fools enjoyeth folly.
14വിവേകമുള്ളവന്റെ ഹൃദയം പരിജ്ഞാനം അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നു; മൂഢന്മാരുടെ വായോ ഭോഷത്വം ആചരിക്കുന്നു.
15All the days of the afflicted [are] evil, And gladness of heart [is] a perpetual banquet.
15അരിഷ്ടന്റെ ജീവനാള് ഒക്കെയും കഷ്ടകാലം; സന്തുഷ്ടഹൃദയന്നോ നിത്യം ഉത്സവം.
16Better [is] a little with the fear of Jehovah, Than much treasure, and tumult with it.
16ബഹു നിക്ഷേപവും അതിനോടുകൂടെ കഷ്ടതയും ഉള്ളതിനെക്കാള് യഹോവാഭക്തിയോടുകൂടെ അല്പധനം ഉള്ളതു നന്നു.
17Better [is] an allowance of green herbs and love there, Than a fatted ox, and hatred with it.
17ദ്വേഷമുള്ളെടത്തെ തടിപ്പിച്ച കാളയെക്കാള് സ്നേഹമുള്ളെടത്തെ ശാകഭോജനം നല്ലതു.
18A man of fury stirreth up contention, And the slow to anger appeaseth strife.
18ക്രോധമുള്ള കലഹം ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നു; ദീര്ഘക്ഷമയുള്ളവനോ കലഹം ശമിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.
19The way of the slothful [is] as a hedge of briers, And the path of the upright is raised up.
19മടിയന്റെ വഴി മുള്ളുവേലിപോലെയാകുന്നു; നീതിമാന്മാരുടെ പാതയോ പെരുവഴി തന്നേ.
20A wise son rejoiceth a father. And a foolish man is despising his mother.
20ജ്ഞാനമുള്ള മകന് അപ്പനെ സന്തോഷിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; മൂഢനോ അമ്മയെ നിന്ദിക്കുന്നു.
21Folly is joy to one lacking heart, And a man of intelligence directeth [his] going.
21ഭോഷത്വം ബുദ്ധിഹീനന്നു സന്തോഷം; വിവേകിയോ ചൊവ്വായി നടക്കുന്നു.
22Without counsel [is] the making void of purposes, And in a multitude of counsellors it is established.
22ആലോചന ഇല്ലാഞ്ഞാല് ഉദ്ദേശങ്ങള് സാധിക്കാതെ പോകുന്നു; ആലോചനക്കാരുടെ ബഹുത്വത്താലോ അവ സാധിക്കുന്നു.
23Joy [is] to a man in the answer of his mouth, And a word in its season — how good!
23താന് പറയുന്ന ഉത്തരം ഹേതുവായി മനുഷ്യന്നു സന്തോഷം വരും; തക്കസമയത്തു പറയുന്ന വാക്കു എത്ര മനോഹരം!
24A path of life [is] on high for the wise, To turn aside from Sheol beneath.
24ബുദ്ധിമാന്റെ ജീവയാത്ര മേലോട്ടാകുന്നു; കീഴെയുള്ള പാതാളത്തെ അവന് ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോകും.
25The house of the proud Jehovah pulleth down, And He setteth up the border of the widow.
25അഹങ്കാരിയുടെ വീടു യഹോവ പൊളിച്ചുകളയും; വിധവയുടെ അതിരോ അവന് ഉറപ്പിക്കും.
26An abomination to Jehovah [are] thoughts of wickedness, And pure [are] sayings of pleasantness.
26ദുരുപായങ്ങള് യഹോവേക്കു വെറുപ്പു; ദയാവാക്കോ നിര്മ്മലം.
27A dishonest gainer is troubling his house, And whoso is hating gifts liveth.
27ദുരാഗ്രഹി തന്റെ ഭവനത്തെ വലെക്കുന്നു; കോഴ വെറുക്കുന്നവനോ ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കും.
28The heart of the righteous meditateth to answer, And the mouth of the wicked uttereth evil things.
28നീതിമാന് മനസ്സില് ആലോചിച്ചു ഉത്തരം പറയുന്നു; ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ വായോ ദോഷങ്ങളെ പൊഴിക്കുന്നു.
29Far [is] Jehovah from the wicked, And the prayer of the righteous He heareth.
29യഹോവ ദുഷ്ടന്മാരോടു അകന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; നീതിമാന്മാരുടെ പ്രാര്ത്ഥനയോ അവന് കേള്ക്കുന്നു.
30The light of the eyes rejoiceth the heart, A good report maketh fat the bone.
30കണ്ണിന്റെ ശോഭ ഹൃദയത്തെ സന്തോഷിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; നല്ല വര്ത്തമാനം അസ്ഥികളെ തണുപ്പിക്കുന്നു.
31An ear that is hearing the reproof of life Doth lodge among the wise.
31ജീവാര്ത്ഥമായ ശാസന കേള്ക്കുന്ന ചെവിയുള്ളവന് ജ്ഞാനികളുടെ മദ്ധ്യേ വസിക്കും.
32Whoso is refusing instruction is despising his soul, And whoso is hearing reproof Is getting understanding.
32പ്രബോധനം ത്യജിക്കുന്നവന് തന്റെ പ്രാണനെ നിരസിക്കുന്നു; ശാസന കേട്ടനുസരിക്കുന്നവനോ വിവേകം സമ്പാദിക്കുന്നു.
33The fear of Jehovah [is] the instruction of wisdom, And before honour [is] humility!
33യഹോവാഭക്തി ജ്ഞാനോപദേശമാകുന്നു; മാനത്തിന്നു വിനയം മുന്നോടിയാകുന്നു.
