1To the Overseer. — A Psalm of David. Hear, O God, my voice, in my meditation, From the fear of an enemy Thou keepest my life,
1ദൈവമേ, എന്റെ സങ്കടത്തില് ഞാന് കഴിക്കുന്ന അപേക്ഷ കേള്ക്കേണമേ; ശത്രുഭയത്തില്നിന്നു എന്റെ ജീവനെ പാലിക്കേണമേ;
2Hidest me from the secret counsel of evil doers, From the tumult of workers of iniquity.
2ദുഷ്കര്മ്മികളുടെ ഗൂഢാലോചനയിലും നീതികേടു പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കുന്നവരുടെ കലഹത്തിലും ഞാന് അകപ്പെടാതവണ്ണം എന്നെ മറെച്ചു കൊള്ളേണമേ.
3Who sharpened as a sword their tongue, They directed their arrow — a bitter word.
3അവര് തങ്ങളുടെ നാവിനെ വാള്പോലെ മൂര്ച്ചയാക്കുന്നു; നിഷ്കളങ്കനെ ഒളിച്ചിരുന്നു എയ്യേണ്ടതിന്നു
4To shoot in secret places the perfect, Suddenly they shoot him, and fear not.
4അവര് കൈപ്പുള്ള വാക്കായ അസ്ത്രം തൊടുക്കയും ശങ്കിക്കാതെ പെട്ടെന്നു അവനെ എയ്തുകളകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.
5They strengthen for themselves an evil thing, They recount of the hiding of snares, They have said, `Who doth look at it?`
5ദുഷ്കാര്യത്തില് അവര് തങ്ങളെ തന്നേ ഉറപ്പിക്കുന്നു; ഒളിച്ചു കണിവേക്കുവാന് തമ്മില് പറഞ്ഞൊക്കുന്നു; നമ്മെ ആര് കാണും എന്നു അവര് പറയുന്നു.
6They search out perverse things, `We perfected a searching search,` And the inward part of man, and the heart [are] deep.
6അവര് ദ്രോഹസൂത്രങ്ങളെ കണ്ടുപിടിക്കുന്നു; നമുക്കു ഒരു സൂക്ഷ്മസൂത്രം സാധിച്ചുപോയി എന്നു പറയുന്നു; ഔരോരുത്തന്റെ അന്തരംഗവും ഹൃദയവും അഗാധം തന്നേ.
7And God doth shoot them [with] an arrow, Sudden have been their wounds,
7എന്നാല് ദൈവം അവരെ എയ്യും; അമ്പുകൊണ്ടു അവര് പെട്ടന്നു മുറിവേലക്കും.
8And they cause him to stumble, Against them [is] their own tongue, Every looker on them fleeth away.
8അങ്ങനെ സ്വന്തനാവു അവര്ക്കും വിരോധമായിരിക്കയാല് അവര് ഇടറിവീഴുവാന് ഇടയാകും; അവരെ കാണുന്നവരൊക്കെയും തല കുലുക്കുന്നു.
9And all men fear, and declare the work of God, And His deed they have considered wisely.
9അങ്ങനെ സകലമനുഷ്യരും ഭയപ്പെട്ടു ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തിയെ പ്രസ്താവിക്കും; അവന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തിയെ അവര് ചിന്തിക്കും.
10The righteous doth rejoice in Jehovah, And hath trusted in Him, And boast themselves do all the upright of heart!
10നീതിമാന് യഹോവയില് ആനന്ദിച്ചു അവനെ ശരണമാക്കും; ഹൃദയപരമാര്ത്ഥികള് എല്ലാവരും പുകഴും. (സംഗീതപ്രമാണിക്കു ഒരു സങ്കീര്ത്തനം; ദാവീദിന്റെ ഒരു ഗീതം.)
