1And he maketh for himself houses in the city of David, and prepareth a place for the ark of God, and stretcheth out for it a tent.
1दावीदाने दावीदानगरात स्वत:साठी घरे बांधली. तसेच करारकोश ठेवण्यासाठी एक स्थान उभारले. ते एका तंबूसारखे होते.
2Then said David, `None [are] to carry the ark of God, except the Levites, for on them hath Jehovah fixed to carry the ark of God, and to serve Him — unto the age.`
2मग दावीद म्हणाला, “फक्त लेवींनाच करारकोश वाहून आणण्याची परवानगी आहे. या कामासाठी आणि सर्वकाल परमेश्वराची सेवा करण्यासाठीच लेवींची निवड झाली आहे.”
3And David assembleth all Israel unto Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of Jehovah unto its place that he had prepared for it.

4And David gathereth the sons of Aaron, and the Levites.

5Of sons of Kohath: Uriel the chief, and his brethren, a hundred and twenty.
5कहाथच्या घराण्यातील 120 माणसे होती. उरीयेल त्यांचा प्रमुख होता.
6Of sons of Merari: Asaiah the chief, and his brethren, two hundred and twenty.
6मरारीच्या कुळातले. 220 जण होते. असाया हा त्यांचा नेता होता.
7Of sons of Gershom: Joel the chief, and his brethren, a hundred and thirty.
7गर्षोमच्या घराण्यातली 130 लोक असून, योएल हा त्यांचा प्रमुख होता.
8Of sons of Elizaphan: Shemaiah the chief, and his brethren, two hundred.
8अलीसाफानच्या घराण्यापैकी 200 लोक होते. त्यांचा नेता शमाया होता.
9Of sons of Hebron: Eliel the chief, and his brethren, eighty.
9हेब्रोनच्या वंशातले 80 लोक होते. अलीएल त्यांच्या नेता होता.
10Of sons of Uzziel: Amminadab the chief, and his brethren, a hundred and twelve.
10उज्जियेलच्या घराण्यातले 112 जण असून अमीनादाब हा प्रमुख होता.
11And David calleth to Zadok and to Abiathar the priests, and to the Levites, to Uriel, Asaiah, and Joel, Shemaiah, and Eliel, and Amminadab,
11दावीदाने मग सादोक आणि अब्याथार याजकांना बोलावले. तसेच उरीयेल, असाया, योएल, शमाया, अलीएल आणि अम्मीनादाब या लेवीनाही बोलावून घेतले.
12and saith to them, `Ye [are] heads of the fathers of the Levites; sanctify yourselves, ye and your brethren, and ye have brought up the ark of Jehovah, God of Israel, unto [the place] I have prepared for it;
12दावीद त्यांना म्हणाला, “तुम्ही लेवी घराण्यांचे प्रमुख आहात. तुम्ही आणि सर्व लेवींनी शुचिर्भूत झाले पाहिजे. त्यानंतर मी तयार केलेल्या जागेत तुम्ही तो करारकोश आणा.
13because at the first [it was] not ye, Jehovah our God made a breach upon us, because we sought Him not according to the ordinance.`

14And the priests and the Levites sanctify themselves, to bring up the ark of Jehovah, God of Israel;
14इस्राएलच्या परमेश्वर देवाचा करारकोश आणता यावा यासाठी मग सर्व याजक आणि लेवी शुचिर्भूत झाले.
15and sons of the Levites bear the ark of God, as Moses commanded, according to the word of Jehovah, on their shoulder, with staves, above them.
15मोशेने सांगितले होते त्याप्रमाणे करारकोश खांद्यावरुन आणण्यासाठी लेवींनी विशेष प्रकारच्या काठ्या घेतल्या. परमेश्वराने सांगितल्याप्रमाणेच त्यांनी तो करारकोश आणला.
16And David saith to the heads of the Levites to appoint their brethren the singers, with instruments of song, psalteries, and harps, and cymbals, sounding, to lift up with the voice for joy.
16दावीदाने लेवी प्रमुखांना आपल्या गायकबंधूंना बोलावून घ्यायला सांगितले. सतार, वीणा, झांजा ही वाद्ये आणून त्यांना मंगलगीते म्हणायला सांगितले.
17And the Levites appoint Heman son of Joel, and of his brethren, Asaph son of Berechiah, and of the sons of Merari their brethren, Ethan son of Kushaiah;
17लेवींनी मग हेमान आणि त्याचे भाऊ आसाफ आणि एथान यांना नेमले. हेमान हा योएलचा मुलगा. आसाफ बरेख्याचा मुलगा. एथान कुसायाचा मुलगा. हे सर्वजण मरारीच्या घराण्यातले होते.
18and with them their brethren, the seconds [in rank], Zechariah, Ben, and Jaaziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, Eliab, and Benaiah, and Maaseiah, and Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneiah; and Obed-Edom and Jeiel the gatekeepers;
18याखेरीज लेवींचा आणखी एक गट होता. जखऱ्या, बेन, यजीएल, शमीरामोथ, यहीएल, उन्न, अलीयाब, बनाया, मासेमा, मत्तिथ्या, अलीफलेह, मिकनेया, ओबेद-अदोम आणि ईयेल हे ते होत. हे द्वारपाल होते.
19and the singers, Heman, Asaph, and Ethan, with cymbals of brass to sound,

20and Zechariah, and Aziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jeheil, and Unni, and Eliab, and Maaseiah, and Benaiah, with psalteries besides virgins,

22And Chenaniah, head of the Levites, [is] over the burden; he instructeth about the burden, for he [is] intelligent.
22लेवींचा प्रमुख कनन्या हा मुख्य गायक होता. गायनात निपुण असल्यामुळे त्याच्यावर ही कामगिरी होती.
23And Berechiah and Elkanah [are] gatekeepers for the ark.
23बरेख्या आणि एलकाना हे करार कोशाचे रक्षक होते.
24And Shebaniah, and Joshaphat, and Nethaneel, and Amasai, and Zechariah, and Benaiah, and Eliezer the priests, are blowing with trumpets before the ark of God; and Obed-Edom and Jehiah [are] gatekeepers for the ark.

25And it is David, and the elders of Israel, and the heads of the thousands, who are going to bring up the ark of the covenant of Jehovah from the house of Obed-Edom with joy;

26and it cometh to pass, in God`s helping the Levites bearing the ark of the covenant of Jehovah, that they sacrifice seven bullocks and seven rams.
26करार कोश उचलून आणणाऱ्यांना देवाने साहाय्य केले. त्यांनी सात गोऱ्हे आणि सात मेंढे यांचे यज्ञार्पण केले.
27And David is wrapped in an upper robe of fine linen, and all the Levites who are bearing the ark, and the singers, and Chenaniah head of the burden of the singers; and on David [is] an Ephod of linen.

28And all Israel are bringing up the ark of the covenant of Jehovah with shouting, and with the sound of a cornet, and with trumpets, and with cymbals, sounding with psalteries and harps,
28अखेर सर्व इस्राएल लोकांनी करार कोश आणला. जयघोष करत रण-शिंगाच्या नादांत, कर्णे, झांजा, सतारी, वीणा वाजवत त्यांनी तो आणला.
29and it cometh to pass, the ark of the covenant of Jehovah is entering in unto the city of David, and Michal daughter of Saul is looking through the window, and seeth king David dancing and playing, and despiseth him in her heart.
29करार कोश दावीदनगरात पोहंचला तेव्हा शौलची मुलगी मीखल हिने खिडकीतून पाहिले. दावीद राजाला नाचताना, जल्लोष करताना पाहून त्याच्याबद्दलचा तिचा आदर नाहीसा झाला. तिला त्याचा तो वेडगळपणा वाटला.
