¹And it cometh to pass, at the end of two years of days that Pharaoh is dreaming, and lo, he is standing by the River,

¹दोन वर्षानंतर फारो राजाला स्वप्न पडले;ते असे की तो नाईल नदीच्या काठी उभा राहिला होता.

²and lo, from the River coming up are seven kine, of fair appearance, and fat [in] flesh, and they feed among the reeds;

²तेव्हा त्याने सात गाई नाईल नदीतून बाहेर येताना पाहिल्या. त्या धुष्टपुष्ट व सुंदर होत्या. त्या तेथे उभ्या राहून गवत खात होत्या.

³and lo, seven other kine are coming up after them out of the River, of bad appearance, and lean [in] flesh, and they stand near the kine on the edge of the River,

³त्यानंतर आणखी सात रोड व कुरुप गाई नदीतून बाहेर आल्या व त्या सात धष्टपुष्ट व सुंदर गाईच्या बाजूला उभ्या राहिल्या.

⁴and the kine of bad appearance and lean [in] flesh eat up the seven kine of fair appearance, and fat — and Pharaoh awaketh.

⁴आणि त्या सात दुबळ्या व कुरुप गाईनी त्या सात सुंदर व धष्टपुष्ठ गाईना खाऊन टाकले. त्या नंतर फारो राजा जागा झाला.

⁵And he sleepeth, and dreameth a second time, and lo, seven ears are coming up on one stalk, fat and good,

⁵मग फारो राजा पुन्हा झोपल्यावर त्याला दुसऱ्यांदा स्वप्न पडले; त्यात त्याने पाहिले की एकाच ताटाला सात भरदार कणसे आली.

⁶and lo, seven ears, thin, and blasted with an east wind, are springing up after them;

⁶त्या नंतर त्या ताटाला सात खुरटलेली व करपलेली अशी सात कणसे आली.

⁷and the thin ears swallow the seven fat and full ears — and Pharaoh awaketh, and lo, a dream.

⁷नंतर त्या सात खुरटलेल्या व करपलेल्या कणसांनी ती सात चांगली व टपोऱ्या दाण्यांची भरदार कणसे गिळून टाकली; तेव्हा फारो पुन्हा जागा झाला आणि ते तर स्वप्न असल्याचे त्याला समजले.

⁸And it cometh to pass in the morning, that his spirit is moved, and he sendeth and calleth all the scribes of Egypt, and all its wise men, and Pharaoh recounteth to them his dream, and there is no interpreter of them to Pharaoh.

⁸दुसऱ्या दिवशी सकाळ झाल्यावर फारो राजा त्या स्वप्नामुळे चिंतेत पडून बेचैन झाला व त्याने पंडितांना बोलावले; फारोने आपली स्वप्ने त्यांना सांगितली; परंतु त्यांतील कोणालाच त्या स्वप्नांच अर्थ सांगता आला नाही किंवा त्याचा उलगडा करता आला नाही.

⁹And the chief of the butlers speaketh with Pharaoh, saying, `My sin I mention this day:

⁹तेव्हा प्यालेबरदाराला योसेफाची आठवण आली. तो फारोस म्हणाला, “माझ्या बाबतीत जे घडले त्याची मला आठवण येत आहे;

¹⁰Pharaoh hath been wroth against his servants, and giveth me into charge in the house of the chief of the executioners, me and the chief of the bakers;

¹⁰आपण माझ्यावर व आचाऱ्यावर संतापला होता आणि आपण आम्हांस तुरुंगात टाकले होते.

¹¹and we dream a dream in one night, I and he, each according to the interpretation of his dream we have dreamed.

¹¹तेव्हा तुरुंगात असताना एकाच रात्री आम्हा दोघांना स्वप्ने पडली. प्रत्येक स्वप्नाचा अर्थ वेगळा होता.

¹²And there [is] with us a youth, a Hebrew, servant to the chief of the executioners, and we recount to him, and he interpreteth to us our dreams, [to] each according to his dream hath he interpreted,

¹²तेथे कोणी इब्री तरुण आमच्या बरोबर कैदेत होता. तो गारदद्यांच्या सरदाराचा दास होता. त्याला आम्ही आमची स्वप्ने सांगितली त्याने त्यांचे स्पष्टीकरण केले आणि त्याने आमच्या स्वप्नांचा अर्थ सांगितला व उलगडा केला.

¹³and it cometh to pass, as he hath interpreted to us so it hath been, me he put back on my station, and him he hanged.`

¹³1आणि त्याने सांगितलेला अर्थ खरा ठरला. तो म्हणाला की माझी सुटका होईल व मला पूर्वीप्रमाणे माझ्या कामावर पुन्हा घेतले जाईल आणि अगदी त्याप्रमाणे खरेच घडून आले; आणि तो म्हणाला की आचारी मरेल आणि त्याप्रमाणे तेही खरे झाले.”

¹⁴And Pharaoh sendeth and calleth Joseph, and they cause him to run out of the pit, and he shaveth, and changeth his garments, and cometh in unto Pharaoh.

¹⁴मग फारोने योसेफाला तुरुंगातून आणण्यास बोलावणे पाठवले. तेव्हा गारद्यांनी योसेफाल ताबडतोब तुरुंगातून बाहेर आणले. योसेफ दाढी करुन व स्वच्छ कपडे बदलून फारोपुढे येऊन उभा राहिला.

¹⁵And Pharaoh saith unto Joseph, `A dream I have dreamed, and there is no interpreter of it, and I — I have heard concerning thee, saying, Thou understandest a dream to interpret it,`

¹⁵मग फारो योसेफास म्हणाला, “मला स्वप्न पडले आहे, परंतु त्याचा अर्थ सांगणारा कोणी नाही. मी तुझ्याविषयी ऐकले की जो कोणी तुला स्वप्न सांगतो तेव्हा तू लगेच स्वप्नांचा अर्थ सांगतोस.”

¹⁶and Joseph answereth Pharaoh, saying, `Without me — God doth answer Pharaoh with peace.`

¹⁶योसेफ म्हणाला, “मी माझ्या कौशल्याने किंवा हुशारीने स्वप्नांचा अर्थ सांगतो असे नाही, तर केवळ देवालाच हे सामर्थ्थ आहे आणि तो देवच फारोच्या स्वप्नांचा अर्थ सांगेल.”

¹⁷And Pharaoh speaketh unto Joseph: `In my dream, lo, I am standing by the edge of the River,

¹⁷मग फारो योसेफला म्हणाला, “स्वप्नामध्ये मी नाईल नदीच्या काठी उभा होतो.

¹⁸and lo, out of the River coming up are seven kine, fat [in] flesh, and of fair form, and they feed among the reeds;

¹⁸तेव्हा नदीतून सात धष्टपुष्ट व सुंदर गाई बाहेर आल्या व गवत खाऊ लागल्या असे मी पाहिले.

¹⁹and lo, seven other kine are coming up after them, thin, and of very bad form, and lean [in] flesh; I have not seen like these in all the land of Egypt for badness.

¹⁹त्यानंतर सात रोड व कुरुप गाई नदीतून बाहेर येताना मी पाहिल्या. त्यांच्या सारख्या दुबळ्या व कुरुप गाई मी सबंध मिसर देशात कधीच पाहिल्या नव्हत्या.

²⁰`And the lean and the bad kine eat up the first seven fat kine,

²⁰त्या रोड व कुरुप गाईनी आधीच्या धष्टपुष्ट व सुंदर गाई गिळून टाकल्या.

²¹and they come in unto their midst, and it hath not been known that they have come in unto their midst, and their appearance [is] bad as at the commencement; and I awake.

²¹तरीही त्या रोड व कुरुपच राहिल्या, त्यांच्याकडे पाहिल्यावर त्यांनी त्या सात गाई गिळून टाकल्या असे वाटत नव्हते; त्या पूर्वी इतक्याच अशक्त व रोड दिसत होत्या मग मी जागा झालो.

²²`And I see in my dream, and lo, seven ears are coming up on one stalk, full and good;

²²“त्यानंतर दुसऱ्या स्वप्नात एकाच ताटाला सात चांगली भरदार व टपोऱ्या दाण्यांची भरगच्च कणसे आली,

²³and lo, seven ears, withered, thin, blasted with an east wind, are springing up after them;

²³मग त्यांच्या मागून त्या ताटाला आणखी दुसरी करपटलेली, कुरुप व गरम वाऱ्याच्या झळयामुळे करपलेली सात कणसे आली.

²⁴and the thin ears swallow the seven good ears; and I tell unto the scribes, and there is none declaring to me.`

²⁴व त्यांनी ती चांगली सात कणसे गिळून टाकली. “ही माझी स्वप्ने मी माझ्या जादुगारांना, ज्योतिष्यांना व पंडितांना सांगितली; परंतु त्यांचा अर्थ कोणालाही सांगता आला नाही; तेव्हा त्यांचा अर्थ काय आहे?”

²⁵And Joseph saith unto Pharaoh, `The dream of Pharaoh is one: that which God is doing he hath declared to Pharaoh;

²⁵मग योसेफ फारोला म्हणाला, “महाराज, ह्या दोन्हीही स्वप्नांचा अर्थ एकसारखाच आहे; लवकरच काय होणार आहे हे देव आपणास सांगत आहे;

²⁶the seven good kine are seven years, and the seven good ears are seven years, the dream is one;

²⁶त्या सात चांगल्या गाई आणि ती सात चांगली कणसे म्हणजे सात चांगली वर्षे. दोन्हीही स्वप्ने सारखीच आहेत;

²⁷and the seven thin and bad kine which are coming up after them are seven years, and the seven empty ears, blasted with an east wind, are seven years of famine;

²⁷त्या दुसऱ्या सात रोड गाई व ती सात रोड कणसे म्हणजे अवघ्या देशावर येणाऱ्या दुष्काळाची सात वर्षे. ती सात वर्षे चांगल्या सात वर्षानंतर येतील.

²⁸this [is] the thing which I have spoken unto Pharaoh: That which God is doing, he hath shewn Pharaoh.

²⁸लवकरच काय घडणार आहे हे देवाने आपणास दाखवले आहे. मी संगितल्याप्रमाणेच हे घडून येईल.

²⁹`Lo, seven years are coming of great abundance in all the land of Egypt,

²⁹सात वर्षांच्या सुबत्तेच्या काळात चांगले व भरपूर पीक येईल व मिसर देशभर भरपूर खावयास असेल.

³⁰and seven years of famine have arisen after them, and all the plenty is forgotten in the land of Egypt, and the famine hath finished the land,

³⁰परंतु सुकाळाच्या सात वर्षांनंतर सर्व देशभर दुष्काळाची अशी सात वर्षे येतील की त्यामुळे मिसर देशभर पिकलेले धान्य विसरले जाईल; आणि हा दुष्काळ देशाचा नाश करील.

³¹and the plenty is not known in the land because of that famine afterwards, for it [is] very grievous.

³¹आणि भरपूर धान्य असतानाचे दिवस कसे होते याचा लोकांना विसर पडेल.

³²`And because of the repeating of the dream unto Pharaoh twice, surely the thing is established by God, and God is hastening to do it.

³²“तेव्हा फारो महाराज, एकाच गोष्टीविषयी आपणाला दोन स्वप्ने पडली ते यासाठी की देव हे सर्व लवकरच व नक्की घडवून आणील, हे आपणास दाखवावे.

³³`And now, let Pharaoh provide a man, intelligent and wise, and set him over the land of Egypt;

³³तेव्हा, फारो महाराज, आपण एखाद्या चतुर व शहाण्या पुरुषाची निवड करुन त्याला सर्व मिसर देशावर प्रशासक म्हणून नेमावे;

³⁴let Pharaoh make and appoint overseers over the land, and receive a fifth of the land of Egypt in the seven years of plenty,

³⁴त्या नंतर शेतकऱ्याकडून धान्य गोळा करण्यासाठी इतर अधिकारी निवडावेत; येत्या सात वर्षांच्या सुकाळात प्रत्येकाने आपल्या धान्याच्या उत्पन्नाचा पांचवा हिस्सा सरकारला द्यावा.

³⁵and they gather all the food of these good years that are coming, and heap up corn under the hand of Pharaoh — food in the cities; and they have kept [it],

³⁵अशा रीतीने ही माणसे सुकाळाच्या सात वर्षात पुष्कळ अन्न गोळा करतील आणि गरज पडेपर्यंत नगरात साठवून ठेवतील अशा प्रकारे, फारो, हे अन्न तुझ्या नियंत्रणात राहील.

³⁶and the food hath been for a store for the land, for the seven years of famine which are in the land of Egypt; and the land is cut off by the famine.`

³⁶येणाऱ्या दुष्काळातील सात वर्षांच्या काळात त्या धान्याचा उपयोग होईल. तेव्हा मग दुष्काळाच्या सात वर्षात मिसराच नाश होणार नाही.”

³⁷And the thing is good in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of all his servants,

³⁷फारो राजाला ही कल्पना फार चांगली वाटली व पटली; तसेच त्याच्या सर्व सेवकांनी एकमताने तिला संमती दिली.

³⁸and Pharaoh saith unto his servants, `Do we find like this, a man in whom the spirit of God [is]?`

³⁸फारोने म्हटले, “योसेफापेक्षा अधिक चांगला व योग्य, दुसरा कोणी पुरुष सापडेल काय? देवाचा आत्मा त्याच्यात असल्यामुळे त्याला शहाणपण येते!”

³⁹and Pharaoh saith unto Joseph, `After God`s causing thee to know all this, there is none intelligent and wise as thou;

³⁹तेव्हा फारो योसेफास म्हणाला, “देवाने तुला या सर्व गोष्टी दाखवल्या आहेत, म्हणून तुझ्यासारखा चतुर व शहाणा दुसरा कोणी नाही.

⁴⁰thou — thou art over my house, and at thy mouth do all my people kiss; only in the throne I am greater than thou.`

⁴⁰म्हणून मी तुला या देशाचा (मिसरचा) अधिपती म्हणजे सर्वात उच्च अधिकारी म्हणून नेमतो. सर्व लोक तुझ्या सर्व आज्ञा पाळितील; या देशात केवळ राजासना पुरता म्हणजे नामधारी राजा म्हणून काय तो मी एक तुझ्यापेक्षा मोठा असेन.”

⁴¹And Pharaoh saith unto Joseph, `See, I have put thee over all the land of Egypt.`

⁴¹मग फारो योसेफास म्हणाला, “मी तुला आता अवघ्या मिसर देशाचा प्रशासक म्हणून नेमितो.”

⁴²And Pharaoh turneth aside his seal-ring from off his hand, and putteth it on the hand of Joseph, and clotheth him [with] garments of fine linen, and placeth a chain of gold on his neck,

⁴²मग फारोने राजमुद्रा असलेली आपल्या बोटातील अंगठी योसेफाच्या बोटात घातली; तलम तागाच्या वस्त्राचा पोशाख त्याला घातला आणि त्याच्या गाळ्यात एक सोन्याची साखळी घातली.

⁴³and causeth him to ride in the second chariot which he hath, and they proclaim before him, `Bow the knee!` and — to put him over all the land of Egypt.

⁴³नंतर फारोने योसेफाला संचलनातील दुसऱ्या रथात बसण्यास सांगितले; खास नेमलेले गारदी पुढे चालले होते; ते ललकारून जाहीरपणे सांगत होते, “लोक हो! आपल्या देशाच्या प्रशासक योसेफ, याला लवून मुजरा करा.” अशी रीतीने योसेफाला मिसर देशाचा प्रशासक (प्रमुख अधिकारी) नेमले.

⁴⁴And Pharaoh saith unto Joseph, `I [am] Pharaoh, and without thee a man doth not lift up his hand and his foot in all the land of Egypt;`

⁴⁴फारो योसेफाला म्हणाला, “मी मिसराचा राजा आहे खरा, परंतु तुझ्या हुकुमाशिवाय कोणी आपला हात किंवा पाय हलवू शकणार नाहीं.”

⁴⁵and Pharaoh calleth Joseph`s name Zaphnath-Paaneah, and he giveth to him Asenath daughter of Poti-Pherah, priest of On, for a wife, and Joseph goeth out over the land of Egypt.

⁴⁵फारोने योसेफाला सापनाथ-पानेह असे दुसरे नाव दिले. फारोने ओन शहराचा याजक पेटीफरा याची मुलगी आसनथ ही योसेफाला बायको करुन दिली. अशा रीतीने योसेफ सर्व मिसर देशावर प्रशासक झाला.

⁴⁶And Joseph [is] a son of thirty years in his standing before Pharaoh king of Egypt, and Joseph goeth out from the presence of Pharaoh, and passeth over through all the land of Egypt;

⁴⁶योसेफ मिसर देशाचा राजा फारो याची सेवा करु लागला तेव्हा तो अवघा तीस वर्षांचा होता; योसेफाने मिसर देशभर दौरा करुन देशाची पाहणी केली.

⁴⁷and the land maketh in the seven years of plenty by handfuls.

⁴⁷सुकाळाच्या सात वर्षात सर्व देशभर भरपूर पीक आले.

⁴⁸And he gathereth all the food of the seven years which have been in the land of Egypt, and putteth food in the cities; the food of the field which [is] round about [each] city hath he put in its midst;

⁴⁸योसेफाने सुकाळाच्या सात वर्षात अन्न गोळा करुन त्या त्या शेतातले धान्य जवळच्याच नगरोनगरी साठवून ठेवले.

⁴⁹and Joseph gathereth corn as sand of the sea, multiplying exceedingly, until that he hath ceased to number, for there is no number.

⁴⁹योसेफाने जणू काय समुद्राच्या वाळू इतके धान्य गोळा करुन साठवून ठेवले; ते इतके होते की त्याचे मोजमाप करता येत नव्हते.

⁵⁰And to Joseph were born two sons before the year of famine cometh, whom Asenath daughter of Poti-Pherah, priest of On, hath borne to him,

⁵⁰योसेफाची बायको ही ओन नगराचा याजक पोटीफरा याची मुलगी होती. दुष्काळाच्या सात वर्षांपैकी पहिले वर्ष येण्याअगोदर योसेफ व आसनथ यांना दोन मुलगे झाले.

⁵¹and Joseph calleth the name of the first-born Manasseh: `for, God hath made me to forget all my labour, and all the house of my father;`

⁵¹पाहिल्या मुलाचे नाव मनश्शे होते; योसेफाने त्याला हे नांव दिले कारण तो म्हणाला, “देवाने मला झालेला त्रास व माझ्यावर झालेला अन्याय, तसेच माझ्या घराकडील सर्व काही यांचा मला विसर पडू दिला.”

⁵²and the name of the second he hath called Ephraim: `for, God hath caused me to be fruitful in the land of mine affliction.`

⁵²योसेफाने दुसऱ्या मुलाचे नाव एफ्राईम असे ठेवले कारण तो म्हणाला, “माझ्यावर संकटे आली परंतु देवाने मला सर्वबाबतीत सफल केले.”

⁵³And the seven years of plenty are completed which have been in the land of Egypt,

⁵³सात वर्षापर्यंत मिसरमध्ये भरपूर अन्न होते पण ती वर्षे संपली.

⁵⁴and the seven years of famine begin to come, as Joseph said, and famine is in all the lands, but in all the land of Egypt hath been bread;

⁵⁴परंतु सात वर्षानंतर अगदी योसेफाने सांगितल्याप्रमाणे दुष्काळ पडण्यास सुरुवात झाली; तेव्हा कोणत्याच देशात कोठेही कसलेच पीक आले नाही; आणि लोकांना खावयास धान्य मिळेना; परंतु मिसरमध्ये मात्र योसेफाने धान्य साठवल्यामुळे लोकांपाशी खावयास भरपूर अन्न होते.

⁵⁵and all the land of Egypt is famished, and the people crieth unto Pharaoh for bread, and Pharaoh saith to all the Egyptians, `Go unto Joseph; that which he saith to you — do.`

⁵⁵दुष्काळ पडण्यास सुरुवात झाली, तेव्हा लोकांनी धान्यासाठी फारोकडे ओरड केली; तेव्हा फारो मिसरच्या लोकांना म्हणाला, “योसेफाला विचारा व तो सांगले ते करा.”

⁵⁶And the famine has been over all the face of the land, and Joseph openeth all [places] which have [corn] in them, and selleth to the Egyptians; and the famine is severe in the land of Egypt,

⁵⁶तेव्हा चोहीकडे दुष्काळ पडल्यावर योसेफाने मिसरच्या लोकांना धान्य भांडारातून धान्य विकत दिले. मिसरमध्ये फार वाईट प्रकारचा दुष्काळ पडला होत.

⁵⁷and all the earth hath come to Egypt, to buy, unto Joseph, for the famine was severe in all the earth.

⁵⁷मिसरच्या सभोवतालच्या देशातून लोक धान्य विकत घेण्यासाठी योसेफाकडे येऊ लागले कारण त्यावेळी जगाच्या त्या भागात दुष्काळ पडला होता.
