¹Comfort ye, comfort ye, My people, saith your God.

¹तुमचा देव म्हणतो, “माझ्या लोकांचे सांत्वन करा, माझ्या लोकांचे सांत्वन करा.

²Speak to the heart of Jerusalem, and call to her, That her warfare hath been completed, That accepted hath been her punishment, That she hath received from the hand of Jehovah Double for all her sins.

²यरूशलेमशी ममतेने बोला यरूशलेमला सांगा: ‘तुझ्या सेवेचा काळ संपला तुझ्या पापांची किंमत तू मोजली आहेस.”‘ परमेश्वराने यरूशलेमला शिक्षा केली. तिने केलेल्या प्रत्येक पापाकरिता दोनदा शिक्षा केली.

³A voice is crying — in a wilderness — Prepare ye the way of Jehovah, Make straight in a desert a highway to our God.

³ऐका! कोणीतरी ओरडत आहे, “परमेश्वरासाठी वाळवंटातून मार्ग काढा. आमच्या देवासाठी वाळवंटात सपाट रस्ता तयार करा.

⁴Every valley is raised up, And every mountain and hill become low, And the crooked place hath become a plain, And the entangled places a valley.

⁴प्रत्येक दरी भरून काढा. प्रत्येक डोंगर आणि टेकडी सपाट करा. वेडेवाकडे रस्ते सरळ करा. खडकाळ जमीन गुळगुळीत करा.

⁵And revealed hath been the honour of Jehovah, And seen [it] have all flesh together, For the mouth of Jehovah hath spoken.

⁵मग देवाची प्रभा फाकेल आणि सर्व लोक एकत्रितपणे परमेश्वराचे तेज पाहतील. हो! स्वत: परमेश्वराने हे सर्व सांगितले आहे.”

⁶A voice is saying, `Call,` And he said, `What do I call?` All flesh [is] grass, and all its goodliness [is] As a flower of the field:

⁶एक आवाज आला, “बोल!” मग माणूस म्हणाला, “मी काय बोलू?” आवाज म्हणाला, हे बोल: “सर्व माणसे गवतासारखी आहेत. माणसाचा चांगुलपणा कोवळ्या गवताच्या पात्यासारखा आहे.

⁷Withered hath grass, faded the flower, For the Spirit of Jehovah blew upon it, Surely the people [is] grass;

⁷परमेश्वराकडून येणाऱ्या जोरदार वाऱ्याने हे गवत सुकते व मरते, सर्व माणसे गवतासारखी आहेत हेच सत्य आहे.”

⁸Withered hath grass, faded the flower, But a word of our God riseth for ever.

⁸“गवत सुकते आणि फुले कोमेजतात पण आमच्या देवाची वाणी सदासर्वकाळ राहते.”

⁹On a high mountain get thee up, O Zion, Proclaiming tidings, Lift up with power thy voice, O Jerusalem, proclaiming tidings, Lift up, fear not, say to cities of Judah, `Lo, your God.`

⁹सियोन, तुझ्याकडे सांगण्यासाठी एक सुर्वाता आहे. उंच डोंगरावर चढून जा आणि ही सुवार्ता ओरडून सांग. यरूशलेम, तुझ्यासाठी चांगली वार्ता आहे. घाबरू नकोस. मोठ्याने बोल. यहुदातील सर्व शहरांना ही वार्ता सांग, “हा पाहा तुमचा देव!

¹⁰Lo, the Lord Jehovah with strength cometh, And His arm is ruling for Him, Lo, His hire [is] with Him, and His wage before Him.

¹⁰परमेश्वर, माझा प्रभू सर्व सामर्थ्यानिशी येत आहे लोकांवर अधिकार चालविण्यासाठी तो त्याचे सामर्थ्य वापरील तो आपल्या लोकांसाठी बक्षिस आणील. तो त्यांचा मोबदला चुकता करील.

¹¹As a shepherd His flock He feedeth, With His arm He gathereth lambs, And in His bosom He carrieth [them]: Suckling ones He leadeth.

¹¹ज्याप्रमाणे मेंढपाळ मेंढ्या वळवतो त्याप्रमाणे परमेश्वर आपल्या लोकांना वळवेल. परमेश्वर आपल्या हाताने (सामर्थ्याने) त्यांना एकत्र गोळा करील. तो लहान मेढ्यांना हातांत उचलून घेईल व त्या लहानग्यांच्या आया परमेश्वराच्या बाजूबाजूने चालतील.

¹²Who hath measured in the hollow of his hand the waters? And the heavens by a span hath meted out, And comprehended in a measure the dust of the earth, And hath weighed in scales the mountains, And the hills in a balance?

¹²आपल्या ओंजळीने समुद्राचे पाणी कोणी मोजले? आकाशाचे मोजमाप करण्यासाठी कोणी आपला हात वापरला? पृथ्वीवरची धूळ वाडग्याने कोणी मापली? डोंगर आणि टेकड्या तराजूने कोणी तोलल्या? हे सर्व करणारा परमेश्वर होता.

¹³Who hath meted out the Spirit of Jehovah, And, [being] His counsellor, doth teach Him!

¹³काय करावे हे कोणीही माणसाने परमेश्वराला सांगितले नाही. त्याने ज्या गोष्टी केल्या, त्या कशा कराव्या हे ही परमेश्वराला कोणी माणसाने सांगितले नाही.

¹⁴With whom consulted He, That he causeth Him to understand? And teacheth Him in the path of judgment, And teacheth Him knowledge? And the way of understanding causeth Him to know?

¹⁴परमेश्वराने कोणा माणसाची मदत मागितली का? कोणा माणसाने परमेश्वराला प्रामाणिकपणा शिकविला का? परमेश्वराला कोणा माणसाने ज्ञान दिले का? कोणी परमेश्वराला शहाणपण शिकविले का? नाही. या गोष्टी परमेश्वराला अगोदरच माहीत होत्या.

¹⁵Lo, nations as a drop from a bucket, And as small dust of the balance, have been reckoned, Lo, isles as a small thing He taketh up.

¹⁵हे बघा! राष्ट्र हा परमेश्वराच्या सृष्टीचा फार सूक्ष्म अंश आहे. राष्ट्र हे बादलीतल्या पाण्याच्या एका थेंबाप्रमाणे आहे. जर परमेश्वराने सर्व राष्ट्रे गोळा करून त्याच्या तराजूच्या पारडयात टाकली तर ती धुळीच्या लहान लहान कणांप्रमाणे दिसतील.

¹⁶And Lebanon is not sufficient to burn, Nor its beasts sufficient for a burnt-offering.

¹⁶परमेश्वरापुढे होम करायला लबानोनमधील सर्व झाडेही पुरणार नाहीत. आणि त्याच्यापुढे बळी देण्यासाठी तेथील सर्व प्राणी मारले तरी अपुरेच पडतील.

¹⁷All the nations [are] as nothing before Him, Less than nothing and emptiness, They have been reckoned to Him.

¹⁷तुलनेने देवापुढे जगातील सर्व राष्ट्रे म्हणजे काहीच नाहीत. देवाच्या तुलनेत जगातील सर्व राष्ट्रांची किंमत शून्य आहे.

¹⁸And unto whom do ye liken God, And what likeness do ye compare to Him?

¹⁸देवाची तुलना तुम्ही कशाशी करू शकता का? नाही. तुम्ही देवाचे चित्र काढू शकता का? नाही.

¹⁹The graven image poured out hath a artizan, And a refiner with gold spreadeth it over, And chains of silver he is refining.

¹⁹पण काहीजण लाकूड आणि दगड यांपासून मूर्ती तयार करतात आणि त्यांनाच देव मानतात. एक कारागीर मूर्ती तयार करतो. दुसरा तिला सोन्याने मढवतो आणि तिच्यासाठी चांदीच्या साखळ्या करतो.

²⁰He who is poor [by] heave-offerings, A tree not rotten doth choose, A skilful artizan he seeketh for it, To establish a graven image — not moved.

²⁰पायासाठी तो न कुजणारे विशेष प्रकारचे लाकूड निवडतो. नंतर तो चांगला सुतार शोधतो आणि “देवाच्या” मूर्तीसाठी भक्कम पाया तयार करतो.

²¹Do ye not know — do ye not hear? Hath it not been declared from the first to you? Have ye not understood [From] the foundations of the earth?

²¹तुम्हाला सत्य नक्कीच माहीत आहे. नाही का? तुम्ही नक्कीच त्याबद्दल ऐकले आहे. फार पूर्वी नक्कीच कोणीतरी तुम्हाला ते सांगितले आहे. ही पृथ्वी कोणी निर्मिली हे तुम्ही जाणता.

²²He who is sitting on the circle of the earth, And its inhabitants [are] as grasshoppers, He who is stretching out as a thin thing the heavens, And spreadeth them as a tent to dwell in.

²²परमेश्वरच खरा देव आहे तो पृथ्वीगोलावर स्थानापन्न होतो. त्याच्या तुलनेत लोक म्हणजे नाकतोडे आहेत. त्याने कापडाच्या गुंडाळीप्रमाणे आकाश उलगडून उघडले. आकाशाखाली बसण्यासाठी त्याने ते तंबूच्या कनातीप्रमाणे ताणले.

²³He who is making princes become nothing, Judges of earth as emptiness hath made;

²³तो अधिपतींना निरूपयोगी करतो आणि जगातील न्यायाधीशांना पूर्णपणे कवडीमोल ठरवितो.

²⁴Yea, they have not been planted, Yea, they have not been sown, Yea, not taking root in the earth is their stock, And also He hath blown upon them, and they wither, And a whirlwind as stubble taketh them away.

²⁴ते राजे (अधिपती) रोपट्यांप्रमाणे आहेत. जमिनीत लावल्यावर ती रूजायच्या आधीच देवाच्या जोरदार वाऱ्याने ती “रोपटी” सुकतात आणि मरतात व वारा त्यांना गवताच्या काडीप्रमाणे दूर उडवून देतो.

²⁵And unto whom do ye liken Me, And [am] I equal? saith the Holy One.

²⁵पवित्र देव म्हणतो, “तुम्ही माझी तुलना कोणाशी करू शकता का? नाही. कोणीही माझ्या बरोबरीचे नाही.

²⁶Lift up on high your eyes, And see — who hath prepared these? He who is bringing out by number their host, To all of them by name He calleth, By abundance of strength (And [he is] strong in power) not one is lacking.

²⁶आकाशाकडे पाहा. हे तारे कोणी निर्मिले? ही आकाशातील ‘सेना’ कोणाची निर्मिती आहे. प्रत्येक ताऱ्याला त्याच्या नावाने कोण ओळखतो? खरा देव फार बलवान व सामर्थ्यवान आहे. म्हणून त्यातील एकही तारा हरवत नाही.”

²⁷Why sayest thou, O Jacob? and speakest thou, O Israel? `My way hath been hid from Jehovah, And from my God my judgment passeth over.`

²⁷याकोब, हे खरे आहे इस्राएल, तू ह्यावर विश्वास ठेवावा. मग तुम्ही “मी कसा जगतो हे परमेश्वराला दिसू शकत नाही. देव मला शोधून शिक्षा करणार नाही.” असे का म्हणता?

²⁸Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard? The God of the age — Jehovah, Preparer of the ends of the earth, Is not wearied nor fatigued, There is no searching of His understanding.

²⁸परमेश्वर देव फार सुज्ञ आहे, हे तुम्ही नक्कीच ऐकले आहे व तुम्हाला ते माहीतही आहे. देवाला ज्ञान असलेली प्रत्येक गोष्ट माणूस शिकू शकत नाही. परमेश्वर कधी दमत नाही, आणि त्याला विश्रांतीची गरज नाही. जगातील दूरदूरची स्थळे परमेश्वरानेच निर्मिली. परमेश्वर चिरंजीव आहे.

²⁹He is giving power to the weary, And to those not strong He increaseth might.

²⁹परमेश्वर दुबळ्यांना सबळ व्हायला मदत करतो. तो लोकांना शक्तीशिवाय सामर्थ्यवान होण्यास कारणीभूत होतो.

³⁰Even youths are wearied and fatigued, And young men utterly stumble,

³⁰तरूण माणसे थकतात आणि त्यांना विश्रांतीची गरज वाटते. लहान मुलेसुध्दा अडखळतात आणि पडतात.

³¹But those expecting Jehovah pass [to] power, They raise up the pinion as eagles, They run and are not fatigued, They go on and do not faint!

³¹पण परमेश्वरावर विश्वास ठेवणारे, ज्याप्रमाणे गरूड पंख पसरून वर उडतात, त्याप्रमाणे पुन्हा सामर्थ्यशाली होतात. ही माणसे न दमता धावतात व न थकता चालतात.
