1Lo, all — hath mine eye seen, Heard hath mine ear, and it attendeth to it.
1ईयोब म्हणाला: “हे सर्व मी पूर्वी पाहिले आहे, तू जे म्हणालास ते सर्व मी आधीच ऐकले आहे. त्या सर्व गोष्टी मला समजतात.
2According to your knowledge I have known — also I. I am not fallen more than you.
2तुला जेवढे माहीत आहे तेवढेच मलाही माहीत आहे. मी तुझ्या इतकाच हुशार आहे.
3Yet I for the Mighty One do speak, And to argue for God I delight.
3परंतु मला तुझ्याशी वाद घालायचा नाही. मला सर्वशक्तीमान देवाशी बोलायचे आहे. मला देवाबरोबर माझ्या संकटांविषयी बोलायचे आहे.
4And yet, ye [are] forgers of falsehood, Physicians of nought — all of you,
4तुम्ही तिघेजण खोटे बोलून तुमचे अज्ञान लपवीत आहात. ज्या वैद्याला कुणालाही बरे करता येत नाही अशा निरुपयोगी वैद्यासारखे तुम्ही आहात.
5O that ye would keep perfectly silent, And it would be to you for wisdom.
5तुम्ही गप्प बसावे अशी माझी इच्छा आहे. ती तुम्हाला करता येण्याजोगी सर्वात शहाणपणाची गोष्ट असेल.
6Hear, I pray you, my argument, And to the pleadings of my lips attend,
6“आता माझ्या युक्तिवादाकडे लक्ष द्या मी काय म्हणतो ते ऐका.
7For God do ye speak perverseness? And for Him do ye speak deceit?
7तुम्ही देवासाठी खोटे बोलाल का? तुमचे खोटे बोलणे देवाच्या इच्छेनुसार आहे असे तुम्हाला वाटते का?
8His face do ye accept, if for God ye strive?
8तुम्ही माझ्याविरुध्द देवाचा बचाव करीत आहात का? तुम्ही मुळीच न्यायाने वागत नाहीत तो देव आहे म्हणून तुम्ही त्याची बाजू घेत आहात.
9Is [it] good that He doth search you, If, as one mocketh at a man, ye mock at Him?
9जर देवाने अगदी जवळून तुमची तपासणी केली तर, त्याला काही तरी चांगले आढळेल का? तुम्ही लोकांना जसे मूर्ख बनवू शकता तसेच देवालाही बनवू शकाल असे तुम्हाला वाटते का?
10He doth surely reprove you, if in secret ye accept faces.
10तुम्ही जर एखादा माणूस महत्वाचा आहे म्हणून न्यायालयात त्याची बाजू घेतलीत तर देव तुमच्यावर टीका करेल हे तुम्हाला माहीत आहे.
11Doth not His excellency terrify you? And His dread fall upon you?
11देवाचे मोठेपण तुम्हाला घाबरवते. तुम्ही त्याला भीता.
12Your remembrances [are] similes of ashes, For high places of clay your heights.
12तुमचे युक्तिवाद कुचकामाचे आहेत. तुमची उत्तरे कवडीमोलाची आहेत.
13Keep silent from me, and I speak, And pass over me doth what?
13“आता जरा गप्प बसा आणि मला बोलू द्या! माझे जे काही होईल ते मला मान्य आहे.
14Wherefore do I take my flesh in my teeth? And my soul put in my hand?
14मी मलाच संकटात लोटीन आणि माझ्याच हातात माझेच जीवन धरीन?
15Lo, He doth slay me — I wait not! Only, my ways unto His face I argue.
15देवाने मला मारुन टाकले तरी मी देवावरच विश्वास ठेवीन. पण मी त्याच्या समोर माझा बचाव करीन.
16Also — He [is] to me for salvation, For the profane cometh not before Him.
16आणि देवाने जर मला जिवंत राहू दिले तर ते मी बोलण्याइतका धीट होतो म्हणूनच असेल. पापी माणूस देवाच्या डोळ्याला डोळा भिडवू शकणार नाही.
17Hear ye diligently my word, And my declaration with your ears.
17मी काय म्हणतो ते लक्षपूर्वक ऐका. मला नीट सांगू द्या.
18Lo, I pray you, I have set in order the cause, I have known that I am righteous.
18मी आता माझ्या बचावाला सिध्द झालो आहे. मी माझे मुद्दे काळजीपूर्वक मांडीन. मला माहीत आहे की मी बरोबर आहे हे मी दाखवून देईन.
19Who [is] he that doth strive with me? For now I keep silent and gasp.
19माझे चुकले आहे असे जर कुणी दाखवून दिले तर मी गप्प बसेन.
20Only two things, O God, do with me: Then from Thy face I am not hidden.
20“देवा, तू मला फक्त दोन गोष्टी दे, मग मी तुझ्यापासून लपणार नाही.
21Thy hand put far off from me, And Thy terror let not terrify me.
21मला शिक्षा देणे बंद कर आणि तुझ्या भयानक गोष्टींनी मला भयभीत करण्याचे थांबव.
22And call Thou, and I — I answer, Or — I speak, and answer Thou me.
22नंतर मला हाक मार. मी तुला ओ देईन किंवा मला बोलू दे आणि तू मला उत्तर दे.
23How many iniquities and sins have I? My transgression and my sin let me know.
23मी किती पापे केली आहेत? मी काय चुका केल्या आहेत? तू मला माझी पापे आणि माझ्या चुका दाखव.
24Why dost Thou hide Thy face? And reckonest me for an enemy to Thee?
24देवा, तू मला का चुकवीत आहेस? आणि मला शत्रूसारखे का वागवीत आहेस?
25A leaf driven away dost Thou terrify? And the dry stubble dost Thou pursue?
252तू मला घाबरवतो आाहेस का? मी वाऱ्यावर उडणारे एक पान मात्र आहे. तू गवताच्या एका काडीवर आक्रमण करीत आहेस.
26For Thou writest against me bitter things, And causest me to possess iniquities of my youth:
26देवा, तू माझ्याबद्दल फार कटू बोलतोस. मी तरुणपणात जी पापे केली त्याबद्दल तू मला कष्ट भोगायला लावतो आहेस का?
27And puttest in the stocks my feet, And observest all my paths, On the roots of my feet Thou settest a print,
27तू माझ्या पायात बेड्या घातल्या आहेस. माझ्या प्रत्येक पावलावर तू पाळत ठेवतोस, माझी प्रत्येक हालचाल तू टिपतोस.
28And he, as a rotten thing, weareth away, As a garment hath a moth consumed him.
28म्हणून मी कुजलेल्या लाकडासारखा, कसरीने खाल्लेल्या कापडासारखा क्षीण होत चाललो आहे”
