1And the people is evil, as those sighing habitually in the ears of Jehovah, and Jehovah heareth, and His anger burneth, and the fire of Jehovah burneth among them, and consumeth in the extremity of the camp.
1मग इस्राएल लोक आपल्या त्रासाबद्दल परत तक्रार करु लागले. ती परमेश्वराने ऐकली व ती ऐकल्यावर त्याचा राग भडकला. परमेश्वरापासूनचा अग्नि त्यांच्यात पेटला आणि त्याने छावणीच्या कडेचा काही भाग जाळून टाकिला.
2And the people cry unto Moses, and Moses prayeth unto Jehovah, and the fire is quenched;
2तेव्हा लोकांनी मोशेकडे मदतीसाठी आरडाओरड केली. मोशेने परमेश्वराला विनंती केली तेव्हा अग्नि शमला.
3and he calleth the name of that place Taberah, for the fire of Jehovah hath `burned` among them.
3त्यामुळे त्या ठिकाणाचे नांव तबेरा असे पडले. लोकांनी त्या ठिकाणाला तसे नांव दिले कारण परमेश्वराच्या अग्निमुळे छावणीचा भाग जळून गेला.
4And the rabble who [are] in its midst have lusted greatly, and the sons of Israel also turn back and weep, and say, `Who doth give us flesh?
4जे विदेशी इस्राएल लोकाबरोबर राहात होते, त्यांना इतर काही पदार्थ खावेसे वाटू लागले. लवकरच इस्राएल लोकांनी पुन्हा कुरकुर करण्यास सुरवात केली. लोक म्हणाले, “आम्हांला मांस खावयास पाहिजे.
5We have remembered the fish which we do eat in Egypt for nought, the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlick;
5मिसरमध्ये असताना खाल्लेल्या माश्यांची आम्हाला आठवण येते; तेथे ते आम्हाला फुकट खावयास मिळत. त्याचप्रमाणे तेथे आम्हाला काकड्या, खरबूजे, भाजी, कांदे, लसूण असा चांगला भाजीपाला मिळत आसे.
6and now our soul [is] dry, there is not anything, save the manna, before our eyes.`
6परंतु आता आम्ही कमजोर झालो आहोत. मान्न्याशिवाय आम्हाला येथे काही ही खावयास मिळत नाही!”
7And the manna is as coriander seed, and its aspect as the aspect of bdolach;
7(हा मान्ना लहान धण्यासारखा होता, आणि तो झाडाच्या डिंकासारखा दिसे.
8the people have turned aside and gathered [it], and ground [it] with millstones, or beat [it] in a mortar, and boiled [it] in a pan, and made it cakes, and its taste hath been as the taste of the moisture of oil.
8लोक तो गोळा करीत, तो उखळात कुटीत, किंवा भांड्यात शिजवीत किंवा दळीत व त्याच्या भाकरी करी. उत्तम तेलात भाजलेल्या गोड पुऱ्या सारखी त्याची चव लागे.
9And in the descending of the dew on the camp by night, the manna descendeth upon it.
9रात्री दव पडल्यामुळे जमीन ओली झाल्यावर मान्ना जमिनीवर पडत असे.)
10And Moses heareth the people weeping by its families, each at the opening of his tent, and the anger of Jehovah burneth exceedingly, and in the eyes of Moses [it is] evil.
10मोशेने लोकांची कुरकुर ऐकली. प्रत्येक कुटुंबातील लोक आपापल्या तंबूसमोर बसून कुरकुर करीत होते. त्यामुळे परमेश्वराचा राग भयंकर भडकला आणि त्यामुळे मोळे खिन्न झाला.
11And Moses saith unto Jehovah, `Why hast Thou done evil to Thy servant? and why have I not found grace in Thine eyes — to put the burden of all this people upon me?
11मोशेने परमेश्वराला विचारले, “परमेश्वरा, तू माझ्यावर हे संकट का आणिले? मी तुझा दास आहे. माझे काय चुकले? तुला एवढे रागावण्यासारखे मी काय केले? ह्या सर्व लोकांची जबाबदारी तू माझ्यावर का टाकलीस?
12I — have I conceived all this people? I — have I begotten it, that Thou sayest unto me, Carry it in thy bosom as the nursing father beareth the suckling, unto the ground which Thou hast sworn to its fathers?
12तुला माहीत आहे की मी काही ह्या सर्व लोकांचा बाप नाही, की मी ह्यांना जन्म दिला नाही. परंतु परिचारिका-जशी लहान बाळाला छातीशी धरते तशी मी त्यांची काळजी घेतली पाहिजे अशी सक्ति तू माझ्यावर का करतोस? तू आमच्या वाडबडिलांना वचन दिलेल्या देशात त्यांना घेऊन जाण्याची सक्ति माझ्यावर का करतोस?
13Whence have I flesh to give to all this people? for they weep unto me, saying, Give to us flesh, and we eat.
13एवढ्या लोकांना पुरेल एवढे मांस माझ्याजवळ नाही! आणि त्यांची तर माझ्यामागे कुरकुर चालूच आहे. ते म्हणतात, ‘आम्हाला खावयास मांस दे!
14I am not able — I alone — to bear all this people, for [it is] too heavy for me;
14मी एकटा ह्या सर्वांची काळजी घेऊ शकत नाही. हे ओझे माझ्यासाठी फारच जड आहे.
15and if thus Thou art doing to me — slay me, I pray Thee; slay, if I have found grace in thine eyes, and let me not look on mine affliction.`
15त्यांचा त्रास मी सहन करण्याचे काम चालू ठेवावे असा जर तुझा विचार असेल तर मग तू आजच मला मारुन टाक. तू मला दास समजत असशील तर मग आता मला मरु दे. मग माझ्या मागचा सर्व त्रास संपून जाईल!
16And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Gather to Me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom thou hast known that they are elders of the people, and its authorities; and thou hast taken them unto the tent of meeting, and they have stationed themselves there with thee,
16तेव्हा परमेश्वर मोशेला म्हणाला, “इस्राएल मंडळीतील सत्तर वडील मजकडे आण. मंडळीचे नेते असलेल्या ह्या लोकांना दर्शनमंडपाच्या दारापाशी आण; व तुझ्याबरोबर त्यांना उभे कर.
17and I have come down and spoken with thee there, and have kept back of the Spirit which [is] upon thee, and have put on them, and they have borne with thee some of the burden of the people, and thou dost not bear [it] thyself alone.
17मग मी खाली येऊन तेथे तुझ्याशी बोलेन. मग तुझ्यावर असलेल्या आत्म्यातून काही भाग मी त्यांनाही देईन. मग लोकांची काळजी घेण्यास ते तुला मदत करतील. ह्या प्रकारे इस्राएल लोकांची जबाबदारी केवळ तुझ्या एकट्यावर राहणार नाही.
18`And unto the people thou dost say, Sanctify yourselves for to-morrow, and ye have eaten flesh (for ye have wept in the ears of Jehovah, saying, Who doth give us flesh? for we [had] good in Egypt) — and Jehovah hath given to you flesh, and ye have eaten.
18तू ह्या गोष्टी लोकांना सांग: उद्या तुम्ही स्वत: शुद्ध राहा म्हणजे तुम्हाला मांस खावयास मिळेल. परमेश्वराने तुमचे रडगाणे ऐकले आहे. ‘आम्हाला मांस खाण्यास पाहिजे! आम्ही मिसरमध्ये होतो ते बरे होते,’ असे तुम्ही म्हणाला ते शब्दही परमेश्वराने ऐकले आहेत. तेव्हा आता परमेश्वर तुम्हाला मांस देईल आणि तुम्ही ते खाल.
19Ye do not eat one day, nor two days, nor five days, nor ten days, nor twenty days; —
19तुम्ही ते एक, किंवा दोन, किंवा पाच, किंवा दहा दिवसच नव्हे तर वीस दिवस देखील खाल.
20unto a month of days, till that it come out from your nostrils, and it hath become to you an abomination; because that ye have loathed Jehovah, who [is] in your midst, and weep before Him, saying, Why is this? — we have come out of Egypt!`
20येवढेच नव्हे तर तुम्ही ते पूर्ण महिनाभर खाल. तुम्हाला त्याचा तिटकारा येईपर्यंत ते खाल. हे असे होईल कारण तुम्ही आपल्या परमेश्वराविरुद्ध कुरकुर केली. परमेश्वर तुम्हामध्ये राहतो आणि तुम्हाला काय पाहिजे ते त्याला माहीत आहे; परंतु तुम्ही त्याच्या विरुद्ध ओरड केली आणि म्हणाला, ‘आम्ही का बरे मिसर सोडले?”‘
21And Moses saith, `Six hundred thousand footmen [are] the people in whose midst I [am]; and Thou, Thou hast said, Flesh I give to them, and they have eaten, a month of days!
21मोशे म्हणाला, “परमेश्वरा येथे सहा लाख लोक आहेत आणि तू म्हणतोस की ‘ह्याना पूर्ण महिनाभर पुरेल एवढे मांस मी खावयास देईन!’
22Is flock and herd slaughtered for them, that one hath found for them? — are all the fishes of the sea gathered for them — that one hath found for them?`
22आम्ही जरी सर्व शेरडेमेंढरे व गुरेढोर कापली तरी ह्या सर्व लोकांना महिनाभर खाण्यास तेवढेही पुरे पडणार नाहीत.”
23And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Is the hand of Jehovah become short? now thou dost see whether My word meeteth thee or not.`
23परंतु परमेश्वर मोशेला म्हणाला, “परमेश्वराचा हात असमर्थ तोकडा पडला आहे काय? मी माझे म्हणणे खरे करुन दाखवीन हे तुला दिसेल.”
24And Moses goeth out, and speaketh unto the people the words of Jehovah, and gathereth seventy men of the elders of the people, and causeth them to stand round about the tent,
24तेव्हा मोशे लोकांशी बोलण्याकरिता बाहेर गेला. परमेश्वर जे बोलला ते त्याने त्यांना सांगितले. मग मोशेने मंडळीच्या सत्तर वडिलांना (नेत्यांना) एकत्र जमविले; त्याने त्यांना तंबू भोंवती उभे राहण्यास सांगितले.
25and Jehovah cometh down in the cloud, and speaketh unto him, and keepeth back of the Spirit which [is] on him, and putteth on the seventy men of the elders; and it cometh to pass at the resting of the Spirit on them, that they prophesy, and do not cease.
25मग परमेश्वर ढगातून खाली आला आणि मोशेशी बोलला. मोशेवर परमेश्वराचा आत्मा होता. त्यातून काही घेऊन परमेश्वराने ते त्या सत्तर वडिलावर (नेत्यावर) ठेवला. तो आत्मा आल्यावर ते संदेश सांगू लागले. परंतू त्यानंतर मात्र त्यांनी पुन्हा संदेश सांगीतला नाही.
26And two of the men are left in the camp, the name of the one [is] Eldad, and the name of the second Medad, and the spirit resteth upon them, (and they are among those written, and have not gone out to the tent), and they prophesy in the camp;
26त्यातील दोन वडील (नेते) एलदाद व मेदाद छावणीच्या बाहेर गेले नाहीत. त्यांची नांवे वडीलांच्या (नेत्यांच्या) यादीत होती. परंतु ते छावणीतच राहिले; त्यामुळे आत्मा त्यांच्यावरही आला आणि ते छावणीतच संदेश सांगू लागले.
27and the young man runneth, and declareth to Moses, and saith, `Eldad and Medad are prophesying in the camp.`
27तेव्हा एका तरुणाने पळत जाऊन मोशेला हे सांगितले. तो म्हणाला, “एलदाद व मेदाद हे छावणीत संदेश सांगत आहेत.”
28And Joshua son of Nun, minister of Moses, [one] of his young men, answereth and saith, `My lord Moses, restrain them.`
28तेव्हा नूनाचा मुलगा यहोशवा मोशेला म्हणाला, “मोशे, माझे स्वामी तुम्ही त्यांना बंदी घाला.” (यहोशवा तरुण असल्यापासून मोशेचा मदतनीस होता.)
29And Moses saith to him, `Art thou zealous for me? O that all Jehovah`s people were prophets! that Jehovah would put His Spirit upon them!`
29मोशेने त्याला उत्तर दिले, “ह्याच्या योगाने माझ्या नेतेपणाला कमीपणा येईल असे तुला वाटते काय? परमेश्वराचे सर्वच लोक संदेष्टे असते आणि परमेश्वराने त्या सर्वांवर आपला आत्मा ठेविला असता तर किती बरें होते.”
30And Moses is gathered unto the camp, he and the elders of Israel.
30मग मोशे व इस्राएलांचे नेते छावणीमध्ये परत गेले.
31And a spirit hath journeyed from Jehovah, and cutteth off quails from the sea, and leaveth by the camp, as a day`s journey here, and as a day`s journey there, round about the camp, and about two cubits, on the face of the land.
31मग परमेश्वराने समुद्रावरुन जोरदार वारा वाहावयास लाविला. त्या वाऱ्याने लावे पक्षी त्या भागात वाहून आणिले. ते लावे पक्षी सर्व छावणीच्या भोंवती उडत राहिले. ते इतके होते की छावणीचे अंगण व सारा परिसर त्यांनी भरुन गेला. त्यांचा जमिनीपासून तीन फूट वरपर्यंत थर साचला. माणूस एक दिवसभरात जितका दूर चालत जाईल तेथ पर्यंत तो थर होता.
32And the people rise all that day, and all the night, and all the day after, and gather the quails — he who hath least hath gathered ten homers — and they spread them out for themselves round about the camp.
32लोक बाहेर पडले व त्यांनी दिवसभर व रात्रभर लावे पक्षी गोळा केले आणि त्यांनी पूर्ण दुसरा दिवसभरही ते गोळा केले. कोणत्याही माणसाने गोळा केलेले पक्षी कमीत कमी साठ बुशेल भरले. मग लोकांनी लावे पक्षांचे मांस सर्व छावणी सभोंवती पसरवले.
33The flesh is yet between their teeth — it is not yet cut off — and the anger of Jehovah hath burned among the people, and Jehovah smiteth among the people — a very great smiting;
33लोकांनी मांस खाण्यास सुरवात केली परंतु परमेश्वराचा राग भयंकर भडकला. ते मांस त्यांच्या तोंडात होते तोच म्हणजे ते पूर्ण खाऊन होण्यापूर्वी परमेश्वराने त्यांना भयंकर आजारी पाडले व मारुन टाकिले.
34and [one] calleth the name of that place Kibroth-Hattaavah, for there they have buried the people who lust.
34म्हणून लोकांनी त्या ठिकाणाला किब्रोथ-हत्तव्वा असे नांव दिले. कारण ह्याच ठिकाणी, ज्या लोकांना मांस खाण्याची अतिशय कडक इच्छा झाली होती त्यांना पुरण्यात आले.
35From Kibroth-Hattaavah have the people journeyed to Hazeroth, and they are in Hazeroth.
35किब्रोथ हत्तव्वापासून लोकांनी हसेरोथपर्यंत प्रवास केला व तेथे त्यांनी मुक्काम केला.
