¹To the Overseer. — A Psalm of David. The heavens [are] recounting the honour of God, And the work of His hands The expanse [is] declaring.

¹स्वर्ग देवाचा महिमा गातात. आणि आकाश देवाने आपल्या हाताने ज्या चांगल्या गोष्टी केल्या आहेत त्या दाखवते.

²Day to day uttereth speech, And night to night sheweth knowledge.

²प्रत्येक नवा दिवस त्या गोष्टींबद्दल अधिक काही सांगतो आणि प्रत्येक रात्र देवाच्या सामर्थ्याची अधिकाधिक रुपे दाखवते.

³There is no speech, and there are no words. Their voice hath not been heard.

³तुम्हांला एखादे भाषण किंवा शब्द खरोखरच ऐकू येत नाही. तुम्हांला ऐकू येण्यासारखा एखादा आवाज ते करीत नाहीत.

⁴Into all the earth hath their line gone forth, And to the end of the world their sayings, For the sun He placed a tent in them,

⁴परंतु त्यांचा “आवाज” सर्व जगभर जातो त्यांचे “शब्द” पृथ्वीच्या टोकापर्यंत जातात. आकाश म्हणजे जणू सूर्याचे घरच आहे.

⁵And he, as a bridegroom, goeth out from his covering, He rejoiceth as a mighty one To run the path.

⁵सूर्य त्याच्या झोपायच्या खोलीतून आनंदी नवऱ्या मुलासारखा बाहेर येतो. सूर्य त्याच्या परिक्रमेची सुरुवात अधीर झालेल्या एखाद्या धावपटू सारखी करतो.

⁶From the end of the heavens [is] his going out, And his revolution [is] unto their ends, And nothing is hid from his heat.

⁶सूर्य आकाशाच्या एका कोपऱ्यापासून सुरुवात करतो आणि तो आकाशाच्या दुसऱ्या टोकापर्यंत जातो. त्याच्या उष्णतेपासून काहीही लपून राहू शकत नाही. परमेश्वराची शिकवणही तशीच आहे.

⁷The law of Jehovah [is] perfect, refreshing the soul, The testimonies of Jehovah [are] stedfast, Making wise the simple,

⁷परमेश्वराची शिकवण अतिशय योग्य आहे. ती देवाच्या लोकांना शक्ती देते. परमेश्वराच्या करारावर विश्वास ठेवणे शक्य आहे. त्यामुळे मूर्ख लोकांना शहाणे बनण्यास मदत होते.

⁸The precepts of Jehovah [are] upright, Rejoicing the heart, The command of Jehovah [is] pure, enlightening the eyes,

⁸परमेश्वराचे नियम योग्य आहेत ते लोकांना सुखी करतात परमेश्राच्या आज्ञा चांगल्या आहेत त्या लोकांना जीवन जगण्याचा योग्य मार्ग दाखवतात.

⁹The fear of Jehovah [is] clean, standing to the age, The judgments of Jehovah [are] true, They have been righteous — together.

⁹परमेश्वराची भीती शुध्द आहे. ती अखंड सहन करावी लागेल. परमेश्वराचे निर्णय चांगले आणि योग्य आहेत. ते संपूर्णत बरोबर आहेत.

¹⁰They are more desirable than gold, Yea, than much fine gold; and sweeter than honey, Even liquid honey of the comb.

¹⁰परमेश्वराची शिकवण अतिशय शुध्द अशा सोन्यापेक्षा ही किंमती आहे. ती मधाच्या पोळ्यातून मिळणाऱ्या, शुध्द मधापेक्षाही गोड आहे.

¹¹Also — Thy servant is warned by them, `In keeping them [is] a great reward.`

¹¹परमेश्वराच्या शिकवणी नेत्याच्या सेवकाला इशारा दिला. चांगल्या गोष्टींचे पालन केल्यामुळे चांगले फळ मिळते.

¹²Errors! who doth understand? From hidden ones declare me innocent,

¹²कोणालाही आपल्या सगळ्या चुका दिसू शकत नाहीत. म्हणून मला गुप्त पाप करु देऊ नकोस.

¹³Also — from presumptuous ones keep back Thy servant, Let them not rule over me, Then am I perfect, And declared innocent of much transgression,

¹³परमेश्वरा, जी पापे करायची इच्छा मला होते, ती मला करु देऊ नकोस. त्या पापांना माझ्यावर राज्य करु देऊ नकोस. तू जर मला मदत केलीस तर मी शुध्द होईनआणी माझ्या पापांपासून मुक्त होईन.

¹⁴Let the sayings of my mouth, And the meditation of my heart, Be for a pleasing thing before Thee, O Jehovah, my rock, and my redeemer!

¹⁴माझ्या शब्दांनी आणि माझ्या विचांरांनी तुला आनंद व्हावा असे मला वाटते. परमेश्वरा, तू माझा खडक आहेस. मला वाचवणारा फक्त तूच आहेस.
