1To the Overseer, `On the Gittith.` A Psalm of David. Jehovah, our Lord, How honourable Thy name in all the earth! Who settest thine honour on the heavens.
1परमेश्वरा, माझ्या स्वामी तुझे नाव पृथ्वीवरील नावात सर्वात चांगले आहे, थोर आहे. तुझ्या नावाने तुला स्वर्गात गौरव प्राप्तकरुन दिला आहे.
2From the mouths of infants and sucklings Thou hast founded strength, Because of Thine adversaries, To still an enemy and a self-avenger.
2मुला बाळांच्या मुखातून तुझे गुणगान ऐकू येते तुझ्या शंत्रूना गप्प बसवण्यासाठी तू हे सारे करतोस.
3For I see Thy heavens, a work of Thy fingers, Moon and stars that Thou didst establish.
3परमेश्वरा, तू तुझ्या हातांनी निर्माण केलेल्या आकाशाकडे मी बघतो तू केलेल्या चंद्र आणि ताऱ्यांकडे मी बघतो. आणि मला आश्चर्य वाटते.
4What [is] man that Thou rememberest him? The son of man that Thou inspectest him?
4लोक तुला इतके महत्वाचे का वाटतात? तू त्यांची आठवण तरी का ठेवतोस? लोक तुझ्यासाठी इतके महत्वाचे का आहेत? तू त्यांची दखल तरी का घेतोस?
5And causest him to lack a little of Godhead, And with honour and majesty compassest him.
5परंतु लोक तुला महत्वाचे वाटतात. तू त्यांना जवळ जवळ देवच बनवलेस आणि तू लोकांना गौरवाचे आणि मानाचे मुकुट चढवितोस.
6Thou dost cause him to rule Over the works of Thy hands, All Thou hast placed under his feet.
6तू लोकांना तू निर्माण केलेल्या सर्व गोष्टींचे अधिपत्य दिलेस.
7Sheep and oxen, all of them, And also beasts of the field,
7लोक मेंढ्या, गाय, बैल आणि रानातले वन्य पशू यांच्यावर राज्य करतात.
8Bird of the heavens, and fish of the sea, Passing through the paths of the seas!
8ते आकाशातल्या पक्ष्यांवर आणि सागरात पोहणाऱ्या माशावर राज्य करतात.
9Jehovah, our Lord, How honourable Thy name in all the earth!
9परमेश्वरा, आमच्या स्वामी तुझे नाव पृथ्वीवरील सर्व नावात अतिशय चांगले आहे, अद्भुत आहे.
