22

1`When a man doth steal an ox or sheep, and hath slaughtered it or sold it, five of the herd he doth repay for the ox, and four of the flock for the sheep.

2`If in the breaking through, the thief is found, and he hath been smitten, and hath died, there is no blood for him;

3if the sun hath risen upon him, blood [is] for him, he doth certainly repay; if he have nothing, then he hath been sold for his theft;
3A tungah ni suak leh, amah jiakin sisan suah ding ahi: bangmah a neih keileh, huchi a hihleh aguktak jiakin amah juak ding ahi.
4if the theft is certainly found in his hand alive, whether ox, or ass, or sheep — double he repayeth.
4Van guk a khutah a hingin teltakin kimu leh, bawngtal hiin, a hihkeileh sabengtung hiam, a hihkeileh belam; a munnih a piak nawn ding ahi.
5`When a man depastureth a field or vineyard, and hath sent out his beast, and it hath pastured in the field of another, [of] the best of his field, and the best of his vineyard, he doth repay.
5Min lou hiam, grephuan hiam nekin om sakin, a gan lut sakin, midang lou ah taleh; amah lou hoihna pen leh amah grephuan hoihna pen akipanin ditna a bawl ding ahi.
6`When fire goeth forth, and hath found thorns, and a stack, or the standing corn, or the field, hath been consumed, he who causeth the burning doth certainly repay.

7`When a man doth give unto his neighbour silver, or vessels to keep, and it hath been stolen out of the man`s house; if the thief is found, he repayeth double.

8`If the thief is not found, then the master of the house hath been brought near unto God, whether he hath not put forth his hand against the work of his neighbour;
8Guta a kimuh keia ahihleh, in neipa vaihawmte kianga pi ding ahi, a invengpa van tungah a khut a kha na hiam chih thei ding in.
9for every matter of transgression, for ox, for ass, for sheep, for raiment, for any lost thing of which it is said that it is his; unto God cometh the matter of them both; he whom God doth condemn, he repayeth double to his neighbour.
9Tatlekna chi tengteng, bawngtal thu ah hiam, sabengtung thu ah hiam, belam thu ah hiam, puansilh thu ah hiam, van mang dan himhim hiam, huai midangin keia ahi a chih leh, a lang tuak thu vaihawmmite maa tut ding ahi; huan vaihawmte mohpaihpan a invengpa azahnih a piak ding ahi.
10`When a man doth give unto his neighbour an ass, or ox, or sheep, or any beast to keep, and it hath died, or hath been hurt, or taken captive, none seeing —
10Min a invengpa kiangah kep dingin sabengtung hiam, bawngtal hiam, belam hiam gan himhim hiam pekhia henla: si hiam, liam hiam, hawl mang hiama omin, kuamahin muta kei leh:
11an oath of Jehovah is between them both, that he hath not put forth his hand against the work of his neighbour, and its owner hath accepted, and he doth not repay;
11Huchiin TOUPA kichiamna amaute gel kalah a om ding: a invengpa van tungah a khut a kha kei chihna; huchiin a van neipan huai a pom dinga, a din kei ding hi.
12but if it is certainly stolen from him, he doth repay to its owner;
12Amah akipana guka a om leh, huai bel a neipa kiangah ditna a bawl ding ahi.
13if it is certainly torn, he bringeth it in — a witness; the torn thing he doth not repay.
13Boh nenin na omta leh, huchiin theihpih dingin hontawi henla, huan bohnen a ompen a din kei ding hi.
14`And when a man doth ask [anything] from his neighbour, and it hath been hurt or hath died — its owner not being with it — he doth certainly repay;
14Min a invengpa banghiam leitawi henla, liamin, hiam si leh, huaiah a neipa a kiangah om keileh, a dit ngeingei ding ahi.
15if its owner [is] with it, he doth not repay, — if it [is] a hired thing, it hath come for its hire.
15Ahihhangin a neipa a kianga a om leh, a din kei ding: van khelh a hihleh, a khelh dia hongom ahi hi.
16`And when a man doth entice a virgin who [is] not betrothed, and hath lain with her, he doth certainly endow her to himself for a wife;
16Khamsa hilou pasalin nungak khem henla, luppih leh, a ji dinga a neih ngeingei ding ahi.
17if her father utterly refuse to give her to him, money he doth weigh out according to the dowry of virgins.

18`A witch thou dost not keep alive.
18Numei mitkhialdawitawi a hin na phal ding ahi kei.
19`Whoever lieth with a beast is certainly put to death.
19Ganta luppih peuhmah sihsak ngeingei ding ahi.
20`He who is sacrificing to a god, save to Jehovah alone, is devoted.
20TOUPA kianga kia loungal, pathian himhim kianga kithoih peuhmah siat gamsak ding ahi.
21`And a sojourner thou dost not oppress, nor crush him, for sojourners ye have been in the land of Egypt.
21Mikhual na subuai hiam, na nuaisiah hiam ding ahi kei hi: Aigupta gama mikhual na hihtak jiakun.
22`Any widow or orphan ye do not afflict;
22Meithai hiam, naupang paneilou hiam nahihgenthei ding uh ahi kei.
23if thou dost really afflict him, surely if he at all cry unto Me, I certainly hear his cry;
23Bangchipeuha amau na gentheihsaka, ka kianga a kah peuhmah uhleh, a kahna uh ka ngaikhe ngeingei ding;
24and Mine anger hath burned, and I have slain you by the sword, and your wives have been widows, and your sons orphans.
24Huan ka thangpaihna a sou dinga, namsauin nou ka hon that ding; huchiin na jite uh meithai ahi ding ua, na tate uh paneilou ahi ding uh.
25`If thou dost lend My poor people with thee money, thou art not to him as a usurer; thou dost not lay on him usury;
25Na kiang ua om genthei na mite laka kuapeuh sum na leitawi sak leh, amah adinga punna bawlpa na hih louh dinga, a tunga punna na bawl louh ding ahi.
26if thou dost at all take in pledge the garment of thy neighbour, during the going in of the sun thou dost return it to him:
26Khamna dinga na inveng puansilh na lak himhima leh, ni a tumin a kianga na vapiak nawn ding ahi.
27for it alone is his covering, it [is] his garment for his skin; wherein doth he lie down? and it hath come to pass, when he doth cry unto Me, that I have heard, for I [am] gracious.
27Huailah a kikhuhna sun ahi ngala, a vun adinga a puansilh ahi: bangin a ihmu dia? huan hichi ahi dinga, ka kianga a kah chiangin a kap ka za ding; hehpihthei ka hih jiakin.
28`God thou dost not revile, and a prince among thy people thou dost not curse.
28Pathiante na kou ding ahi keia, na mite vaihawmmi leng na hamsiat ding ahi kei hi.
29`Thy fulness and thy liquids thou dost not delay; the first-born of thy sons thou dost give to Me;
29Na thei min masate, na uaina pan lan dingin na zekai ding ahi kei, na tapate laka piang masapen kei non piak ding ahi.
30so thou dost to thine ox, to thy sheep; seven days it is with its dam, on the eighth day thou dost give it to Me.
30Huchibang mahin na bawngtalte lakah leng na hih ding, na belamte lakah; ni sagih sung a pi kianga a om ding; ni giat nia kei non piak ding ahi.Huan keidingin mi siangthoute na hi ding ua; gamlaka gamsa thah sa himhim na nek louh ding uh; uite kianga na paih ding uh.
31`And ye are holy men to Me, and flesh torn in the field ye do not eat, to a dog ye do cast it.
