¹And the Spirit expressly speaketh, that in latter times shall certain fall away from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and teachings of demons,

¹Roho asema waziwazi kwamba siku za baadaye watu wengine wataitupilia mbali imani; watazitii roho danganyifu na kufuata mafundisho ya pepo.

²in hypocrisy speaking lies, being seared in their own conscience,

²Mafundisho ya namna hiyo yanaenezwa na watu waongo wadanganyifu, ambao dhamiri zao ziko kama zimechomwa kwa chuma cha moto.

³forbidding to marry — to abstain from meats that God created to be received with thanksgiving by those believing and acknowledging the truth,

³Watu hao hufundisha kwamba ni makosa kuona na pia kula vyakula fulani. Lakini Mungu aliviumba vyakula hivyo, ili wale walio waumini na ambao wanapata kuujua ukweli, wavitumie kwa shukrani.

⁴because every creature of God [is] good, and nothing [is] to be rejected, with thanksgiving being received,

⁴Kila kitu alichoumba Mungu ni chema, wala hakuna kinachohitaji kukataliwa, bali vyote vipokelewe kwa sala ya shukrani,

⁵for it is sanctified through the word of God and intercession.

⁵kwa sababu neno la Mungu na sala hukifanya kitu hicho kikubalike kwa Mungu.

⁶These things placing before the brethren, thou shalt be a good ministrant of Jesus Christ, being nourished by the words of the faith, and of the good teaching, which thou didst follow after,

⁶Kama ukiwapa ndugu wote maagizo haya, utakuwa mtumishi mwema wa Kristo Yesu, ukijiendeleza kiroho kwa maneno ya imani na mafundisho ya kweli, ambayo wewe umeyafuata.

⁷and the profane and old women`s fables reject thou, and exercise thyself unto piety,

⁷Lakini achana na hadithi zile zisizo za kidini na ambazo hazina maana. Jizoeshe kuishi maisha ya uchaji wa Mungu.

⁸for the bodily exercise is unto little profit, and the piety is to all things profitable, a promise having of the life that now is, and of that which is coming;

⁸Mazoezi ya mwili yana faida yake, lakini mazoezi ya kiroho yana faida za kila namna, maana yanatuahidia uzima katika maisha ya sasa, na pia hayo yanayokuja.

⁹stedfast [is] the word, and of all acceptation worthy;

⁹Usemi huo ni wa kusadikika kabisa na unastahili kukubaliwa.

¹⁰for for this we both labour and are reproached, because we hope on the living God, who is Saviour of all men — especially of those believing.

¹⁰Sisi tunajitahidi na kufanya kazi kwa bidii kwani tumemwekea tumaini letu Mungu aliye hai ambaye ni Mwokozi wa watu wote, na hasa wale wanaoamini.

¹¹Charge these things, and teach;

¹¹Wape maagizo hayo na mafundisho hayo.

¹²let no one despise thy youth, but a pattern become thou of those believing in word, in behaviour, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity;

¹²Usikubali mtu yeyote akudharau kwa sababu wewe ni kijana, lakini jitahidi uwe mfano kwa wanaoamini: katika usemi wako, mwenendo wako, upendo, imani na maisha safi.

¹³till I come, give heed to the reading, to the exhortation, to the teaching;

¹³Tumia wakati wako na juhudi yako katika kusoma hadharani Maandiko Matakatifu, kuhubiri na kufundisha, mpaka nitakapokuja.

¹⁴be not careless of the gift in thee, that was given thee through prophecy, with laying on of the hands of the eldership;

¹⁴Usiache kukitumia kile kipaji cha Kristo ndani yako ulichopewa kwa maneno ya manabii na kwa kuwekewa mikono na wazee.

¹⁵of these things be careful; in these things be, that thy advancement may be manifest in all things;

¹⁵Fikiri kwa makini juu ya hayo yote na kuyatekeleza kusudi maendeleo yako yaonekane na wote.

¹⁶take heed to thyself, and to the teaching; remain in them, for this thing doing, both thyself thou shalt save, and those hearing thee.

¹⁶Angalia sana mambo yako mwenyewe, na mafundisho yako. Endelea kufanya hayo maana ukifanya hivyo utajiokoa mwenyewe na wale wanaokusikiliza.
