1And having called to him his twelve disciples, he gave to them power over unclean spirits, so as to be casting them out, and to be healing every sickness, and every malady.
1Yesu aliwaita wanafunzi wake kumi na wawili, akawapa uwezo wa kutoa pepo wachafu na kuponya magonjwa na maradhi yote.
2And of the twelve apostles the names are these: first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James of Zebedee, and John his brother;
2Majina ya hao mitume kumi na wawili ni haya: wa kwanza ni Simoni aitwae Petro, na Andrea ndugu yake; Yakobo mwana wa Zebedayo, na Yohane ndugu yake;
3Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the tax-gatherer; James of Alpheus, and Lebbeus who was surnamed Thaddeus;
3Filipo na Bartholomayo, Thoma na Mathayo aliyekuwa mtoza ushuru; Yakobo mwana wa Alfayo, na Thadayo;
4Simon the Cananite, and Judas Iscariot, who did also deliver him up.
4Simoni Mkanaani, na Yuda Iskarioti ambaye alimsaliti Yesu.
5These twelve did Jesus send forth, having given command to them, saying, `To the way of the nations go not away, and into a city of the Samaritans go not in,
5Yesu aliwatuma hao kumi na wawili na kuwapa maagizo haya: "Msiende kwa watu wa mataifa mengine, wala msiingie katika mji wa Wasamaria.
6and be going rather unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
6Ila nendeni kwa watu wa Israeli waliopotea kama kondoo.
7`And, going on, proclaim saying that, the reign of the heavens hath come nigh;
7Mnapokwenda hubirini hivi: Ufalme wa mbinguni umekaribia.
8infirm ones be healing, lepers be cleansing, dead be raising, demons be casting out — freely ye did receive, freely give.
8Ponyeni wagonjwa, fufueni wafu, takaseni wenye ukoma, toeni pepo. Mmepewa bure, toeni bure.
9`Provide not gold, nor silver, nor brass in your girdles,
9Msichukue mifukoni mwenu dhahabu, wala fedha, wala sarafu za shaba.
10nor scrip for the way, nor two coats, nor sandals, nor staff — for the workman is worthy of his nourishment.
10Msichukue mkoba wa kuombea njiani, wala koti la ziada, wala viatu, wala fimbo. Maana mfanyakazi anastahili riziki yake.
11`And into whatever city or village ye may enter, inquire ye who in it is worthy, and there abide, till ye may go forth.
11"Mkiingia katika mji wowote au kijiji, tafuteni humo mtu yeyote aliye tayari kuwakaribisheni, na kaeni naye mpaka mtakapoondoka mahali hapo.
12And coming to the house salute it,
12Mnapoingia nyumbani wasalimuni wenyeji wake.
13and if indeed the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it; and if it be not worthy, let your peace turn back to you.
13Kama wenyeji wa nyumba hiyo wakiipokea salamu hiyo, basi, amani yenu itakaa pamoja nao. Lakini ikiwa hawaipokei, basi amani yenu itawarudia ninyi.
14`And whoever may not receive you nor hear your words, coming forth from that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet,
14Kama mtu yeyote atakataa kuwakaribisheni au kuwasikilizeni, basi mtokapo katika nyumba hiyo au mji huo, yakung'uteni mavumbi miguuni mwenu kama onyo kwao.
15verily I say to you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city.
15Kweli nawaambieni, Siku ya hukumu mji huo utapata adhabu kubwa kuliko ile iliyoipata miji ya Sodoma na Gomora.
16`Lo, I do send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves, be ye therefore wise as the serpents, and simple as the doves.
16"Sasa, mimi nawatuma ninyi kama kondoo kati ya mbwa mwitu. Muwe na busara kama nyoka, na wapole kama njiwa.
17And, take ye heed of men, for they will give you up to sanhedrims, and in their synagogues they will scourge you,
17Jihadharini na watu, maana watawapeleka ninyi mahakamani na kuwapiga viboko katika masunagogi yao.
18and before governors and kings ye shall be brought for my sake, for a testimony to them and to the nations.
18Mtapelekwa mbele ya watawala na wafalme kwa sababu yangu, mpate kutangaza Habari Njema kwao na kwa mataifa.
19`And whenever they may deliver you up, be not anxious how or what ye may speak, for it shall be given you in that hour what ye shall speak;
19Basi, watakapowapeleka ninyi mahakamani, msiwe na wasiwasi mtasema nini au namna gani; wakati utakapofika, mtapewa la kusema.
20for ye are not the speakers, but the Spirit of your Father that is speaking in you.
20Maana si ninyi mtakaosema, bali ni Roho wa Baba yenu asemaye ndani yenu.
21`And brother shall deliver up brother to death, and father child, and children shall rise up against parents, and shall put them to death,
21"Ndugu atamsaliti ndugu yake auawe, na baba atamsaliti mwanawe, nao watoto watawashambulia wazazi wao na kuwaua.
22and ye shall be hated by all because of my name, but he who hath endured to the end, he shall be saved.
22Watu wote watawachukieni kwa sababu ya jina langu. Lakini atakayevumilia mpaka mwisho, ataokolewa.
23`And whenever they may persecute you in this city, flee to the other, for verily I say to you, ye may not have completed the cities of Israel till the Son of Man may come.
23"Watu wakiwadhulumu katika mji mmoja, kimbilieni mji mwingine. Kweli nawaambieni, hamtamaliza ziara yenu katika miji yote ya Israeli kabla Mwana wa Mtu hajafika.
24`A disciple is not above the teacher, nor a servant above his lord;
24"Mwanafunzi si mkuu kuliko mwalimu wake, wala mtumishi si mkuu kuliko bwana wake.
25sufficient to the disciple that he may be as his teacher, and the servant as his lord; if the master of the house they did call Beelzeboul, how much more those of his household?
25Yatosha mwanafunzi kuwa kama mwalimu wake, na mtumishi kuwa kama bwana wake. Ikiwa wamemwita mkubwa wa jamaa Beelzebuli, je hawatawaita watu wengine wa jamaa hiyo majina mabaya zaidi?
26`Ye may not, therefore, fear them, for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed, and hid, that shall not be known;
26"Basi, msiwaogope watu hao. Kila kilichofunikwa kitafunuliwa, na kila kilichofichwa kitafichuliwa.
27that which I tell you in the darkness, speak in the light, and that which you hear at the ear, proclaim on the house-tops.
27Ninalowaambieni ninyi katika giza, lisemeni katika mwanga; na jambo mlilosikia likinong'onezwa, litangazeni hadharani.
28`And be not afraid of those killing the body, and are not able to kill the soul, but fear rather Him who is able both soul and body to destroy in gehenna.
28Msiwaogope wale wauao mwili, lakini hawawezi kuiua roho. Afadhali zaidi kumwogopa yule awezaye kuuangamiza mwili pamoja na roho katika moto wa Jehanamu.
29`Are not two sparrows sold for an assar? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father;
29Shomoro wawili huuzwa kwa senti tano. Lakini hata mmoja wao haanguki chini bila kibali cha Baba yenu.
30and of you — even the hairs of the head are all numbered;
30Lakini kwa upande wenu, hata nywele za vichwa vyenu zimehesabiwa zote.
31be not therefore afraid, than many sparrows ye are better.
31Kwa hiyo msiogope; ninyi mu wa thamani kuliko shomoro wengi.
32`Every one, therefore, who shall confess in me before men, I also will confess in him before my Father who is in the heavens;
32"Kila mtu anayekiri hadharani kwamba yeye ni wangu, mimi pia nitamkiri mbele ya Baba yangu aliye mbinguni.
33and whoever shall deny me before men, I also will deny him before my Father who is in the heavens.
33Lakini yeyote atakayenikana hadharani, nami nitamkana mbele ya Baba yangu aliye mbinguni.
34`Ye may not suppose that I came to put peace on the earth; I did not come to put peace, but a sword;
34"Msidhani kwamba nimekuja kuleta amani duniani. Sikuja kuleta amani bali upanga.
35for I came to set a man at variance against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law,
35Maana nimekuja kuleta mafarakano kati ya mtu na baba yake, kati ya binti na mama yake, kati ya mkwe na mkwe wake.
36and the enemies of a man are those of his household.
36Na maadui wa mtu ni watu wa nyumbani mwake.
37`He who is loving father or mother above me, is not worthy of me, and he who is loving son or daughter above me, is not worthy of me,
37"Ampendaye baba au mama yake kuliko anipendavyo mimi, hanistahili. Ampendaye mwana au binti kuliko mimi, hanistahili.
38and whoever doth not receive his cross and follow after me, is not worthy of me.
38Mtu asiyechukua msalaba wake na kunifuata, hanistahili.
39`He who found his life shall lose it, and he who lost his life for my sake shall find it.
39Anayeyashikilia maisha yake, atayapoteza; lakini anayeyapoteza maisha yake kwa ajili yangu, atayapata.
40`He who is receiving you doth receive me, and he who is receiving me doth receive Him who sent me,
40"Anayewakaribisha ninyi, ananikaribisha mimi; na anayenikaribisha mimi, anamkaribisha yule aliyenituma.
41he who is receiving a prophet in the name of a prophet, shall receive a prophet`s reward, and he who is receiving a righteous man in the name of a righteous man, shall receive a righteous man`s reward,
41Anayemkaribisha nabii kwa sababu ni nabii, atapokea tuzo la nabii. Anayemkaribisha mtu mwema kwa sababu ni mtu mwema, atapokea tuzo la mtu mwema.
42and whoever may give to drink to one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say to you, he may not lose his reward.`
42Kweli nawaambieni, yeyote atakayempa mmojawapo wa wadogo hawa kikombe cha maji baridi kwa sababu ni mfuasi wangu, hatakosa kamwe kupata tuzo lake."
