¹And he commandeth him who [is] over his house, saying, `Fill the bags of the men [with] food, as they are able to bear, and put the money of each in the mouth of his bag;

¹பின்பு, அவன் தன் வீட்டு விசாரணைக்காரனை நோக்கி: நீ இந்த மனிதருடைய சாக்குகளை அவர்கள் ஏற்றிக்கொண்டுபோகத்தக்க பாரமாய்த் தானியத்தினாலே நிரப்பி, அவனவன் பணத்தை அவனவன் சாக்கின் வாயிலே போட்டு,

²and my cup, the silver cup, thou dost put in the mouth of the bag of the young one, and his corn-money;` and he doth according to the word of Joseph which he hath spoken.

²இளையவனுடைய சாக்கின் வாயிலே வெள்ளிப்பாத்திரமாகிய என் பானபாத்திரத்தையும் தானியத்துக்கு அவன் கொடுத்த பணத்தையும் போடு என்று கட்டளையிட்டான்; யோசேப்பு சொன்னபடியே அவன் செய்தான்.

³The morning is bright, and the men have been sent away, they and their asses —

³அதிகாலையிலே அந்த மனிதர்கள் தங்கள் கழுதைகளை ஓட்டிக்கொண்டுபோகும்படி அனுப்பிவிடப்பட்டார்கள்.

⁴they have gone out of the city — they have not gone far off — and Joseph hath said to him who [is] over his house, `Rise, pursue after the men; and thou hast overtaken them, and thou hast said unto them, Why have ye recompensed evil for good?

⁴அவர்கள் பட்டணத்தை விட்டுப்புறப்பட்டு, வெகுதூரம் போவதற்கு முன்னே, யோசேப்பு தன் வீட்டு விசாரணைக்காரனை நோக்கி: நீ புறப்பட்டுப்போய், அந்த மனிதரைப் பின்தொடர்ந்து, அவர்களைப் பிடித்து: நீங்கள் நன்மைக்குத் தீமை செய்தது என்ன?

⁵Is not this that with which my lord drinketh? and he observeth diligently with it; ye have done evil [in] that which ye have done.`

⁵அது என் எஜமான் பானம்பண்ணுகிற பாத்திரம் அல்லவா? அது போனவகை ஞானதிருஷ்டியால் அவருக்குத் தெரியாதா? நீங்கள் செய்தது தகாதகாரியம் என்று அவர்களோடே சொல் என்றான்.

⁶And he overtaketh them, and speaketh unto them these words,

⁶அவன் அவர்களைத் தொடர்ந்து பிடித்து, தன்னிடத்தில் சொல்லியிருந்த வார்த்தைகளை அவர்களுக்குச் சொன்னான்.

⁷and they say unto him, `Why doth my lord speak according to these words? far be it from thy servants to do according to this word;

⁷அதற்கு அவர்கள்: எங்கள் ஆண்டவன் இப்படிப்பட்ட வார்த்தைகளைச் சொல்லுகிறது என்ன? இப்படிப்பட்ட காரியத்துக்கும் உம்முடைய அடியாராகிய எங்களுக்கும் வெகுதூரம்.

⁸lo, the money which we found in the mouth of our bags we brought back unto thee from the land of Canaan, and how do we steal from the house of thy lord silver or gold?

⁸எங்கள் சாக்குகளின் வாயிலே நாங்கள் கண்ட பணத்தைக் கானான்தேசத்திலிருந்து திரும்ப உம்மிடத்துக்குக் கொண்டுவந்தோமே; நாங்கள் உம்முடைய எஜமானின் வீட்டிலிருந்து வெள்ளியையாகிலும், பொன்னையாகிலும் திருடிக்கொண்டு போவோமா?

⁹with whomsoever of thy servants it is found, he hath died, and we also are to my lord for servants.`

⁹உம்முடைய அடியாருக்குள்ளே அது எவனிடத்தில் காணப்படுமோ அவன் கொலையுண்ணக்கடவன்; நாங்களும் எங்கள் ஆண்டவனுக்கு அடிமைகளாவோம் என்றார்கள்.

¹⁰And he saith, `Now, also, according to your words, so it [is]; he with whom it is found becometh my servant, and ye are acquitted;`

¹⁰அதற்கு அவன்: நீங்கள் சொன்னபடியே ஆகட்டும்; எவனிடத்தில் அது காணப்படுமோ, அவன் எனக்கு அடிமையாவான்; நீங்கள் குற்றமற்றிருப்பீர்கள் என்றான்.

¹¹and they hasten and take down each his bag to the earth, and each openeth his bag;

¹¹அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் துரிதமாய் அவனவன் தன்தன் சாக்கைத் தரையிலே இறக்கி, தங்கள் சாக்குகளைத் திறந்து வைத்தார்கள்.

¹²and he searcheth — at the eldest he hath begun, and at the youngest he hath completed — and the cup is found in the bag of Benjamin;

¹²மூத்தவன் சாக்குமுதல் இளையவன் சாக்குமட்டும் அவன் சோதிக்கும்போது, அந்தப் பாத்திரம் பென்யமீனுடைய சாக்கிலே கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்டது.

¹³and they rend their garments, and each ladeth his ass, and they turn back to the city.

¹³அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் தங்கள் வஸ்திரங்களைக் கிழித்துக்கொண்டு, அவனவன் கழுதையின்மேல் பொதியை ஏற்றிக்கொண்டு, பட்டணத்திற்குத் திரும்பினார்கள்.

¹⁴And Judah — his brethren also — cometh in unto the house of Joseph, and he is yet there, and they fall before him to the earth;

¹⁴யூதாவும் அவன் சகோதரரும் யோசேப்பின் வீட்டுக்குப் போனார்கள். யோசேப்பு அதுவரையும் அங்கே இருந்தான்; அவனுக்கு முன்பாகத் தரையிலே விழுந்தார்கள்.

¹⁵and Joseph saith to them, `What [is] this deed that ye have done? have ye not known that a man like me doth diligently observe?`

¹⁵யோசேப்பு அவர்களை நோக்கி: நீங்கள் என்ன காரியம் செய்தீர்கள்? என்னைப் போலொத்த மனிதனுக்கு ஞானதிருஷ்டியினால் காரியம் தெரியவரும் என்று அறியாமற்போனீர்களா என்றான்.

¹⁶And Judah saith, `What do we say to my lord? what do we speak? and what — do we justify ourselves? God hath found out the iniquity of thy servants; lo, we [are] servants to my lord, both we, and he in whose hand the cup hath been found;`

¹⁶அதற்கு யூதா: என் ஆண்டவனாகிய உம்மிடத்தில் நாங்கள் என்ன சொல்லுவோம்? என்னத்தைப் பேசுவோம்? எதினாலே எங்கள் நீதியை விளங்கப்பண்ணுவோம்? உம்முடைய அடியாரின் அக்கிரமத்தை தேவன் விளங்கப்பண்ணினார்; பாத்திரத்தை வைத்திருக்கிறவனும் நாங்களும் என் ஆண்டவனுக்கு அடிமைகள் என்றான்.

¹⁷and he saith, `Far be it from me to do this; the man in whose hand the cup hath been found, he becometh my servant; and ye, go ye up in peace unto your father.`

¹⁷அதற்கு அவன்: அப்படிப்பட்ட செய்கை எனக்குத் தூரமாயிருப்பதாக; எவன் வசத்தில் பாத்திரம் கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்டதோ, அவனே எனக்கு அடிமையாயிருப்பான்; நீங்களோ சமாதானத்தோடே உங்கள் தகப்பனிடத்துக்குப் போங்கள் என்றான்.

¹⁸And Judah cometh nigh unto him, and saith, `O, my lord, let thy servant speak, I pray thee, a word in the ears of my lord, and let not thine anger burn against thy servant — for thou art as Pharaoh.

¹⁸அப்பொழுது யூதா அவனண்டையிலே சேர்ந்து: ஆ, என் ஆண்டவனே, உமது அடியேன் உம்முடைய செவிகள் கேட்க ஒரு வார்த்தை சொல்லுகிறேன் கேட்பீராக; அடியேன்மேல் உமது கோபம் மூளாதிருப்பதாக; நீர் பார்வோனுக்கு ஒப்பாயிருக்கிறீர்.

¹⁹My lord hath asked his servants, saying, Have ye a father or brother?

¹⁹உங்களுக்குத் தகப்பனாவது சகோதரனாவது உண்டா என்று என் ஆண்டவன் உம்முடைய அடியாரிடத்தில் கேட்டீர்.

²⁰and we say unto my lord, We have a father, an aged one, and a child of old age, a little one; and his brother died, and he is left alone of his mother, and his father hath loved him.

²⁰அதற்கு நாங்கள்: எங்களுக்கு முதிர்வயதுள்ள தகப்பனாரும், அவருக்கு முதிர்வயதிலே பிறந்த ஒரு இளைஞனும் உண்டு என்றும், அவனுடைய தமையன் இறந்துபோனான் என்றும், அவன் ஒருவன்மாத்திரமே அவனைப்பெற்ற தாயாருக்கு இருப்பதினால் தகப்பனார் அவன்மேல் பட்சமாயிருக்கிறார் என்றும் என் ஆண்டவனுக்குச் சொன்னோம்.

²¹`And thou sayest unto thy servants, Bring him down unto me, and I set mine eye upon him;

²¹அப்பொழுது நீர்: அவனை என்னிடத்துக்குக் கொண்டுவாருங்கள்; என் கண்களினால் அவனைப் பார்க்கவேண்டும் என்று உமது அடியாருக்குச் சொன்னீர்.

²²and we say unto my lord, The youth is not able to leave his father, when he hath left his father, then he hath died;

²²நாங்கள் ஆண்டவனை நோக்கி: அந்த இளைஞன் தன் தகப்பனைவிட்டுப் பிரியக்கூடாது, பிரிந்தால் அவர் இறந்துபோவார் என்று சொன்னோம்.

²³and thou sayest unto thy servants, If your young brother come not down with you, ye add not to see my face.

²³அதற்கு நீர்: உங்கள் இளைய சகோதரனைக் கொண்டுவராவிட்டால், நீங்கள் இனி என் முகத்தைக் காண்பதில்லை என்று உமது அடியாருக்குச் சொன்னீர்.

²⁴`And it cometh to pass, that we have come up unto thy servant my father, that we declare to him the words of my lord;

²⁴நாங்கள் உமது அடியானாகிய என் தகப்பனாரிடத்துக்குப் போனபோது, என் ஆண்டவனுடைய வார்த்தைகளை அவருக்கு அறிவித்தோம்.

²⁵and our father saith, Turn back, buy for us a little food,

²⁵எங்கள் தகப்பனார் எங்களை நோக்கி: நீங்கள் திரும்பப்போய், நமக்குக் கொஞ்சம் தானியம் கொள்ளுங்கள் என்று சொன்னார்.

²⁶and we say, We are not able to go down; if our young brother is with us, then we have gone down; for we are not able to see the man`s face, and our young brother not with us.

²⁶அதற்கு: நாங்கள் போகக்கூடாது; எங்கள் இளைய சகோதரன் எங்களோடே வந்தால் போவோம்; எங்கள் இளைய சகோதரன் எங்களோடே வராவிட்டால், நாங்கள் அந்தப் புருஷனுடைய முகத்தைக்காணக்கூடாது என்றோம்.

²⁷`And thy servant my father saith unto us, Ye — ye have known that two did my wife bare to me,

²⁷அப்பொழுது உம்முடைய அடியானாகிய என் தகப்பனார்: என் மனைவி எனக்கு இரண்டு பிள்ளைகளைப் பெற்றாள்;

²⁸and the one goeth out from me, and I say, Surely he is torn — torn! and I have not seen him since;

²⁸அவர்களில் ஒருவன் என்னிடத்திலிருந்து போய்விட்டான், அவன் பீறுண்டுபோயிருப்பான் என்றிருந்தேன், இதுவரைக்கும் அவனைக் காணாதிருக்கிறேன், இதெல்லாம் நீங்கள் அறிந்திருக்கிறீர்கள்.

²⁹when ye have taken also this from my presence, and mischief hath met him, then ye have brought down my grey hairs with evil to sheol.

²⁹நீங்கள் இவனையும் என்னை விட்டுப்பிரித்து அழைத்துப்போகுமிடத்தில் இவனுக்கு மோசம் நேரிட்டால், என் நரைமயிரை வியாகுலத்தோடே பாதாளத்தில் இறங்கப்பண்ணுவீர்கள் என்றார்.

³⁰`And now, at my coming in unto thy servant my father, and the youth not with us (and his soul is bound up in his soul),

³⁰ஆகையால் இளையவனை விட்டு, நான் என் தகப்பனாகிய உமது அடியானிடத்துக்குப் போனால், அவருடைய ஜீவன் இவனுடைய ஜீவனோடே ஒன்றாய் இணைக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறபடியினால்,

³¹then it hath come to pass when he seeth that the youth is not, that he hath died, and thy servants have brought down the grey hairs of thy servant our father with sorrow to sheol;

³¹அவர் இளையவன் வரவில்லை என்று அறிந்தமாத்திரத்தில் இறந்துபோவார்; இப்படி உமது அடியாராகிய நாங்கள் உமது அடியானாகிய எங்கள் தகப்பனுடைய நரைமயிரை வியாகுலத்துடனே பாதாளத்தில் இறங்கப்பண்ணுவோம்.

³²for thy servant obtained the youth by surety from my father, saying, If I bring him not in unto thee — then I have sinned against my father all the days.

³²இந்த இளையவனுக்காக உமது அடியானாகிய நான் என் தகப்பனுக்கு உத்தரவாதி; அன்றியும், நான் இவனை உம்மிடத்துக்குக் கொண்டுவராவிட்டால், நான் எந்நாளும் உமக்கு முன்பாகக் குற்றவாளியாயிருப்பேன் என்று அவருக்குச் சொல்லியிருக்கிறேன்.

³³`And now, let thy servant, I pray thee, abide instead of the youth a servant to my lord, and the youth goeth up with his brethren,

³³இப்படியிருக்க, இளையவன் தன் சகோதரரோடேகூடப் போகவிடும்படி மன்றாடுகிறேன்; உம்முடைய அடியானாகிய நான் இளையவனுக்குப் பதிலாக இங்கே என் ஆண்டவனுக்கு அடிமையாயிருக்கிறேன்.

³⁴for how do I go up unto my father, and the youth not with me? lest I look on the evil which doth find my father.`

³⁴இளையவனை விட்டு, எப்படி என் தகப்பனிடத்துக்குப் போவேன்? போனால் என் தகப்பனுக்கு நேரிடும் தீங்கை நான் எப்படிக் காண்பேன் என்றான்.
