¹Paul, and Silvanus, and Timothy, unto the church of the Thessalonians in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ;

²Grace to you and peace from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

³We are bound to give thanks to God always to you, brethren, even as it is meet, for that your faith growth exceedingly, and the love of each one of you all toward one another aboundeth;

³Kinahanglan kami gihapon maghatag ug pagpasalamat sa Dios tungod kaninyo, mga igsoon, ingon nga kini angay, kay ang inyong pagtoo nagatubo sa hilabihan gayud, ug ang gugma sa tagsatagsa kaninyo nga tanan nagadagaya alang sa usa ug usa;

⁴so that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and in the afflictions which ye endure;

⁴Sa pagkaagi nga kami gayud nanaghimaya tungod kaninyo sa mga iglesia sa Dios, tungod sa inyong pagpailub ug pagtoo, diha sa tanang mga paglutos kaninyo ug mga kagul-anan nga inyong giantus;

⁵[which is] a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God; to the end that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer:

⁵Nga mao ang usa ka dayag nga timaan sa matarung nga paghukom sa Dios; aron pagpakatakuson kamo sa gingharian sa Dios nga tungod usab niini nagaantus kamo;

⁶if so be that it is righteous thing with God to recompense affliction to them that afflict you,

⁶Kong ugaling mao kini ang butang nga matarung sa Dios ang pagbalus ug kagul-anan niadtong mga nagapaguol kaninyo;

⁷and to you that are afflicted rest with us, at the revelation of the Lord Jesus from heaven with the angels of his power in flaming fire,

⁷Ug kaninyo nga ginapaguol pahulay uban kanamo sa pagpadayag sa Ginoong Jesus gikan sa langit uban sa mga manolonda sa iyang gahum,

⁸rendering vengeance to them that know not God, and to them that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus:

⁸Nga sa siga sa kalayo magahatag sa panimalus sa mga wala makaila sa Dios, ug sa mga wala magtuman sa Maayong Balita sa atong Ginoong Jesucristo:

⁹who shall suffer punishment, [even] eternal destruction from the face of the Lord and from the glory of his might,

⁹Nga manag-antus sila ug silot nga walay katapusan nga pagkalaglag gikan sa nawong sa Ginoo, ug sa himaya sa iyang gahum.

¹⁰when he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be marvelled at in all them that believed (because our testimony unto you was believed) in that day.

¹⁰Kong moabut siya aron pagahimayaon sa iyang mga balaan, ug pagkahibulongan sa tanang mga mingtoo (kay ang among pagpamatuod kaninyo gitohoan), niadtong adlawa.

¹¹To which end we also pray always for you, that our God may count you worthy of your calling, and fulfil every desire of goodness and [every] work of faith, with power;

¹¹Tungod niana nagaampo usab kami gihapon alang kaninyo, aron isipon kamo sa atong Dios nga takus sa pagtawag kaninyo, ug pagahingpiton niya ang tanang tinguha sa kaayohan ug ang buhat sa pagtoo nga may gahum;

¹²that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

¹²Aron ang ngalan sa atong Ginoong Jesucristo pagahimayaon diha kaninyo, ug kamo diha kaniya, sumala sa gracia sa atong Dios, ug sa Ginoong Jesucristo.
