¹Now [there was] a certain man in Caesarea, Cornelius by name, a centurion of the band called the Italian [band],

¹Ug didto sa Cesarea, may usa ka lalake nga ginganlan si Cornelio, capitan sa panon sa sundalo nga ginganlan Italiahanon:

²a devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, who gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God always.

²Maampoon ug mahadlokon sa Dios uban ang tibook niyang panimalay ug naghatag ug daghang mga limos sa katawohan, ug nagaampo sa gihapon sa Dios.

³He saw in a vision openly, as it were about the ninth hour of the day, an angel of God coming in unto him, and saying to him, Cornelius.

³Siya nakakita sa panan-awon sa dayag gayud sa may ikasiyam ang takna sa adlaw, sa usa ka manolonda sa Dios nga misulod didto kaniya ug miingon kaniya: Cornelio.

⁴And he, fastening his eyes upon him, and being affrighted, said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are gone up for a memorial before God.

⁴Ug mingtutuk kaniya; ug sa nahadlok siya miingon: Unsa kini, Ginoo? Siya miingon kaniya: Ang imong pag-ampo ug mga paglimos mingsaka aron mahimong handumanan sa atubangan sa Dios.

⁵And now send men to Joppa, and fetch one Simon, who is surnamed Peter:

⁵Ug magsugo ka karon ug mga tawo ngadto sa Joppe ug ipatawag mo si Simon, nga may bansagon nga si Pedro;

⁶he lodgeth with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea side.

⁶Nga nagpuyo siya uban sa usa ka Simon nga magtatabas sa panit, kansang balay anaa sa ubay sa dagat; siya magaasoy kanimo sa kinahanglan mong pagabuhaton.

⁷And when the angel that spake unto him was departed, he called two of his household-servants, and a devout soldier of them that waited on him continually;

⁷Ug sa pagbulag sa manolonda nga nakigsulti kaniya, mitawag si Cornelio ug duha sa iyang mga sulogoon sa balay ug usa ka maampoon nga sundalo sa mga nagaalagad kaniya kanunay;

⁸and having rehearsed all things unto them, he sent them to Joppa.

⁸Ug sa iyang gisuginlan sila sa tanan, gisugo sila ngadto sa Joppe.

⁹Now on the morrow, as they were on their journey, and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray, about the sixth hour:

⁹Ug sa sunod nga adlaw, sa nagalakaw sila ug sa nagakahaduol sa lungsod, si Pedro misaka sa azotea sa balay, sa pag-ampo sa haduol sa ika unom ang takna.

¹⁰and he became hungry, and desired to eat: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance;

¹⁰Ug mibati siya ug dakung kagutom, ug buot siyang mokaon. Apan samtang nagahikay pa sila, giagaw siya sa usa ka panan-awon;

¹¹and he beholdeth the heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending, as it were a great sheet, let down by four corners upon the earth:

¹¹Ug hingkit-an niya ang langit nga naablihan, ug ang usa ka sudlanan nga nagakanaug, sama sa usa ka halapad nga habol hiniktan ang upat ka kanto, nga ginatonton sa yuta:

¹²wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts and creeping things of the earth and birds of the heaven.

¹²Nga didto ang tanang kamananapan nga upat ang tiil, ug mga nagakamang sa yuta, ug mga kalanggaman sa langit.

¹³And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill and eat.

¹³Ug miabut kaniya ang usa ka tingog: Tumindog ka, Pedro; mag-ihaw ka ug kumaon.

¹⁴But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten anything that is common and unclean.

¹⁴Apan si Pedro miingon: Dili mahimo, Ginoo, kay wala gayud akoy nakaon nga butang nga bastos ug mahugaw.

¹⁵And a voice [came] unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, make not thou common.

¹⁵Ug miabut pag-usab kaniya ang tingog sa ikaduha: Dili mo paganganlan ug bastos ang mga butang gihinloan sa Dios.

¹⁶And this was done thrice: and straightway the vessel was received up into heaven.

¹⁶Ug nahitabo kini sa makatolo; ug gilayon ang sudlanan gibayaw pag-usab sa langit.

¹⁷Now while Peter was much perplexed in himself what the vision which he had seen might mean, behold, the men that were sent by Cornelius, having made inquiry for Simon's house, stood before the gate,

¹⁷Ug si Pedro sa nagaduhaduha sa iyang kaugalingon kong unsay kahulogan sa panan-awon nga iyang hingkit-an, ania karon, ang mga tawo nga gisugo ni Cornelio, sa nakapangutana na sa balay ni Simon nanindog sila sa pultahan.

¹⁸and called and asked whether Simon, who was surnamed Peter, were lodging there.

¹⁸Ug sila nagasangpit ug nangutana kong si Simon, nga may bansagon nga si Pedro, nagapuyo ba didto.

¹⁹And while Peter thought on the vision, the Spirit said unto him, Behold, three men seek thee.

¹⁹Ug sa nagapalandong si Pedro, sa panan-awon, miingon kaniya ang Espiritu: Ania karon, tolo ka tawo nagapangita kanimo;

²⁰But arise, and get thee down, and go with them, nothing doubting: for I have sent them.

²⁰Busa tumindog ka, manaug ug umoban ka kanila sa walay pagduhaduha, kay gisugo ko sila.

²¹And Peter went down to the men, and said, Behold, I am he whom ye seek: what is the cause wherefore ye are come?

²¹Unya mikanaug si Pedro ngadto sa mga tawo, ug nag-ingon: Ania karon, ako ang inyong gipangita. Unsay hinungdan nga ania kamo?

²²And they said, Cornelius a centurion, a righteous man and one that feareth God, and well reported of by all the nation of the Jews, was warned [of God] by a holy angel to send for thee into his house, and to hear words from thee.

²²Ug sila nanag-ingon: Si Cornelio, ang centurion, tawo nga matarung ug mahadlokon sa Dios, ug maayo ug kadungganan sa tibook nga nasud sa mga Judio, gipasidan-an siya sa Dios, pinaagi sa usa ka balaang manolonda, sa pagpakuha kanimo ngadto sa iyang balay, ug pagpatalinghug sa mga pulong gikan kanimo.

²³So he called them in and lodged them. And on the morrow he arose and went forth with them, and certain of the brethren from Joppa accompanied him.

²³Unya sila gipasulod niya, ug gipapuyo niya. Ug sa pagkaugma mibangon siya, ug miuban kanila, kinuyogan sa ubang mga igsoon sa Joppe.

²⁴And on the morrow they entered into Caesarea. And Cornelius was waiting for them, having called together his kinsmen and his near friends.

²⁴Ug sa sunod nga adlaw misulod sila sa Cesarea; ug si Cornelio nagapa-abut kanila, sa gipatawag niya mga kaubanan ug sandurot nga mga abyan.

²⁵And when it came to pass that Peter entered, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him.

²⁵Ug sa paghitabo nga misulod si Pedro misugat si Cornelio sa pagdawat kaniya; ug mihapa siya sa iyang tiilan, ug misimba kaniya.

²⁶But Peter raised him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man.

²⁶Apan gipatindog siya ni Pedro, nga nagaingon: Tumindog ka; ako gayud tawo man usab.

²⁷And as he talked with him, he went in, and findeth many come together:

²⁷Ug siya sa nakigsulti kaniya, misulod siya, ug hingkit-an niya ang daghan nga nanagtigum;

²⁸and he said unto them, Ye yourselves know how it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to join himself or come unto one of another nation; and [yet] unto me hath God showed that I should not call any man common or unclean:

²⁸Ug siya miingon kanila: Nanghibalo gayud kamo nga dili angay sa usa ka Judio ang pagpakigsandurot, kun pagpaduol sa usa ka dumuloong; apan ang Dios nagpahayag kanako, nga walay kinsang tawo nga paganganlan ko nga bastos kun mahugaw.

²⁹wherefore also I came without gainsaying, when I was sent for. I ask therefore with what intent ye sent for me.

²⁹Tungod usab niini mianhi ako, sa walay pagbatok, sa pagtawag mo kanako. Busa nagapangutana ako sa unsang hinungdan nga gipaanhi ako ninyo.

³⁰And Cornelius said, Four days ago, until this hour, I was keeping the ninth hour of prayer in my house; and behold, a man stood before me in bright apparel,

³⁰Ug si Cornelio miingon: May upat na ka adlaw, nga nagapuasa ako hangtud niining taknaa: ug sa takna nga ikasiyam nagaampo ako sa akong balay, ug ania karon, usa ka lalake nga may bisti nga masilaw mitungha sa akong atubangan.

³¹and saith, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God.

³¹Ug miingon: Cornelio, gipatalinghugan na ang imong pag-ampo, ug ginahinumduman sa atubangan sa Dios ang imong pagpanlimos.

³²Send therefore to Joppa, and call unto thee Simon, who is surnamed Peter; he lodgeth in the house of Simon a tanner, by the sea side.

³²Busa, magpasugo ka sa Joppe, ug pagapaanhion mo si Simon, nga may bansagon nga si Pedro, nga nagapuyo sa balay ni Simon nga magtatabas sa panit, nga anaa sa baybayon.

³³Forthwith therefore I sent to thee; and thou hast well done that thou art come. Now therefore we are all here present in the sight of God, to hear all things that have been commanded thee of the Lord.

³³Busa, gilayon gipasugoan ko ikaw; ug maayo ang imong gibuhat nga mianhi ka. Busa karon ania kaming tanan sa atubangan sa Dios sa pagpatalinghug sa tanang mga butang nga gisugo sa Dios kanimo.

³⁴And Peter opened his mouth and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:

³⁴Unya mibungat si Pedro sa iyang baba, ug miingon: Sa pagkamatuod, naila ko nga ang Dios walay pinalabi sa mga tawo;

³⁵but in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is acceptable to him.

³⁵Kondili nga sa tagsatagsa ka nasud nahamut-an niya kadtong mahadlok kaniya, ug magabuhat sa pagkamatarung.

³⁶The word which he sent unto the children of Israel, preaching good tidings of peace by Jesus Christ (He is Lord of all.) --

³⁶Ang pulong nga gipadala niya sa mga anak sa Israel, sa pagmantala sa Maayong Balita sa pakigdait tungod kang Jesucristo (mao siya ang Ginoo sa tanan);

³⁷that saying ye yourselves know, which was published throughout all Judaea, beginning from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached;

³⁷Hingbaloan ninyo ang pulong nga nasangyaw sa tibook nga Judea nga nagasugod sa Galilea, sa tapus ang pagbautismo nga gimantala ni Juan;

³⁸[even] Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed him with the Holy Spirit and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

³⁸Mahatungod kang Jesus nga Nazaretnon kong giunsa ang pagdihog sa Dios kaniya sa Espiritu Santo ug sa gahum; nga milakaw sa pagbuhat ug mga kaayohan, ug nagaayo sa tanang mga gisakit sa yawa; kay ang Dios nag-uban kaniya.

³⁹And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the country of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom also they slew, hanging him on a tree.

³⁹Ug kami mga saksi sa tanang mga butang nga gibuhat niya sa yuta sa mga Judio, ug sa Jerusalem; siya gipatay usab nila, nga ginabitay sa usa ka kahoy.

⁴⁰Him God raised up the third day, and gave him to be made manifest,

⁴⁰Siya gibanhaw sa Dios sa ikatolo ka adlaw, ug gitugutan siya nga magpakita:

⁴¹not to all the people, but unto witnesses that were chosen before of God, [even] to us, who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead.

⁴¹Dili sa tibook nga katawohan, kondili sa mga saksi nga gipili sa Dios kaniadto, bisan kanamo nga nanagpangaon ug nanagpanginum uban kaniya, sa tapus ang iyang pagkabanhaw gikan sa mga minatay.

⁴²And he charged us to preach unto the people, and to testify that this is he who is ordained of God [to be] the Judge of the living and the dead.

⁴²Ug iyang gisugo kami, nga magwali sa katawohan, ug pagapamatud-an namo nga siya mao ang gitudlo sa Dios, nga maghuhukom sa mga buhi ug sa mga minatay.

⁴³To him bear all the prophets witness, that through his name every one that believeth on him shall receive remission of sins.

⁴³Siya gipamatud-an sa tanang mga manalagna, nga pinaagi sa iyang ngalan ang tanang motoo kaniya, makadawat sa pasaylo sa mga sala.

⁴⁴While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Spirit fell on all them that heard the word.

⁴⁴Sa nagasulti pa si Pedro niining mga pulonga, mikunsad ang Espiritu Santo sa ibabaw sa tanang mga nagapatalinghug sa pulong.

⁴⁵And they of the circumcision that believed were amazed, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Spirit.

⁴⁵Ug nanghiugnok ang mga matinoohon sa circuncicion nga nag-uban kang Pedro, nga ang hiyas sa Espiritu Santo gipadahili usab sa mga Gentil.

⁴⁶For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,

⁴⁶Kay ginapatalinghugan nila nga sila nanagsulti ug mga sinultihan ug nagadayeg sa Dios.

⁴⁷Can any man forbid the water, that these should not be baptized, who have received the Holy Spirit as well as we?

⁴⁷Unya mitubag si Pedro: Aduna bay tawong arang makagpugong sa tubig aron dili pagabautismohan kini sila nga mga nakadawat usab sa Espiritu Santo sama kanamo?

⁴⁸And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.

⁴⁸Ug nagsugo siya nga pagabautismohan sila sa ngalan ni Jesucristo. Unya sila naghangyo nga magpabilin siya ug pila ka adlaw.
