¹Now the apostles and the brethren that were in Judaea heard that the Gentiles also had received the word of God.

¹Unya nakadungog ang mga apostoles ug ang mga igsoon didto sa Judea, nga ang mga Gentil mingdawat usab sa pulong sa Dios.

²And when Peter was come up to Jerusalem, they that were of the circumcision contended with him,

²Ug sa nakatungas si Pedro sa Jerusalem, ang mga cinircuncidahan nakiglalis kaniya.

³saying, Thou wentest in to men uncircumcised, and didst eat with them.

³Nga nagaingon: Miadto ka sa mga tawo nga dili cinircuncidahan ug mikaon ka uban kanila.

⁴But Peter began, and expounded [the matter] unto them in order, saying,

⁴Apan misugod si Pedro, ug misaysay kanila nga gisubay ang tanan sa pag-ingon:

⁵I was in the city of Joppa praying: and in a trance I saw a vision, a certain vessel descending, as it were a great sheet let down from heaven by four corners; and it came even unto me:

⁵Didto ako nagaampo sa lungsod sa Joppe ug sa naagaw ako sa Espiritu nakita ko ang usa ka panan-awon sa usa ka sudlanan ingon sa usa ka dakung habol, nga nagakanaug, nga hiniktan ang upat ka kanto, nga ginatonton gikan sa langit, ug miabut kanako.

⁶upon which when I had fastened mine eyes, I considered, and saw the fourfooted beasts of the earth and wild beasts and creeping things and birds of the heaven.

⁶Sa nakagtutuk ako, nagpalandong ako, ug nakita ko ang mga mananap sa yuta nga upat ang tiil, ug ang mga mananap nga mabangis, ug ang mga mananap nga nagakamang sa yuta, ug ang mga langgam sa langit.

⁷And I heard also a voice saying unto me, Rise, Peter; kill and eat.

⁷Ug nakadungog ako ug usa ka tingog, nga nag-ingon kanako: Tumindog ka, Pedro, mag-ihaw ka ug kumaon.

⁸But I said, Not so, Lord: for nothing common or unclean hath ever entered into my mouth.

⁸Apan miingon ako: Dili gayud, Ginoo, kay wala pay butang nga bastos kun mahugaw nga nakasulod bisan anus-a sa akong baba.

⁹But a voice answered the second time out of heaven, What God hath cleansed, make not thou common.

⁹Apan mitubag kanako ang tingog nga ikaduha gikan sa langit: Ang mga butang nga gihinloan sa Dios, dili mo paghinganlan nga bastos.

¹⁰And this was done thrice: and all were drawn up again into heaven.

¹⁰Ug kini gibuhat sa nakatolo, ug ang tanan gibayaw pag-usab sa langit.

¹¹And behold, forthwith three men stood before the house in which we were, having been sent from Caesarea unto me.

¹¹Ug ania karon, gilayon nagatindog ang tolo ka tawo sa atbang sa balay diin kami, nga gisugo kanako gikan sa Cesarea.

¹²And the Spirit bade me go with them, making no distinction. And these six brethren also accompanied me; and we entered into the man's house:

¹²Ug ang Espiritu miingon kanako nga mouban ako kanila sa walay pagduhaduha. Ug kining unom ka igsoon nanguban usab kanako, ug misulod kami sa balay sa tawo.

¹³and he told us how he had seen the angel standing in his house, and saying, Send to Joppa, and fetch Simon, whose surname is Peter;

¹³Ug siya nagsugilon kanamo sa unsang paagi nga nakita niya ang manolonda nga didto sa sulod sa iyang balay, ug nagaingon kaniya: Magsugo ka sa Joppe, ug paanhion mo si Simon, nga may bansagon si Pedro;

¹⁴who shall speak unto thee words, whereby thou shalt be saved, thou and all thy house.

¹⁴Siya magasulti kanimo ug mga pulong, nga tungod niana maluwas ikaw, ug ang tibook mong panimalay.

¹⁵And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell on them, even as on us at the beginning.

¹⁵Ug sa misugod ako sa pagsulti, mikunsad ang Espiritu Santo sa ibabaw nila, sama usab sa pagkunsad kanato sa sinugdan.

¹⁶And I remembered the word of the Lord, how he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized in the Holy Spirit.

¹⁶Unya nahinumdum ako sa pulong nga giingon sa Ginoo: Sa pagkamatuod, si Juan nagbautismo sa tubig; apan kamo pagabautismohan sa Espiritu Santo.

¹⁷If then God gave unto them the like gift as [he did] also unto us, when we believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I, that I could withstand God?

¹⁷Nan kong ang Dios naghatag kanila sa mao usab nga hiyas sama kanato, sa diha nga mitoo kita sa Ginoong Jesucristo, si kinsa man ako nga makapugong sa Dios?

¹⁸And when they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then to the Gentiles also hath God granted repentance unto life.

¹⁸Ug sa pagkadungog nila niining mga butanga, nangahilum sila ug nanagdayeg sa Dios, nga nagaingon: Nan diay ang Dios mihatag usab sa mga Gentil sa paghinulsol alang sa kinabuhi.

¹⁹They therefore that were scattered abroad upon the tribulation that arose about Stephen travelled as far as Phoenicia, and Cyprus, and Antioch, speaking the word to none save only to Jews.

¹⁹Busa kadtong mga nanagkatibulaag umikan sa kagul-anan nga miabut tungod kang Esteban, nanglangyaw sila hangtud sa Fenicia, ug Cipro, ug sa Antioquia, nga nagmantala sa pulong sa walay lain kondili kanila sa mga Judio lamang.

²⁰But there were some of them, men of Cyprus and Cyrene, who, when they were come to Antioch, spake unto the Greeks also, preaching the Lord Jesus.

²⁰Apan dihay uban kanila, nga mga tawo sa Cipro, ug sa Cirene, nga sa pagsulod nila sa Antioquia, nanagsulti sila sa mga Greciahanon, nga nagamantala sa Maayong Balita sa Ginoong Jesus.

²¹And the hand of the Lord was with them: and a great number that believed turned unto the Lord.

²¹Ug ang kamot sa Ginoo nag-uban kanila; ug daghan ang mingtoo, ug nangakabig ngadto sa Ginoo.

²²And the report concerning them came to the ears of the church which was in Jerusalem: and they sent forth Barnabas as far as Antioch:

²²Ug ang balita mahatungod kanila hingdunggan sa iglesia nga didto sa Jerusalem; ug gisugo nila si Bernabe hangtud sa Antioquia;

²³who, when he was come, and had seen the grace of God, was glad; and he exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord:

²³Nga, sa pag-abut niya, ug sa nakita niya ang gracia sa Dios, nalipay siya; ug nagpahamangno siya kanilang tanan nga sa kinasingkasing gayud mopabilin sila uban sa Ginoo:

²⁴for he was a good man, and full of the Holy Spirit and of faith: and much people was added unto the Lord.

²⁴Kay maayong tawo siya nga napuno sa Espiritu Santo ug sa pagtoo; ug daghang mga tawo ang gidugang ngadto sa Ginoo.

²⁵And he went forth to Tarsus to seek for Saul;

²⁵Ug migikan si Bernabe padulong sa Tarso sa pagpangita kang Saulo;

²⁶and when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that even for a whole year they were gathered together with the church, and taught much people, and that the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.

²⁶Ug sa hingkaplagan niya kini, iyang gidala sa Antioquia. Ug nahitabo nga bisan sa tibook nga usa ka tuig mitipon sila sa iglesia, ug nagtudlo sa daghan nga katawohan; ug nga ang mga tinon-an gipanghinganlan pag-una nga mga Cristohanon didto sa Antioquia.

²⁷Now in these days there came down prophets from Jerusalem unto Antioch.

²⁷Ug niadtong mga adlawa nanglugsong gikan sa Jerusalem ang mga manalagna padulong sa Antioquia.

²⁸And there stood up one of them named Agabus, and signified by the Spirit that there should be a great famine over all the world: which came to pass in the days of Claudius.

²⁸Ug may mitindog usa kanila, nga ginganlan Agabo, ug naghisgut pinaagi sa Espiritu, nga moabut ang usa ka dakung gutom sa tibook nga kalibutan; nga nahitabo usab sa mga adlaw ni Claudio.

²⁹And the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief unto the brethren that dwelt in Judea:

²⁹Ug ang mga tinon-an, ang tagsatagsa ingon sa iyang hiarangan, mituyo pagpadala ug tabang alang sa mga igsoon nga nanagpuyo sa Judea:

³⁰which also they did, sending it to the elders by the hand of Barnabas and Saul.

³⁰Nga mao usab ang gibuhat nila, pinadala nila kini sa mga anciano pinaagi sa mga kamot ni Bernabe ug ni Saulo.
