¹And after five days the high priest Ananias came down with certain elders, and [with] an orator, one Tertullus; and they informed the governor against Paul.

¹Ug sa tapus sa lima ka adlaw, milugsong ang labawng sacerdote nga si Ananias kinuyugan sa pipila ka mga anciano ug sa usa ka batid nga mamumulong nga si Tertulo, ug nanag-asoy sila sa gobernador batok kang Pablo.

²And when he was called, Tertullus began to accuse him, saying, Seeing that by thee we enjoy much peace, and that by the providence evils are corrected for this nation,

²Ug sa natawag na siya, si Tertulo misugod sa pagsumbong kaniya nga nagaingon: Sa pagtan-aw namo nga tungod kanimo nahiagum kami sa dakung kalinaw, ug nga tungod sa imong masingkamuton nga pag-agak ang mga dautan gibadlong alang niini nga nasud,

³we accept it in all ways and in all places, most excellent Felix, with all thankfulness.

³Sa gihapon gidawat kini namo sa tanang dapit sa dakung pagpasalamat, halangdon gayud nga Felix.

⁴But, that I be not further tedious unto thee, I entreat thee to hear us of thy clemency a few words.

⁴Apan, aron ako dili makalangan pag-ayo kanimo, ginapakilooy ko kanimo, nga patalinghugan mo kami sa imong puangod sa hamubong mga pulong.

⁵For we have found this man a pestilent fellow, and a mover of insurrections among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes:

⁵Kay hingkaplagan namo kining tawohana nga mananakod sa iyang pagkadautan, ug magtutukod sa mga kagubot sa tanang mga Judio sa tibook kalibutan, ug pangulo sa pundok sa mga Nazaretnon;

⁶who moreover assayed to profane the temple: on whom also we laid hold: [and we would have judged him according to our law.]

⁶Labut pa, siya nagtinguha sa pagbuling sa templo; busa, siya usab among gidakup, ug amo untang pagahukman subay sa among Kasugoan.

⁷[But the chief captain Lysias came, and with great violence took him away out of our hands,]

⁷Apan ang pangulong capitan nga si Lysias, miabut ug sa dakung paglugos iyang gikuha siya sa among mga kamot;

⁸[commanding his accusers to come before thee.] from whom thou wilt be able, by examining him thyself, to take knowledge of all these things whereof we accuse him.

⁸Nga nagsugo sa iyang mga magsusumbong nga moanha kanimo; sa pagsusi kaniya mahibaloan mo ang tanang mga butang, nga ginasumbong namo batok kaniya,

⁹And the Jews also joined in the charge, affirming that these things were so.

⁹Ug ang mga Judio usab miuyon sa sumbong, nga nagaingon nga matuod kining mga butanga.

¹⁰And when the governor had beckoned unto him to speak, Paul answered, Forasmuch as I know that thou hast been of many years a judge unto this nation, I cheerfully make my defense:

¹⁰Ug sa misinyas kaniya ang gobernador sa pagpasulti, si Pablo mitubag: Sa hingbaloan ko nga ikaw maghuhukom sa hataas nga mga tuig niini nga nasud, gikalipay ko ang paghimo sa paglaban sa akong kaugalingon:

¹¹Seeing that thou canst take knowledge that it is not more than twelve days since I went up to worship at Jerusalem:

¹¹Sa nasud-ong ko nga ikaw nahibalo nga wala pa molapas ang napulo lamang ug duha ka adlaw sukad sa pagtungas ko sa Jerusalem sa pagsimba,

¹²and neither in the temple did they find me disputing with any man or stirring up a crowd, nor in the synagogues, nor in the city.

¹²Ug wala ako nila hikit-i bisan sa templo, bisan sa mga sinagoga, bisan sa ciudad, nga nagapakiglalis kang bisan kinsa, kun nagapagubot sa katawohan.

¹³Neither can they prove to thee the things whereof they now accuse me.

¹³Ug dili usab sila makapatin-aw kanimo sa mga butang nga tungod niana ginasumbong nila karon ako.

¹⁴But this I confess unto thee, that after the Way which they call a sect, so serve I the God of our fathers, believing all things which are according to the law, and which are written in the prophets;

¹⁴Apan kini akong isugid kanimo, nga subay sa Dalan nga ginganlan nilang usa ka pundok, sa ingon nagaalgad ako sa Dios sa among mga ginikanan, nga nagatoo sa tanang mga butang nga uyon sa Kasugoan, ug nga nahisulat sa mga Manalagna.

¹⁵having hope toward God, which these also themselves look for, that there shall be a resurrection both of the just and unjust.

¹⁵Nga may paglaum sa Dios, nga kini mao usab ang ilang ginapangita, nga adunay pagkabanhaw sa mga minatay sa mga matarung ug sa mga dili matarung.

¹⁶Herein I also exercise myself to have a conscience void of offence toward God and men always.

¹⁶Niini nagapanlimbasug usab ako sa pagbaton gihapon sa akong kaugalingon sa usa ka kaisipan nga walay pagbatok sa Dios ug sa mga tawo.

¹⁷Now after some years I came to bring alms to my nation, and offerings:

¹⁷Karon sa tapus ang daghang mga tuig, mianhi ako sa pagdala ug mga limos sa akong nasud ug mga halad;

¹⁸amidst which they found me purified in the temple, with no crowd, nor yet with tumult: but [there were] certain Jews from Asia--

¹⁸Nga sa taliwala niini hingkit-an ako nila nga ginaputli sulod sa templo, nga walay pundok sa mga tawo ug walay kagubot; apan may pipila ka mga Judio nga gikan sa Asia,

¹⁹who ought to have been here before thee, and to make accusation, if they had aught against me.

¹⁹Nga kinahanglan unta moanhi dinhi sa atubangan nimo; ug magsumbong kong may bisan unsa sila batok kanako.

²⁰Or else let these men themselves say what wrong-doing they found when I stood before the council,

²⁰Kun, sa laing paagi hinoon, kini sila sa ilang kaugalingon managsaysay, kong unsay mga buhat nga dautan nga ilang hingkit-an kanako sa nagatindog ako sa atubangan sa Sanhedrin,

²¹except it be for this one voice, that I cried standing among them, Touching the resurrection of the dead I am called in question before you this day.

²¹Gawas niadtong usa ka pulong nga gisinggit ko sa diha ako sa taliwala nila: Mahatungod sa pagkabanhaw sa mga minatay, pagahukman ninyo ako karong adlawa.

²²But Felix, having more exact knowledge concerning the Way, deferred them, saying, When Lysias the chief captain shall come down, I will determine your matter.

²²Apan si Felix, nga may labing sibo nga kahibalo mahitungod sa Dalan, nag-uswag sa husay nga nagaingon: Kong manaug ang pangulong capitan nga si Lysias, pakanaugan ko sa hukom ang inyong buruka.

²³And he gave order to the centurion that he should be kept in charge, and should have indulgence; and not to forbid any of his friends to minister unto him.

²³Ug gisugo niya ang centurion nga pagabantayan si Pablo, ug tugutan siya ug diyutayng kagawasan, ug dili pagadid-an bisan kinsa sa iyang mga abyan sa pag-alagad kaniya.

²⁴But after certain days, Felix came with Drusilla, his wife, who was a Jewess, and sent for Paul, and heard him concerning the faith in Christ Jesus.

²⁴Ug sa human ang pila ka adlaw, miabut si Felix uban ang iyang asawa nga si Drusila, nga Judia, ug gipatawag niya si Pablo, ug gipatalinghugan kini mahatungod sa pagtoo kang Jesucristo.

²⁵And as he reasoned of righteousness, and self-control, and the judgment to come, Felix was terrified, and answered, Go thy way for this time; and when I have a convenient season, I will call thee unto me.

²⁵Ug sa nagasaysay siya mahatungod sa pagkamatarung, ug sa pagpugong sa kaugalingon, ug sa paghukom nga palaabuton, nahadlok si Felix, ug mitubag: Karon, lumakaw ka na; ug unya kong ako aduna nay maayong higayon, igapatawag ko ikaw.

²⁶He hoped withal that money would be given him of Paul: wherefore also he sent for him the oftener, and communed with him.

²⁶Ug nagapaabut siya nga pagahatagan siya ni Pablo ug salapi; tungod usab niini nagpatawag siya kaniya sa masubsub ug nakigsulti kaniya.

²⁷But when two years were fulfilled, Felix was succeeded by Porcius Festus; and desiring to gain favor with the Jews, Felix left Paul in bonds.

²⁷Apan sa pagkatapus sa duha ka tuig, si Felix giilisan ni Porcio Festo; ug kay buot man siya magpahamuot sa mga Judio, si Pablo gipasagdan ni Felix nga binilanggo.
