¹And as they spake unto the people, the priests and the captain of the temple and the Sadducees came upon them,

¹Ug sa nagasulti sila sa katawohan, hing-abutan sila sa mga sacerdote, ug sa capitan sa templo ug sa mga Saduceo,

²being sore troubled because they taught the people, and proclaimed in Jesus the resurrection from the dead.

²Nga nangaguol kay ginatudloan nila ang katawohan ug ginamantala nila pinaagi kang Jesus ang pagkabanhaw gikan sa mga minatay.

³And they laid hands on them, and put them in ward unto the morrow: for it was now eventide.

³Ug ilang gidakup sila ug gisulod nila sa bilanggoan hangtud sa pagkaugma: Kay hapon na kadto.

⁴But many of them that heard the word believed; and the number of the men came to be about five thousand.

⁴Apan daghan sa mga nakadungog sa pulong, mingtoo; ug ang gidaghanon sa mga lalake mikabat sa duol sa lima ka libo.

⁵And it came to pass on the morrow, that their rulers and elders and scribes were gathered together in Jerusalem;

⁵Ug nahitabo sa pagkaugma, nga nanagtigum sa Jerusalem ang ilang mga punoan, ug ang mga anciano, ug ang mga escriba,

⁶and Annas the high priest [was there], and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the high priest.

⁶Ug didto si Anas, ang labawng sacerdote, ug si Caifas, ug si Juan, ug si Alejandro, ug ang tanang mga kabanayan sa labawng sacerdote;

⁷And when they had set them in the midst, they inquired, By what power, or in what name, have ye done this?

⁷Ug sa ilang gipataliwala sila, ilang gipangutana: Sa unsa nga kagahum, kun, sa kang kinsa nga ngalan nga gibuhat ninyo kini?

⁸Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders,

⁸Unya si Pedro nga puno sa Espiritu Santo miingon kanila: Mga punoan sa katawohan, ug mga anciano,

⁹if we this day are examined concerning a good deed done to an impotent man, by what means this man is made whole;

⁹Kong kami karon pagasusihon mahatungod sa kaayohan sa usa ka tawo nga masakiton, kong sa unsa nga paagi nga naayo siya,

¹⁰be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, [even] in him doth this man stand here before you whole.

¹⁰Hibaloi ninyong tanan ug sa tibook nga katawohan sa Israel, nga tungod sa ngalan ni Jesucristo nga Nazaretnon, nga inyong gilansang sa cruz, ug nga gibanhaw sa Dios gikan sa mga minatay, tungod gayud kaniya nagatindog kining tawohana dinhi sa inyong atubangan nga maayo na.

¹¹He is the stone which was set at nought of you the builders, which was made the head of the corner.

¹¹Kini mao ang bato, nga gisalikway ninyo nga mga magtutukod, nga nahimong pangulong bato sa pamag-ang.

¹²And in none other is there salvation: for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, wherein we must be saved.

¹²Ug diha sa lain walay kaluwasan gikan kang bisan kinsa, kay walay lain nga ngalan sa ilalum sa langit, nga nahatag sa taliwala sa mga tawo, nga diha kaniya mangaluwas kita.

¹³Now when they beheld the boldness of Peter and John, and had perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.

¹³Apan sa gitan-aw nila ang kaisug ni Pedro ug ni Juan, nga hingsayran nila, nga mga tawo nga walay kaalam ug mga walay silid, nanghibulong sila; ug hing-ilhan nila, nga sila nakigkauban kang Jesus.

¹⁴And seeing the man that was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it.

¹⁴Ug sa nakita nila ang tawo, nga giayo nga nagatindog uban kanila, wala silay arang ikasulti batok niana.

¹⁵But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves,

¹⁵Ug sa ilang gipagula sila sa gawas sa Sanhedrin, nagpangutan-anay ang usa ug usa kanila,

¹⁶saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a notable miracle hath been wrought through them, is manifest to all that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it.

¹⁶Nga nagaingon: Unsay atong pagabuhaton niining mga tawohana? Kay sa pagkamatuod usa ka ilhanan nga nabantug ang gibuhat pinaagi kanila, nga gipakita sa atubangan sa tanang mga pumoluyo sa Jerusalem, ug dili kita arang makaglimod niini.

¹⁷But that it spread no further among the people, let us threaten them, that they speak henceforth to no man in this name.

¹⁸And they called them, and charged them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.

¹⁸Ug ilang gipatawag sila, ug ilang gipinahan nga bisan sa unsang paagi dili na sila managsulti bisan managpanudlo pinasikad sa ngalan ni Jesus.

¹⁹But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it is right in the sight of God to hearken unto you rather than unto God, judge ye:

¹⁹Apan si Pedro ug si Juan mingtubag kanila ug ming-ingon: Kong matarung sa atubangan sa Dios ang pagpatalinghug kaninyo labi pa kay sa Dios, hukmi ninyo.

²⁰for we cannot but speak the things which we saw and heard.

²⁰Kay kami dili makapugong sa pagsulti sa mga butang nga among hingkit-an ug hingdunggan.

²¹And they, when they had further threatened them, let them go, finding nothing how they might punish them, because of the people; for all men glorified God for that which was done.

²¹Ug sila, sa nagapadayon pa gayud sa paghulga kanila, nagapapauli kanila kay wala silay hingkaplagan nga angay sa pagsilot kanila tungod sa kahadlok sa katawohan, kay ang tanang tawo nagahimaya sa Dios tungod sa nahitabo.

²²For the man was more than forty years old, on whom this miracle of healing was wrought.

²²Kay ang tawo nga gibuhatan niining kahibulongan nga pagkaayo, may kapin na sa kap-atan ka tuig ang iyang panuigon.

²³And being let go, they came to their own company, and reported all that the chief priests and the elders had said unto them.

²³Ug sa gibuhian na sila, nangadto sila sa ilang kaugalingong mga kauban, ug ilang gisugilon ang tanan nga giingon kanila sa mga pangulong sacerdote ug sa mga anciano.

²⁴And they, when they heard it, lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, O Lord, thou that didst make the heaven and the earth and the sea, and all that in them is:

²⁴Ug sila, sa pagpakadungog niini nanagdungan sila sa pagpatugbaw sa ilang tingog ngadto sa Dios, ug nanag-ingon: Ginoo, ikaw mao ang Dios, nga nagbuhat sa langit ug sa yuta, ug sa dagat ug sa tanan nga anaa kanila;

²⁵who by the Holy Spirit, [by] the mouth of our father David thy servant, didst say, Why did the Gentiles rage, And the peoples imagine vain things?

²⁵Nga pinaagi sa Espiritu Santo, sa baba sa imong ulipon nga si David, nga among amahan, nag-ingon ka: Nganong nanagsuki ang mga Gentil, ug ang mga katawohan nanagpalandong sa mga hunahuna nga kawang?

²⁶The kings of the earth set themselves in array, And the rulers were gathered together, Against the Lord, and against his Anointed:

²⁶Nanindog ang mga hari sa yuta, ug nanag-ipon sa tingub ang mga punoan batok sa Ginoo, ug batok sa iyang Cristo.

²⁷for of a truth in this city against thy holy Servant Jesus, whom thou didst anoint, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel, were gathered together,

²⁷Kay sa pagkamatuod, si Herodes, ug si Poncio Pilato, kauban ang mga Gentil, ug ang katawohan sa Israel, nanagtigum sila dinhi niining lungsora batok sa imong balaang Ulipon nga si Jesus, nga imong gidihog,

²⁸to do whatsoever thy hand and thy council foreordained to come to pass.

²⁸Sa pagbuhat sa tanan nga gituyo sa imong kamot ug sa imong pagbulot-an, sa wala pa mahitabo.

²⁹And now, Lord, look upon their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants to speak thy word with all boldness,

²⁹Ug karon, Ginoo, tan-awa ang ilang mga hulga; ug ihatag sa imong mga ulipon ang bug-os nga kaisug sa pagsulti sa imong pulong,

³⁰while thy stretchest forth thy hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of thy holy Servant Jesus.

³⁰Samtang igatuy-od mo ang imong kamot sa pag-ayo, ug aron nga pagabuhaton ang mga ilhanan ug mga katingalahan, pinaagi sa ngalan sa imong balaang Ulipon nga si Jesus.

³¹And when they had prayed, the place was shaken wherein they were gathered together; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spake the word of God with boldness.

³¹Ug sa nakaampo na sila, nauyog ang dapit nga ginatiguman nila; ug nangapuno silang tanan sa Espiritu Santo, ug nanagsulti sa pulong sa Dios nga adunay kaisug.

³²And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and soul: and not one [of them] said that aught of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.

³²Ug ang panon sa mga tawo nga mingtoo, nausa ang ilang kasingkasing ug kalag; ug walay bisan kinsa nga nag-ingon nga kaugalingon niya ang iyang ginabatonan, kondili ang tanan nga mga butang kadaghanan nila.

³³And with great power gave the apostles their witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.

³³Ug sa daku nga kagahum nagapamatuod ang mga apostoles sa pagkabanhaw sa Ginoong Jesus: ug daku ang gracia nga diha kanilang tanan;

³⁴For neither was there among them any that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold,

³⁴Kay walay kinsa nga nakulangan kanila; kay ang tanan nga may mga kabilin kun may mga kabalayan, ginabaligya nila, ug ginadala nila ang bili sa mga butang nga nabaligya.

³⁵and laid them at the apostles' feet: and distribution was made unto each, according as any one had need.

³⁵Ug ginabutang nila sa tiilan sa mga apostoles; ug ginaapud-apud nila sa tagsatagsa ingon sa iyang kinahanglan.

³⁶And Joseph, who by the apostles was surnamed Barnabas (which is, being interpreted, Son of exhortation), a Levite, a man of Cyprus by race,

³⁶Ug si Jose, nga gitagaan sa mga apostoles sa bansagon nga Bernabe, kong hubaron: Anak sa paglipay, usa ka Levita nga taga-Cipro ug kaliwat,

³⁷having a field, sold it, and brought the money and laid it at the apostles' feet.

³⁷Nagbaligya sa iyang usa ka uma, ug gidala niya ang salapi, ug gibutang niya sa tiilan sa mga apostoles.
