¹But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession,

¹Apan usa ka tawo, nga ginganlan si Ananias, uban si Safira nga iyang asawa, nagbaligya ug usa ka katigayonan,

²and kept back [part] of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles' feet.

²Ug gitagoan niya ang bahin sa bili, nga hingbaloan usab sa iyang asawa; ug gidala niya ang usa ka bahin, ug gibutang niya sa tiilan sa mga apostoles.

³But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thy heart to lie to the Holy Spirit, and to keep back [part] of the price of the land?

³Apan miingon si Pedro: Ananias, nganong gipuno ni satanas ang imong kasingkasing, aron magbakak ka sa Espiritu Santo, ug magtago ka sa bahin sa bili sa yuta?

⁴While it remained, did it not remain thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thy power? How is it that thou hast conceived this thing in thy heart? thou has not lied unto men, but unto God.

⁴Sa diha pa kini kanimo, wala ba magpabilin nga imong kaugalingon? Ug sa nabaligya na, wala na ba sa imong pagbulot-an? Nganong gibatonan mo kini sa imong kasingkasing? Wala ka magbakak sa tawo, kondili sa Dios.

⁵And Ananias hearing these words fell down and gave up the ghost: and great fear came upon all that heard it.

⁵Ug sa pagkadungog ni Ananias niini nga mga pulonga, napukan siya ug nabugto ang iyang gininhawa; ug giabut sa dakung kahadlok ang tanang mga nakadungog niini.

⁶And the young men arose and wrapped him round, and they carried him out and buried him.

⁶Ug ang mga batan-on mitindog, ug ilang gilimisan siya, ug ilang gidala sa gawas ug gilubong,

⁷And it was about the space of three hours after, when his wife, not knowing what was done, came in.

⁷Ug sa miagi na ang tolo ka takna, misulod ang iyang asawa nga wala manghibalo sa nahitabo.

⁸And Peter answered unto her, Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much. And she said, Yea, for so much.

⁸Ug si Pedro miingon kaniya: lasoy mo kanako, gibaligya ba ninyo sa maong bili ang yuta? Ug siya miingon: Oo, sa maong bili.

⁹But Peter [said] unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to try the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them that have buried thy husband are at the door, and they shall carry thee out.

⁹Ug si Pedro miingon kaniya: Nganong nagkasabut kamo sa pagsulay sa Espiritu sa Ginoo? Ania karon, anaa sa pultahan ang mga tiil niadtong mga nanaglubong sa imong bana, ug magadala kanimo sa gawas.

¹⁰And she fell down immediately at his feet, and gave up the ghost: and the young men came in and found her dead, and they carried her out and buried her by her husband.

¹⁰Ug siya napukan gilayon sa iyang tiilan, ug nabugto ang gininhawa. Ug ang mga batan-on mingsulod, ug hingkaplagan siya nga patay na, ug siya gidala nila sa gawas, ug gilubong tupad sa iyang bana.

¹¹And great fear came upon the whole church, and upon all that heard these things.

¹¹Ang dakung kahadlok miabut sa tibook nga iglesia ug niadtong tanan nga nakadungog niining mga butanga.

¹²And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; and they were all with one accord in Solomon's porch.

¹²Ug daghang mga ilhanan ug mga katingalahan ang gibuhat pinaagi sa mga kamot sa mga apostoles sa atubangan sa katawohan. Ug didto silang tanan, nga nagkahiusa sa alagian ni Salomon.

¹³But of the rest durst no man join himself to them: howbeit the people magnified them;

¹³Apan sa uban walay nangahas sa pag-ipon kanila; labut pa niini, sila gipakadaku gayud sa katawohan.

¹⁴and believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of them and women;

¹⁴Ug nadugangan pa gayud ang mga magtotoo ngadto sa Ginoo, sa mga panon sa mga lalake, ug sa mga babaye usab;

¹⁵insomuch that they even carried out the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that, as Peter came by, at the least his shadow might overshadow some one of them.

¹⁵Sa pagkaagi nga bisan pa ang mga masakiton gidala nila ngadto sa mga dalan, ug ilang ginabutang sila sa mga higdaanan ug sa mga lantay, aron nga sa pag-agi ni Pedro, ang uban kanila malandungan bisan sa labing diyutay na lamang sa iyang anino.

¹⁶And there also came together the multitudes from the cities round about Jerusalem, bring sick folk, and them that were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.

¹⁶Ug midugok usab ang panon sa katawohan gikan sa mga lungsod nga nagalibot sa Jerusalem, nga nagadala ug mga masakiton, ug mga ginasakit sa mga espiritu nga mahugaw ug giayo silang tanan.

¹⁷But the high priest rose up, and all they that were with him (which is the sect of the Sadducees), and they were filled with jealousy,

¹⁷Apan mitindog ang labawng sacerdote, ug ang tanang kauban niya, nga mao ang pundok sa mga Saduceo, ug napuno sila sa kasina,

¹⁸and laid hands on the apostles, and put them in public ward.

¹⁸Ug gidakup nila ang mga apostoles, ug gipanulod nila sa bilanggoan sa lungsod.

¹⁹But an angel of the Lord by night opened the prison doors, and brought them out, and said,

¹⁹Apan ang usa ka manolonda sa Ginoo, miabli sa kagabhion sa mga pultahan sa bilanggoan; ug sa ilang gihatud siya sa gawas, nag-ingon:

²⁰Go ye, and stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this Life.

²⁰Lakaw kamo, ug manindog kamo sa templo ug isulti ninyo sa katawohan ang tanang mga pulong niini nga Kinabuhi.

²¹And when they heard [this], they entered into the temple about daybreak, and taught. But the high priest came, and they that were with him, and called the council together, and all the senate of the children of Israel, and sent to the prison-house to have them brought.

²¹Ug sa pagkadungog nila niini misulod sila sa buntag pa kaayo sa templo, ug nagpanudlo sila. Ug miabut ang labawng sacerdote ug ang mga kauban niya, ug gitawag ang Sanhedrin, ug ang tibook nga senado sa mga anak ni Israel, ug gipasugoan nila sa bilanggoan, aron paatubangon sila.

²²But the officers that came found them not in the prison; and they returned, and told,

²²Apan ang mga sulogoon nga miabut wala makakaplag kanila sa bilanggoan; ug mibalik sila ug nagsugilon,

²³saying, The prison-house we found shut in all safety, and the keepers standing at the doors: but when we had opened, we found no man within.

²³Nga nagaingon: Sa pagkamatuod, nakita namo ang bilanggoan, nga naserhan sa malig-on gayud, ug ang mga bantay nagatindog sa mga pultahan; apan sa pag-abli namo, walay nakita nga bisan kinsa sa sulod.

²⁴Now when the captain of the temple and the chief priests heard these words, they were much perplexed concerning them whereunto this would grow.

²⁴Ug sa pagkadungog sa capitan sa templo ug sa mga pangulong sacerdote niini nga mga pulonga, nangalibug sila mahatungod kanila kong asa kutob kini motubo.

²⁵And there came one and told them, Behold, the men whom ye put in the prison are in the temple standing and teaching the people.

²⁵Ug may usa nga miabut, ug nagsugilon kanila: Ania karon, ang mga tawo nga inyong gisulod sa bilanggoan, atua sa templo, nga nagatindog ug nagapanudlo sa katawohan.

²⁶Then went the captain with the officers, and brought them, [but] without violence; for they feared the people, lest they should be stoned.

²⁶Unya ang capitan miadto uban ang mga punoan, ug ilang gidala sila sa walay paglugos, kay nangahadlok sila sa katawohan, nga tingali panagbatoon sila.

²⁷And when they had brought them, they set them before the council. And the high priest asked them,

²⁷Ug sa gidala nila, gipaatubang sila sa Sanhedrin. Ug ang labawng sacerdote nangutana kanila,

²⁸saying, We strictly charged you not to teach in this name: and behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your teaching, and intend to bring this man's blood upon us.

²⁸Nga nagaingon: Wala ba kamo namo pagpinahi sa mapiut gayud, nga dili kamo magpanudlo niini nga ngalana? Ug ania karon, gipuno ninyo ang Jerusalem sa inyong pagtolon-an; ug buot kami ninyo sang-atan sa dugo niining tawohana.

²⁹But Peter and the apostles answered and said, We must obey God rather than men.

²⁹Ug mitubag si Pedro ug ang mga apostoles, ug nanag-ingon: Kinahanglan magsugot kami sa Dios labi kay sa mga tawo.

³⁰The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew, hanging him on a tree.

³⁰Ang Dios sa atong mga ginikanan nagbanhaw kang Jesus, nga inyong gipatay, gibitay sa usa ka kahoy.

³¹Him did God exalt with his right hand [to be] a Prince and a Saviour, to give repentance to Israel, and remission of sins.

³¹Kini gibayaw sa Dios sa iyang toong kamot aron mahimong Principe ug Manluluwas, sa paghatag kang Israel sa paghinulsol ug pasaylo sa mga sala.

³²And we are witnesses of these things; and [so is] the Holy Spirit, whom God hath given to them that obey him.

³²Ug kami mga saksi niya niining mga butanga, ug ingon man ang Espiritu Santo, nga gihatag sa Dios sa mga nagasugot kaniya.

³³But they, when they heard this, were cut to the heart, and minded to slay them.

³³Apan sa pagkadungog nila niini, gisakitan sila sa ilang kasingkasing, ug nanagkauyon sa pagpatay kanila.

³⁴But there stood up one in the council, a Pharisee, named Gamaliel, a doctor of the law, had in honor of all the people, and commanded to put the men forth a little while.

³⁴Apan may mitindog nga usa ka Fariseo sa Sanhedrin, nga ginganlan si Gamaliel, batid sa balaod, halangdon sa tibook nga katawohan, ug nagsugo nga pagulaon sa makadiyut ang mga apostoles.

³⁵And he said unto them, Ye men of Israel, take heed to yourselves as touching these men, what ye are about to do.

³⁵Ug siya miingon kanila: Mga tawo sa Israel, magmatngon kamo sa inyong kaugalingon mahitungod niining mga tawohana kong unsa ang inyong pagabuhaton.

³⁶For before these days rose up Theudas, giving himself out to be somebody; to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves: who was slain; and all, as many as obeyed him, were dispersed, and came to nought.

³⁶Kay sa wala pa kining mga adlawa mitindog si Teudas, nga nagapadakudaku sa iyang kaugalingon, nga kaniya mitipon ang may upat ka gatus ka tawo; gipatay kini siya, ug ang tanang nanagsugot kaniya, nagkatibulaag sila ug nangabanaw.

³⁷After this man rose up Judas of Galilee in the days of the enrolment, and drew away [some of the] people after him: he also perished; and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered abroad.

³⁷Sa tapus niini, mitindog si Judas, nga taga-Galilea sa mga adlaw sa padron, ug nagpasunod siya sa pipila sa katawohan; nawala usab siya, ug ang tanang mga nanagsugot kaniya, nagkatibulaag.

³⁸And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will be overthrown:

³⁸Ug karon nagaingon ako kaninyo: Pahalayo kamo niining mga tawohana ug pasagdan lamang sila: kay kong kini nga pagbulot-an, kun, kini nga buhat ila sa mga tawo, mawagtang kini;

³⁹but if it is of God, ye will not be able to overthrow them; lest haply ye be found even to be fighting against God.

³⁹Apan kong iya sa Dios, dili kamo arang makagwagtang niini: tingali hinoon makaplagan kamo nga nakig-away batok sa Dios.

⁴⁰And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles unto them, they beat them and charged them not to speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.

⁴⁰Ug sila nanagpahiuyon kaniya: ug sa gitawag nila ang mga apostoles, ilang gihampak ug gisugo sa dili na pagsulti pinasikad sa ngalan ni Jesus, ug gibuhian sila.

⁴¹They therefore departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer dishonor for the Name.

⁴¹Busa namahawa sila sa atubangan sa Sanhedrin nga mga malipayon, kay naisip sila nga takus sa pag-antus sa kaulawan tungod sa iyang Ngalan.

⁴²And every day, in the temple and at home, they ceased not to teach and to preach Jesus [as] the Christ.

⁴²Ug wala nila pag-undangi ang pagpanudlo sa matag-adlaw sulod sa templo ug sa kabalayan ug sa pagmantala kang Jesus nga mao ang Cristo.
