¹When Jesus had spoken these words, he went forth with his disciples over the brook Kidron, where was a garden, into which he entered, himself and his disciples.

¹Sa nakapamulong si Jesus niining mga pulonga, miadto siya uban sa iyang mga tinon-an tabok sa sapa sa Cedron, diin may usa ka tanaman, didto mingsulod siya ug ang iyang mga tinon-an.

²Now Judas also, who betrayed him, knew the place: for Jesus oft-times resorted thither with his disciples.

²Karon, si Judas usab, ang nagtugyan nga mabudhion kaniya, nakatultul sa dapit, kay si Jesus sa makadaghan miadto didto uban sa iyang mga tinon-an.

³Judas then, having received the band [of soldiers], and officers from the chief priests and the Pharisees, cometh thither with lanterns and torches and weapons.

³Unya si Judas, sa nakadawat sa panon sa mga sundalo, ug mga sulogoon sa mga pangulong sacerdote ug sa mga Fariseo, ming-abut didto nga may mga farol, ug mga sulo, ug mga hinagiban.

⁴Jesus therefore, knowing all the things that were coming upon him, went forth, and saith unto them, Whom seek ye?

⁴Busa si Jesus nga nanghibalo sa tanang mga mahatabo kaniya, migula ug miingon kanila: Kinsa ba ang inyong gipangita?

⁵They answered him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus saith unto them, I am [he]. And Judas also, who betrayed him, was standing with them.

⁵Sila mitubag kaniya: Si Jesus nga Nazaretnon. Si Jesus miingon kanila: Ako mao siya. Ug si Judas usab nga mao ang nagtugyan kaniya nagatindog uban kanila.

⁶When therefore he said unto them, I am [he], they went backward, and fell to the ground.

⁶Unya sa nakaingon siya kanila: Ako mao siya, nanibog sila ug nangapukan sa yuta.

⁷Again therefore he asked them, Whom seek ye? And they said, Jesus of Nazareth.

⁷Unya iyang gipangutana pag-usab sila: Kinsa ang gipangita ninyo? Ug sila miingon: Si Jesus nga Nazaretnon.

⁸Jesus answered, I told you that I am [he]; if therefore ye seek me, let these go their way:

⁸Si Jesus mitubag: Giingon ko kamo nga ako mao siya, busa kong ako ang inyong ginapangita, palakta ninyo kini sila.

⁹that the word might be fulfilled which he spake, Of those whom thou hast given me I lost not one.

⁹Aron matuman ang pulong nga iyang giingon: Niadtong tanan nga imong gihatag kanako, wala ako kawad-i bisan usa.

¹⁰Simon Peter therefore having a sword drew it, and struck the high priest's servant, and cut off his right ear. Now the servant's name was Malchus.

¹⁰Unya si Simon Pedro, nga may pinuti, miibut niini ug mitigbas sa ulipon sa labawng sacerdote, ug mipalung sa iyang too nga dalunggan. Ang ngalan sa ulipon mao si Malco.

¹¹Jesus therefore said unto Peter, Put up the sword into the sheath: the cup which the Father hath given me, shall I not drink it?

¹¹Busa si Jesus miingon kang Pedro: Isakob ang pinuti, ang copa nga gihatag kanako sa Amahan, dili ko ba pagaimnon?

¹²So the band and the chief captain, and the officers of the Jews, seized Jesus and bound him,

¹²Busa ang panon sa mga sundalo, ug ang pangulong capitan, ug ang mga sulogoon sa mga Judio nanagdakup kang Jesus ug naggapus kaniya.

¹³and led him to Annas first; for he was father in law to Caiaphas, who was high priest that year.

¹³Ug ilang gidala siya una ngadto kang Anas, kay kini mao ang ugangan ni Caifas nga mao ang labawng sacerdote niadtong tuiga.

¹⁴Now Caiaphas was he that gave counsel to the Jews, that it was expedient that one man should die for the people.

¹⁴Karon, si Caifas mao ang nagahatag ug pagtambag sa mga Judio, nga niadtong panahona kinahanglan nga mamatay ang usa ka tawo tungod sa katawohan.

¹⁵And Simon Peter followed Jesus, and [so did] another disciple. Now that disciple was known unto the high priest, and entered in with Jesus into the court of the high priest;

¹⁵Ug si Simon Pedro misunod kang Jesus, ingon man ang usa ka tinon-an. Kadto nga tinon-an kaila sa labawng sacerdote, ug misulod siya kauban ni Jesus ngadto sa hawanan sa balay sa labawng sacerdote;

¹⁶but Peter was standing at the door without. So the other disciple, who was known unto the high priest, went out and spake unto her that kept the door, and brought in Peter.

¹⁶Apan si Pedro nagatindog gawas sa pultahan. Unya ang usa ka tinon-an nga naila sa labawng sacerdote migula ug misulti sa babaye nga nagbantay sa pultahan; ug iyang gipasulod si Pedro.

¹⁷The maid therefore that kept the door saith unto Peter, Art thou also [one] of this man's disciples? He saith, I am not.

¹⁷Unya ang ulipong babaye nga nagbantay sa pultahan miingon kang Pedro: Ikaw usa ba usab sa mga tinon-an niining tawohana? Siya miingon: Dili ako.

¹⁸Now the servants and the officers were standing [there], having made a fire of coals; for it was cold; and they were warming themselves: and Peter also was with them, standing and warming himself.

¹⁸Karon, ang mga ulipon ug mga sulogoon nanagtindog didto, sa nakahaling ug kalayo sa mga uling, kay matugnaw kadto, ug nagadangka sila sa ilang kaugalingon; ug si Pedro usab uban kanila nga nagatindog ug nagadangka sa iyang kaugalingon.

¹⁹The high priest therefore asked Jesus of his disciples, and of his teaching.

¹⁹Unya ang labawng sacerdote nangutana kang Jesus mahitungod sa iyang mga tinon-an ug sa iyang pagtolon-an.

²⁰Jesus answered him, I have spoken openly to the world; I ever taught in synagogues, and in the temple, where all the Jews come together; and in secret spake I nothing.

²⁰Si Jesus mitubag kaniya: Ako nagsulti sa dayag sa kalibutan; ako sa kanunay nagtudlo sa mga sinagoga ug sa templo diin magatigum ang tanan nga mga Judio; ug wala ako magasulti sa tago.

²¹Why askest thou me? Ask them that have heard [me], what I spake unto them: behold, these know the things which I said.

²¹Nganong nangutana ka kanako? Pangutan-a ang mga nakadungog kanako, kong unsa ang akong ginasulti kanila. Ania karon, kini sila nanghibalo sa mga butang nga akong ginasulti.

²²And when he had said this, one of the officers standing by struck Jesus with his hand, saying, Answerest thou the high priest so?

²²Ug sa nakapamulong siya niini, usa sa mga sulogoon nga nagatindog sa duol misagpa kang Jesus ug miingon: Ingnon mo niana pagtubag ang labawng sacerdote?

²³Jesus answered him, If I have spoken evil, bear witness of the evil: but if well, why smitest thou me?

²³Si Jesus mitubag kaniya: Kong dautan ang akong ginasulti, pamatud-an mo ang kadautan, apan kong maayo, nganong gisagpa mo ako?

²⁴Annas therefore sent him bound unto Caiaphas the high priest.

²⁴Busa gipadala siya nga ginapus ni Anas ngadto kang Caifas, ang labawng sacerdote.

²⁵Now Simon Peter was standing and warming himself. They said therefore unto him, Art thou also [one] of his disciples? He denied, and said, I am not.

²⁵Karon, si Simon Pedro nagatindog, ug nagadangka sa iyang kaugalingon. Unya sila miingon kaniya: Usa ba usab ikaw sa iyang mga tinon-an? Siya milimod ug miingon: Dili ako.

²⁶One of the servants of the high priest, being a kinsman of him whose ear Peter cut off, saith, Did not I see thee in the garden with him?

²⁶Ang usa sa mga ulipon sa labawng sacerdote, sanglit kaubanan niadtong gipalungan ni Pedro sa dalunggan, miingon: Wala ko ba ikaw hikit-i kauban niya sa tanaman?

²⁷Peter therefore denied again: and straightway the cock crew.

²⁷Unya si Pedro milimod pag-usab; ug gilayon mituktugaok ang manok.

²⁸They lead Jesus therefore from Caiaphas into the Praetorium: and it was early; and they themselves entered not into the Praetorium, that they might not be defiled, but might eat the passover.

²⁸Busa ilang gidala si Jesus gikan kang Caifas ngadto sa Pretorio; ug sayo kadto; ug sila wala manulod sa Pretorio, aron dili sila mahugawan, kondili makakaon hinoon sa pasko.

²⁹Pilate therefore went out unto them, and saith, What accusation bring ye against this man?

²⁹Busa si Pilato migula ngadto kanila, ug miingon: Unsang sumbonga ang gidala ninyo batok niining tawohana?

³⁰They answered and said unto him, If this man were not an evildoer, we should not have delivered him up unto thee.

³⁰Sila mitubag ug miingon kaniya: Kong kining tawohana dili pa mamumuhat sa dautan, wala unta namo siya itugyan kanimo.

³¹Pilate therefore said unto them, Take him yourselves, and judge him according to your law. The Jews said unto him, It is not lawful for us to put any man to death:

³¹Unya si Pilato miingon kanila: Dad-a ninyo siya, ug inyong hukman sumala sa inyong balaod. Ang mga Judio miingon kaniya: Supak sa balaod alang kanamo ang pagpatay sa bisan kinsang tawo:

³²that the word of Jesus might be fulfilled, which he spake, signifying by what manner of death he should die.

³²Aron matuman ang pulong ni Jesus nga iyang gipamulong, nga nagapasabut kong unsang paagi sa kamatayon ang iyang pagakamatyan.

³³Pilate therefore entered again into the Praetorium, and called Jesus, and said unto him, Art thou the King of the Jews?

³³Busa si Pilato misulod pag-usab sa Pretorio, ug gitawag niya si Jesus ug miingon kaniya: Ikaw ba ang Hari sa mga Judio?

³⁴Jesus answered, Sayest thou this of thyself, or did others tell it thee concerning me?

³⁴Si Jesus mitubag: Gipamulong mo ba kini nga gikan kanimo lamang, kun gisuginlan ka ba sa uban mahitungod kanako?

³⁵Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? Thine own nation and the chief priests delivered thee unto me: what hast thou done?

³⁵Si Pilato mitubag, Judio ba ako? Ang imong kaugalingon nga nasud ug ang mga pangulong sacerdote nagtugyan kanimo nganhi kanako; unsay imong nabuhat?

³⁶Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.

³⁶Si Jesus mitubag: Ang akong gingharian dili niini nga kalibutana; kong ang akong gingharian niini pa nga kalibutana, nan ang akong mga ulipon nakig-away na unta aron dili ako ikatugyan sa mga Judio, apan karon, ang akong gingharian dili gikan dinhi.

³⁷Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end have I been born, and to this end am I come into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.

³⁷Unya si Pilato miingon kaniya: Hari ba diay ikaw? Si Jesus mitubag: Gipa mulong mo nga ako hari. Tungod niini ako nagpakatawo, ug tungod niini mianhi ako sa kalibutan, aron ako magahatag ug pagpamatuod alang sa kamatuoran. Ang tagsatagsa nga iya sa kamatuoran magapatalinghung sa akong tingog.

³⁸Pilate saith unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find no crime in him.

³⁸Si Pilato miingon kaniya: Unsay kamatuoran? Ug sa nakapamulong siya niini, migula siya pag-usab ngadto sa mga Judio, ug miingon kanila: Ako walay hingkaplagan nga kasal-anan kaniya.

³⁹But ye have a custom, that I should release unto you one at the passover: will ye therefore that I release unto you the King of the Jews?

³⁹Apan kamo adunay batasan nga kinahanglan ko ang pagbuhi alang kaninyo usa sa panahon sa pasko; busa, buot ba kamo nga pagabuhian ko alang kaninyo ang Hari sa mga Judio?

⁴⁰They cried out therefore again, saying, Not this man, but Barabbas. Now Barabbas was a robber.)

⁴⁰Unya ang tanan nanagsinggit pag-usab sapag-ingon: Dili kining tawohana, kondili si Barrabas. Si Barrabas usa ka tulisan.
