¹Whoso loveth correction loveth knowledge; But he that hateth reproof is brutish.

²A good man shall obtain favor of Jehovah; But a man of wicked devices will he condemn.

²Ang usa ka maayong tawo makabaton ug kalooy kang Jehova; Apan ang usa ka tawo nga dautan ug mga lalang iyang pagasilotan.

³A man shall not be established by wickedness; But the root of the righteous shall not be moved.

³Ang usa ka tawo dili malig-on pinaagi sa kadautan; Apan ang gamut sa matarung dili matarug.

⁴A worthy woman is the crown of her husband; But she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones.

⁴Ang usa ka babaye nga may katakus maoy purong-purong sa iyang bana; Apan kadtong nagahimo ug pagpakaulaw maingon sa pagkamadunoton sa iyang mga bukog.

⁵The thoughts of the righteous are just; [But] the counsels of the wicked are deceit.

⁵Ang mga hunahuna sa matarung lonlon mga matarung; Apan ang tambag sa dautan lonlon mga limbong.

⁶The words of the wicked are of lying in wait for blood; But the mouth of the upright shall deliver them.

⁶Ang mga pulong sa dautan maoy mga pagbanhig alang sa dugo; Apan ang baba sa matul-id magaluwas kanila.

⁷The wicked are overthrown, and are not; But the house of the righteous shall stand.

⁸A man shall be commended according to his wisdom; But he that is of a perverse heart shall be despised.

⁸Ang usa ka tawo pagadayegon sumala sa iyang kaalam; Apan kadtong may kasingkasing nga masukihon pagatamayon.

⁹Better is he that is lightly esteemed, and hath a servant, Than he that honoreth himself, and lacketh bread.

⁹Maayo pa kadtong gimahal ug diyutay, ug may usa ka sulogoon, Kay niadtong nagapasidungog sa iyang kaugalingon, ug nakulangan sa makaon.

¹⁰A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast; But the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.

¹⁰Ang usa ka tawo nga matarung nagamahal sa kinabuhi sa iyang mananap; Apan ang malomong mga kalooy sa tawong dautan mao ang kabangis.

¹¹He that tilleth his land shall have plenty of bread; But he that followeth after vain [persons] is void of understanding.

¹¹Kadtong nagauma sa iyang yuta makabaton ug daghang makaon; Apan kadtong nagasunod sa mga tawo nga walay hinungdan walay salabutan.

¹²The wicked desireth the net of evil men; But the root of the righteous yieldeth [fruit].

¹²Ang dautan nagatinguha sa pukot sa dautan nga mga tawo; Apan ang gamut sa matarung magahatag ug bunga .

¹³In the transgression of the lips is a snare to the evil man; But the righteous shall come out of trouble.

¹³Sa pagkamalapason sa mga ngabil maoy usa ka lit-ag sa dautang tawo; Apan ang matarung mahigawas gikan sa kasamok.

¹⁴A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth; And the doings of a man's hands shall be rendered unto him.

¹⁴Ang usa ka tawo mabusog sa maayo tungod sa bunga sa iyang baba; Ug ang mga buhat sa mga kamot sa usa ka tawo igahatag kaniya.

¹⁵The way of a fool is right in his own eyes; But he that is wise hearkeneth unto counsel.

¹⁵Ang dalan sa usa ka buang matarung man sa iyang kaugalingong mga mata; Apan kadtong manggialamon nagapamati ug tambag.

¹⁶A fool's vexation is presently known; But a prudent man concealeth shame.

¹⁶Ang kasuko sa usa ka buang mahibaloan dayon sa dayag; Apan ang usa ka mabinantayong tawo nagabaton ug kaulaw.

¹⁷He that uttereth truth showeth forth righteousness; But a false witness, deceit.

¹⁷Kadtong nagapamulong sa kamatuoran nagapakita ug pagkamatarung; Apan ang usa ka bakakon nga saksi nagapakita ug limbong.

¹⁸There is that speaketh rashly like the piercings of a sword; But the tongue of the wise is health.

¹⁸Adunay magapamulong sa hinanali sama sa mga paglagbas sa usa ka espada; Apan ang dila sa manggialamon makaayo.

¹⁹The lip of truth shall be established for ever; But a lying tongue is but for a moment.

¹⁹Ang ngabil sa kamatuoran pagalig-onon sa walay katapusan; Apan ang usa ka bakakong dila umalagi lamang .

²⁰Deceit is in the heart of them that devise evil; But to the counsellors of peace is joy.

²⁰Ang paglimbong maoy anaa sa kasingkasing kanila nga nagamugna ug dautan; Apan sa mga magtatambag sa pakigdait mao ang kalipay.

²¹There shall no mischief happen to the righteous; But the wicked shall be filled with evil.

²¹Walay kadaut nga mahitabo sa tawong matarung; Apan ang dautan pagapun-on sa q2 kadautan.

²²Lying lips are an abomination to Jehovah; But they that deal truly are his delight.

²²Ang bakakon nga mga ngabil du lumtanan kang Jehova; Apan kadtong nagabuhat sa kamatuoran maoy iyang kalipay.

²³A prudent man concealeth knowledge; But the heart of fools proclaimeth foolishness.

²³Ang usa ka tawong buotan nagabaton ug kahibalo; Apan ang kasingkasing sa mga buang nagabutyag sa kabuangan.

²⁴The hand of the diligent shall bear rule; But the slothful shall be put under taskwork.

²⁴Ang kamot sa makugihon magadala ug pagbulot-an; Apan ang tapulan igabutang sa usa ka mabug-at nga bulohaton.

²⁵Heaviness in the heart of a man maketh it stoop; But a good word maketh it glad.

²⁵Ang kaguol nga anaa sa kasingkasing sa usa ka tawo maoy makapatikuko kaniya; Apan ang usa ka maayong pulong makapahimo niini nga malipayon.

²⁶The righteous is a guide to his neighbor; But the way of the wicked causeth them to err.

²⁶Ang matarung maoy usa ka magtutultol sa iyang silingan; Apan ang dalan sa dautan maoy makapasalaag kanila.

²⁷The slothful man roasteth not that which he took in hunting; But the precious substance of men [is to] the diligent.

²⁷Ang tawong tapulan dili makaasal sa iyang inayaman; Apan ang bililhong manggad sa mga tawo mao ang pagkamakugihon.

²⁸In the way of righteousness is life; And in the pathway thereof there is no death.

²⁸Diha sa dalan sa pagkamatarung mao ang kinabuhi; Ug diha sa alagianan niana walay kamatayon.
