¹Hear this word that Jehovah hath spoken against you, O children of Israel, against the whole family which I brought up out of the land of Egypt, saying,

¹ Gwrandewch y gair a lefarodd yr ARGLWYDD yn eich erbyn, bobl Israel, yn erbyn yr holl deulu a ddygais i fyny o'r Aifft:

²You only have I known of all the families of the earth: therefore I will visit upon you all your iniquities.

² "Chwi'n unig a adwaenais o holl deuluoedd y ddaear; am hynny, fe'ch cosbaf chwi am eich holl gamweddau."

³Shall two walk together, except they have agreed?

³ A gerdda dau gyda'i gilydd heb wneud cytundeb?

⁴Will a lion roar in the forest, when he hath no prey? will a young lion cry out of his den, if he have taken nothing?

⁴ A rua llew yn y goedwig pan fydd heb ysglyfaeth? A waedda'r llew ifanc o'i ffau pan fydd heb ddal dim?

⁵Can a bird fall in a snare upon the earth, where no gin is [set] for him? shall a snare spring up from the ground, and have taken nothing at all?

⁵ A syrth aderyn ar y ddaear os nad oes magl iddo? A neidia'r groglath oddi ar y ddaear os nad yw wedi dal dim?

⁶Shall the trumpet be blown in a city, and the people not be afraid? shall evil befall a city, and Jehovah hath not done it?

⁶ A genir utgorn yn y ddinas heb i'r bobl ddychryn? A ddaw trychineb i'r ddinas heb i'r ARGLWYDD ei anfon?

⁷Surely the Lord Jehovah will do nothing, except he reveal his secret unto his servants the prophets.

⁷ Ni wna'r Arglwydd DDUW ddim heb ddangos ei fwriad i'w weision, y proffwydi.

⁸The lion hath roared; who will not fear? The Lord Jehovah hath spoken; who can but prophesy?

⁸ Rhuodd y llew; pwy nid ofna? Llefarodd yr Arglwydd DDUW; pwy all beidio � phroffwydo?

⁹Publish ye in the palaces at Ashdod, and in the palaces in the land of Egypt, and say, Assemble yourselves upon the mountains of Samaria, and behold what great tumults are therein, and what oppressions in the midst thereof.

⁹ Cyhoeddwch wrth geyrydd Asyria, ac wrth geyrydd gwlad yr Aifft; dywedwch, "Ymgynullwch ar fynyddoedd Samaria, ac edrych ar y terfysgoedd mawr o'i mewn, ac ar y gorthrymderau sydd ynddi."

¹⁰For they know not to do right, saith Jehovah, who store up violence and robbery in their palaces.

¹⁰ "Ni wyddant sut i wneud yr hyn sy'n iawn," medd yr ARGLWYDD. "Y maent yn pentyrru trais ac ysbail yn eu ceyrydd."

¹¹Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: An adversary [there shall be], even round about the land; and he shall bring down thy strength from thee, and thy palaces shall be plundered.

¹¹ Am hynny, fel hyn y dywed yr Arglwydd DDUW: "Daw gelyn i amgylchu'r wlad, a bwrw i lawr dy amddiffynfeydd ac ysbeilio dy geyrydd."

¹²Thus saith Jehovah: As the shepherd rescueth out of the mouth of the lion two legs, or a piece of an ear, so shall the children of Israel be rescued that sit in Samaria in the corner of a couch, and on the silken cushions of a bed.

¹² Fel hyn y dywed yr ARGLWYDD: "Fel y gwareda'r bugail ddwy goes neu ddarn o glust o safn y llew, felly o'r Israeliaid sy'n trigo yn Samaria, gwaredir cwr o fatras neu ddarn o wely."

¹³Hear ye, and testify against the house of Jacob, saith the Lord Jehovah, the God of hosts.

¹³ "Clywch, a thystiwch yn erbyn tu375? Jacob," medd yr Arglwydd DDUW, Duw'r Lluoedd.

¹⁴For in the day that I shall visit the transgressions of Israel upon him, I will also visit the altars of Beth-el; and the horns of the altar shall be cut off, and fall to the ground.

¹⁴ "Ar y dydd y cosbaf Israel am ei bechodau, fe gosbaf allorau Bethel; torrir cyrn yr allor, a syrthiant i'r llawr.

¹⁵And I will smite the winter-house with the summer-house; and the houses of ivory shall perish, and the great houses shall have an end, saith Jehovah.

¹⁵ Difethaf y tu375? gaeaf a'r tu375? haf; derfydd am y tai ifori, a daw diwedd ar y tai mawrion," medd yr ARGLWYDD.
