¹Then spake Jesus to the multitudes and to his disciples,

¹ Yna llefarodd Iesu wrth y tyrfaoedd a'i ddisgyblion.

²saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit on Moses seat:

² Dywedodd: "Y mae'r ysgrifenyddion a'r Phariseaid yn eistedd yng nghadair Moses.

³all things therefore whatsoever they bid you, [these] do and observe: but do not ye after their works; for they say, and do not.

³ Felly gwnewch a chadwch bopeth a ddywedant wrthych, ond peidiwch � dilyn eu hymddygiad, oherwydd siarad y maent, heb weithredu.

⁴Yea, they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with their finger.

⁴ Y maent yn rhwymo beichiau trymion ac anodd eu dwyn, a'u gosod ar ysgwyddau pobl, ond nid ydynt hwy eu hunain yn fodlon codi bys i'w symud.

⁵But all their works they do to be seen of men: for they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders [of their garments],

⁵ Cyflawnant eu holl weithredoedd er mwyn cael eu gweld gan eraill. Y maent yn gwneud eu phylacterau'n llydan ac ymylon eu mentyll yn llaes;

⁶and love the chief place at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues,

⁶ y maent yn hoffi cael y seddau anrhydedd mewn gwleddoedd a'r prif gadeiriau yn y synagogau,

⁷and the salutations in the marketplaces, and to be called of men, Rabbi.

⁷ a chael cyfarchiadau yn y marchnadoedd a'u galw gan bobl yn 'Rabbi'.

⁸But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your teacher, and all ye are brethren.

⁸ Ond peidiwch chwi � chymryd eich galw yn 'Rabbi', oherwydd un athro sydd gennych, a chymrodyr ydych chwi i gyd.

⁹And call no man your father on the earth: for one is your Father, [even] he who is in heaven.

⁹ A pheidiwch � galw neb yn dad ichwi ar y ddaear, oherwydd un tad sydd gennych chwi, sef eich Tad nefol.

¹⁰Neither be ye called masters: for one is your master, [even] the Christ.

¹⁰ A pheidiwch � chymryd eich galw'n arweinwyr chwaith, oherwydd un arweinydd sydd gennych, sef y Meseia.

¹¹But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.

¹¹ Rhaid i'r un mwyaf ohonoch fod yn was i chwi.

¹²And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be humbled; and whosoever shall humble himself shall be exalted.

¹² Darostyngir pwy bynnag fydd yn ei ddyrchafu ei hun, a dyrchefir pwy bynnag fydd yn ei ddarostwng ei hun.

¹³But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye shut the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye enter not in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering in to enter[.]

¹³ "Gwae chwi, ysgrifenyddion a Phariseaid, ragrithwyr, oherwydd yr ydych yn cau drws teyrnas nefoedd yn wyneb pobl; nid ydych yn mynd i mewn eich hunain, nac yn gadael i'r rhai sydd am fynd i mewn wneud hynny.

¹⁴Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, even while for a pretence ye make long prayers: therefore ye shall receive greater condemnation.

¹⁴ [{cf15i Gwae chwi, ysgrifenyddion a Phariseaid, ragrithwyr, oherwydd yr ydych yn difa cartrefi gwragedd gweddwon, ac mewn rhagrith yn gwedd�o'n faith; am hynny fe dderbyniwch drymach dedfryd.}]

¹⁵Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte; and when he is become so, ye make him twofold more a son of hell than yourselves.

¹⁵ "Gwae chwi, ysgrifenyddion a Phariseaid, ragrithwyr, oherwydd yr ydych yn cwmpasu m�r a thir i wneud un proselyt, ac wedi ei gael fe'i gwnewch yn ddwywaith cymaint o blentyn uffern ag yr ydych chwi.

¹⁶Woe unto you, ye blind guides, that say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor.

¹⁶ "Gwae chwi, arweinwyr dall sy'n dweud, 'Os bydd rhywun yn tyngu llw i'r deml, nid yw hynny'n golygu dim; ond os bydd yn tyngu i'r aur sydd yn y deml, y mae rhwymedigaeth arno.'

¹⁷Ye fools and blind: for which is greater, the gold, or the temple that hath sanctified the gold?

¹⁷ Ffyliaid a deillion, prun sydd fwyaf, yr aur ynteu'r deml, sy'n gwneud yr aur yn gysegredig?

¹⁸And, Whosoever shall swear by the altar, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gift that is upon it, he is a debtor.

¹⁸ A thrachefn fe ddywedwch, 'Os bydd rhywun yn tyngu llw i'r allor, nid yw hynny'n golygu dim; ond os bydd yn tyngu i'r offrwm sydd ar yr allor, y mae rhwymedigaeth arno.'

¹⁹Ye blind: for which is greater, the gift, or the altar that sanctifieth the gift?

¹⁹ Ddeillion, prun sydd fwyaf, yr offrwm ynteu'r allor, sy'n gwneud yr offrwm yn gysegredig?

²⁰He therefore that sweareth by the altar, sweareth by it, and by all things thereon.

²⁰ Felly y mae'r sawl sy'n tyngu llw i'r allor yn tyngu iddi hi ac i bopeth sydd arni,

²¹And he that sweareth by the temple, sweareth by it, and by him that dwelleth therein.

²¹ ac y mae'r sawl sy'n tyngu llw i'r deml yn tyngu iddi hi ac i'r hwn sy'n preswylio ynddi.

²²And he that sweareth by the heaven, sweareth by the throne of God, and by him that sitteth thereon.

²² Ac y mae'r sawl sy'n tyngu llw i'r nef yn tyngu i orsedd Duw ac i'r hwn sy'n eistedd arni.

²³Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye tithe mint and anise and cummin, and have left undone the weightier matters of the law, justice, and mercy, and faith: but these ye ought to have done, and not to have left the other undone.

²³ "Gwae chwi, ysgrifenyddion a Phariseaid, ragrithwyr, oherwydd yr ydych yn talu degwm o fintys ac anis a chwmin, ond gadawsoch heibio bethau trymach y Gyfraith, cyfiawnder a thrugaredd a ffyddlondeb, yr union bethau y dylasech ofalu amdanynt, heb adael heibio'r lleill.

²⁴Ye blind guides, that strain out the gnat, and swallow the camel!

²⁴ Arweinwyr dall! Yr ydych yn hidlo'r gwybedyn ac yn llyncu'r camel.

²⁵Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye cleanse the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full from extortion and excess.

²⁵ "Gwae chwi, ysgrifenyddion a Phariseaid, ragrithwyr, oherwydd yr ydych yn glanhau'r tu allan i'r cwpan a'r ddysgl, ond y tu mewn y maent yn llawn trachwant a hunan-foddhad.

²⁶Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first the inside of the cup and of the platter, that the outside thereof may become clean also.

²⁶ Y Pharisead dall, glanha'n gyntaf y tu mewn i'r cwpan, fel y bydd y tu allan iddo hefyd yn l�n.

²⁷Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which outwardly appear beautiful, but inwardly are full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness.

²⁷ "Gwae chwi, ysgrifenyddion a Phariseaid, ragrithwyr, oherwydd yr ydych yn debyg i feddau wedi eu gwyngalchu, sydd o'r tu allan yn ymddangos yn hardd, ond y tu mewn y maent yn llawn o esgyrn y meirw a phob aflendid.

²⁸Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but inwardly ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.

²⁸ Felly hefyd yn allanol yr ydych chwithau yn ymddangos i bobl yn gyfiawn, ond oddi mewn yr ydych yn llawn rhagrith ac anghyfraith.

²⁹Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye build the sepulchres of the prophets, and garnish the tombs of the righteous,

²⁹ "Gwae chwi, ysgrifenyddion a Phariseaid, ragrithwyr, oherwydd yr ydych yn adeiladu beddau'r proffwydi ac yn addurno beddfeini'r rhai cyfiawn,

³⁰and say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we should not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.

³⁰ ac yn dweud, 'Pe baem ni'n byw yn nyddiau ein hynafiaid, ni fyddem wedi ymuno gyda hwy i dywallt gwaed y proffwydi.'

³¹Wherefore ye witness to yourselves, that ye are sons of them that slew the prophets.

³¹ Felly yr ydych yn tystio yn eich erbyn eich hunain eich bod yn blant i'r rhai a lofruddiodd y proffwydi.

³²Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers.

³² Ewch chwithau ymlaen i orffen yr hyn a ddechreuodd eich hynafiaid.

³³Ye serpents, ye offspring of vipers, how shall ye escape the judgment of hell?

³³ Chwi seirff ac epil gwiberod, sut y dihangwch rhag barn uffern?

³⁴Therefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: some of them shall ye kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute from city to city:

³⁴ Am hynny dyma fi'n anfon atoch broffwydi a rhai doeth a rhai dysgedig; byddwch yn lladd ac yn croeshoelio rhai ohonynt, ac yn fflangellu eraill yn eich synagogau, a'u herlid o un dref i'r llall.

³⁵that upon you may come all the righteous blood shed on the earth, from the blood of Abel the righteous unto the blood of Zachariah son of Barachiah, whom ye slew between the sanctuary and the altar.

³⁵ Felly, ar eich pen chwi y bydd yr holl waed diniwed a dywalltwyd ar y ddaear, o waed Abel gyfiawn hyd at waed Sechareia fab Beracheia, a lofruddiasoch rhwng y cysegr a'r allor.

³⁶Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation.

³⁶ Yn wir, 'rwy'n dweud wrthych, ar ben y genhedlaeth hon y bydd yr holl bethau hyn.

³⁷O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, that killeth the prophets, and stoneth them that are sent unto her! how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!

³⁷ "Jerwsalem, Jerwsalem, tydi sy'n lladd y proffwydi ac yn llabyddio'r rhai a anfonwyd atat, mor aml y dymunais gasglu dy blant ynghyd, fel y mae i�r yn casglu ei chywion dan ei hadenydd, ond gwrthod a wnaethoch.

³⁸Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.

³⁸ Wele, y mae eich tu375? yn cael ei adael yn anghyfannedd.

³⁹For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed [is] he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

³⁹ Oherwydd 'rwy'n dweud wrthych, ni chewch fy ngweld o hyn allan hyd y dydd pan ddywedwch, 'Bendigedig yw'r un sy'n dod yn enw'r Arglwydd.'"
