¹This is the third time I am coming to you. At the mouth of two witnesses or three shall every word established.

¹Jen la trian fojon mi venas al vi. Laux la diro de du atestantoj aux tri cxiu vorto estu konfirmita.

²I have said beforehand, and I do say beforehand, as when I was present the second time, so now, being absent, to them that have sinned heretofore, and to all the rest, that, if I come again, I will not spare;

²Mi antauxdiris, kaj mi nun antauxdiras, kiel cxeestante la duan fojon, tiel nun forestante, al la jam pekintaj kaj al cxiuj ceteraj, ke se mi revenos, mi ne indulgos;

³seeing that ye seek a proof of Christ that speaketh in me; who to you-ward is not weak, but is powerful in you:

³cxar vi sercxas pruvon de tio, ke parolas en mi Kristo, kiu rilate al vi ne estas malforta, sed energias en vi;

⁴for he was crucified through weakness, yet he liveth through the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we shall live with him through the power of God toward you.

⁴cxar li estis krucumita pro malforto, tamen li vivas per la potenco de Dio. CXar ni ankaux estas malfortaj kune kun li, sed ni vivos kune kun li per la potenco de Dio rilate al vi.

⁵Try your own selves, whether ye are in the faith; prove your own selves. Or know ye not as to your own selves, that Jesus Christ is in you? unless indeed ye be reprobate.

⁵Provu vin mem, cxu vi estas en la fido; ekzamenu vin mem. Aux cxu vi ne scias pri vi mem, ke Jesuo Kristo estas en vi? se ja vi ne estas malaprobindaj.

⁶But I hope that ye shall know that we are not reprobate.

⁶Sed mi esperas, ke vi sciigxos, ke ni ne estas malaprobindaj.

⁷Now we pray to God that ye do no evil; not that we may appear approved, but that ye may do that which is honorable, though we be as reprobate.

⁷Ni pregxas al Dio, ke vi faru nenian malbonon; ne por tio, ke ni montrigxu aprobataj, sed por ke vi faradu tion, kio estas honorinda, ecx kvankam ni estus malaprobindaj.

⁸For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth.

⁸CXar ni ne povas fari ion kontraux la vero, sed nur por la vero.

⁹For we rejoice, when we are weak, and ye are strong: this we also pray for, even your perfecting.

⁹CXar ni gxojas, kiam ni estas malfortaj kaj vi estas fortaj; ankaux ni pregxas por via perfektigxo.

¹⁰For this cause I write these things while absent, that I may not when present deal sharply, according to the authority which the Lord gave me for building up, and not for casting down.

¹⁰Pro tio mi skribas cxi tion, forestante, por ke, cxeestante, mi ne agu severe laux la auxtoritato, kiun la Sinjoro donis al mi por edifado kaj ne por dejxetado.

¹¹Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfected; be comforted; be of the same mind; live in peace: and the God of love and peace shall be with you.

¹¹Fine, fratoj, adiaux. Perfektigxu, konsoligxu, estu unuanimaj, vivu pace; kaj la Dio de amo kaj paco estos cxe vi.

¹²Salute one another with a holy kiss.

¹²Salutu unu la alian per sankta kiso.

¹³All the saints salute you.

¹³CXiuj sanktuloj vin salutas.

¹⁴The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit, be with you all.

¹⁴La graco de la Sinjoro Jesuo Kristo kaj la amo de Dio kaj la kuneco de la Sankta Spirito estu kun vi cxiuj.
