¹Are we beginning again to commend ourselves? or need we, as do some, epistles of commendation to you or from you?

¹CXu ni denove komencas nin mem rekomendi? aux cxu ni bezonas, kiel iuj, leterojn rekomendajn al vi, aux de vi?

²Ye are our epistle, written in our hearts, known and read of all men;

²Vi mem estas nia letero, skribita sur nia koro, kaj konata kaj legata de cxiuj;

³being made manifest that ye are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in tables [that are] hearts of flesh.

³cxar vi montrigxis, ke vi estas letero de Kristo liverita per ni, skribita ne per inko, sed per la Spirito de la vivanta Dio; ne sur sxtonaj tabeloj, sed sur la karnaj tabeloj de la koro.

⁴And such confidence have we through Christ to God-ward:

⁴Kaj tian fidon ni havas per Kristo al Dio;

⁵not that we are sufficient of ourselves, to account anything as from ourselves; but our sufficiency is from God;

⁵ne kvazaux ni tauxgas ion fari per ni mem, sed nia tauxgeco estas el Dio,

⁶who also made us sufficient as ministers of a new covenant; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.

⁶kiu ankaux tauxgigis nin kiel administrantojn de nova interligo, ne laux litero, sed laux spirito; cxar la litero mortigas, sed la spirito vivigas.

⁷But if the ministration of death, written, [and] engraven on stones, came with glory, so that the children of Israel could not look stedfastly upon the face of Moses for the glory of his face; which [glory] was passing away:

⁷Sed se la administrado mortiga, esprimita per literoj kaj encxizita sur sxtonoj, estigxis en gloro, tiel, ke la Izraelidoj ne povis fikse rigardi la vizagxon de Moseo pro lia vizagxa brileco, jam tamen malpliigxanta,

⁸how shall not rather the ministration of the spirit be with glory?

⁸kiel do la administrado spirita ne estos pli multe en gloro?

⁹For if the ministration of condemnation hath glory, much rather doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory.

⁹CXar se la administrado de kondamno estas gloro, multe pli abunde la administrado de justeco superas en gloro.

¹⁰For verily that which hath been made glorious hath not been made glorious in this respect, by reason of the glory that surpasseth.

¹⁰CXar vere tio, kio havis gloron, ne estis glorigita en cxi tiu rilato, pro la superabunda gloro.

¹¹For if that which passeth away [was] with glory, much more that which remaineth [is] in glory.

¹¹CXar se tio, kio forpasas, havis gloron, ankoraux pli multe tio, kio restadas, estas en gloro.

¹²Having therefore such a hope, we use great boldness of speech,

¹²Havante do tian esperon, ni uzas grandan liberecon de parolo,

¹³and [are] not as Moses, [who] put a veil upon his face, that the children of Israel should not look stedfastly on the end of that which was passing away:

¹³kaj ne kiel Moseo, kiu metis vualon sur sian vizagxon, por ke la Izraelidoj ne fikse rigardu gxis finigxo de tio, kio estis forpasanta;

¹⁴but their minds were hardened: for until this very day at the reading of the old covenant the same veil remaineth, it not being revealed [to them] that it is done away in Christ.

¹⁴sed iliaj animoj sensentigxis; cxar ecx gxis hodiaux, cxe la legado de la malnova testamento, nelevita restadas tiu sama vualo, kiu estas forigita en Kristo,

¹⁵But unto this day, whensoever Moses is read, a veil lieth upon their heart.

¹⁵sed gxis hodiaux, kiam ajn oni legas Moseon, vualo kusxas sur ilia koro.

¹⁶But whensoever it shall turn to the Lord, the veil is taken away.

¹⁶Sed kiam ajn oni turnas sin al la Sinjoro, la vualo estas forprenata.

¹⁷Now the Lord is the Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, [there] is liberty.

¹⁷La Sinjoro estas la Spirito; kaj kie estas la Spirito de la Sinjoro, tie estas libereco.

¹⁸But we all, with unveiled face beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are transformed into the same image from glory to glory, even as from the Lord the Spirit.

¹⁸Sed ni cxiuj, per nevualita vizagxo spegulante la gloron de la Sinjoro, transformigxas en la saman bildon, de gloro al gloro, kiel el la Sinjoro la Spirito.
