¹And he said also unto the disciples, There was a certain rich man, who had a steward; and the same was accused unto him that he was wasting his goods.

¹Kaj li diris ankaux al siaj discxiploj:Estis unu ricxa homo, kiu havis administranton; kaj cxi tiu estis denuncita al li, ke li disperdas lian havon.

²And he called him, and said unto him, What is this that I hear of thee? render the account of thy stewardship; for thou canst be no longer steward.

²Kaj li alvokis lin, kaj diris al li:Kio estas tio, kion mi auxdas pri vi? donu al mi konton de via administrado, cxar vi ne plu povas administradi.

³And the steward said within himself, What shall I do, seeing that my lord taketh away the stewardship from me? I have not strength to dig; to beg I am ashamed.

³Tiam la administranto diris en si:Kion mi faru? cxar mia sinjoro deprenas de mi la administradon; fosi mi ne povas, kaj mi hontas peti almozon.

⁴I am resolved what to do, that, when I am put out of the stewardship, they may receive me into their houses.

⁴Mi decidis, kion mi faros, por ke oni akceptu min en siajn domojn, kiam mi estos eksigita el la administra ofico.

⁵And calling to him each one of his lord's debtors, he said to the first, How much owest thou unto my lord?

⁵Kaj alvokinte al si cxiun el la sxuldantoj de sia sinjoro, li diris al la unua:Kiom vi sxuldas al mia sinjoro?

⁶And he said, A hundred measures of oil. And he said unto him, Take thy bond, and sit down quickly and write fifty.

⁶Kaj li diris:Cent bat�ojn da oleo. Kaj li diris al li:Prenu vian kalkulon, kaj tuj sidigxu kaj skribu kvindek.

⁷Then said he to another, And how much owest thou? And he said, A hundred measures of wheat. He saith unto him, Take thy bond, and write fourscore.

⁷Tiam li diris al alia:Kaj kiom vi sxuldas? Kaj li diris:Cent kor�ojn da tritiko. Li diris al li:Prenu vian kalkulon, kaj skribu okdek.

⁸And his lord commended the unrighteous steward because he had done wisely: for the sons of this world are for their own generation wiser than the sons of the light.

⁸Kaj tiu sinjoro lauxdis la maljustan administranton, cxar li prudente agis; cxar la filoj de cxi tiu mondo estas en sia generacio pli prudentaj, ol la filoj de la lumo.

⁹And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends by means of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when it shall fail, they may receive you into the eternal tabernacles.

⁹Kaj mi diras al vi:Faru al vi amikojn per la mamono de maljusteco, por ke, kiam gxi mankos, oni akceptu vin en eternajn logxejojn.

¹⁰He that is faithful in a very little is faithful also in much: and he that is unrighteous in a very little is unrighteous also in much.

¹⁰Kiu estas fidela en la plej malgranda afero, tiu estas fidela ankaux en multo; kaj kiu estas maljusta en la plej malgranda, tiu estas ankaux maljusta en multo.

¹¹If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true [riches]?

¹¹Se do vi ne estis fidelaj en la maljusta mamono, kiu konfidos al vi la veran ricxon?

¹²And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another's, who will give you that which is your own?

¹²Kaj se vi ne estis fidelaj en tio, kio apartenas al alia homo, kiu donos al vi tion, kio estas via propra?

¹³No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

¹³Nenia servanto povas servi al du sinjoroj; cxar aux li malamos unu kaj amos la alian, aux li aligxos al unu kaj malestimos la alian. Vi ne povas servi al Dio kaj al Mamono!

¹⁴And the Pharisees, who were lovers of money, heard all these things; and they scoffed at him.

¹⁴Kaj la Fariseoj ankaux, kiuj estis monavidaj, auxdis cxion tion, kaj ili lin mokis.

¹⁵And he said unto them, Ye are they that justify yourselves in the sight of men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is exalted among men is an abomination in the sight of God.

¹⁵Kaj li diris al ili:Vi estas tiuj, kiuj sxajnigas sin justaj antaux homoj, sed Dio scias viajn korojn; cxar kio estas altigita inter homoj, tio estas abomenajxo antaux Dio.

¹⁶The law and the prophets [were] until John: from that time the gospel of the kingdom of God is preached, and every man entereth violently into it.

¹⁶La legxo kaj la profetoj estis gxis Johano; de post tiu tempo la evangelio de la regno de Dio estas predikata, kaj cxiu al gxi sin perforte aligas.

¹⁷But it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away, than for one tittle of the law to fall.

¹⁷Sed estas pli facile por la cxielo kaj la tero forpasi, ol por unu punkteto de la legxo fali.

¹⁸Every one that putteth away his wife, and marrieth another, committeth adultery: and he that marrieth one that is put away from a husband committeth adultery.

¹⁸CXiu, kiu forsendas sian edzinon kaj edzigxas kun alia, adultas; kaj kiu edzigxas kun tiu, forsendita de sia edzo, tiu adultas.

¹⁹Now there was a certain rich man, and he was clothed in purple and fine linen, faring sumptuously every day:

¹⁹Estis unu ricxulo, kiu estis vestita per purpuro kaj bisino, kaj festis lukse cxiutage;

²⁰and a certain beggar named Lazarus was laid at his gate, full of sores,

²⁰kaj apud lia pordego estis kusxigita almozulo, nomata Lazaro, kiu havis ulcerojn,

²¹and desiring to be fed with the [crumbs] that fell from the rich man's table; yea, even the dogs come and licked his sores.

²¹kaj deziris esti nutrata per la panpecetoj, kiuj falis de la tablo de la ricxulo; kaj ecx venis la hundoj kaj lekis liajn ulcerojn.

²²And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and that he was carried away by the angels into Abraham's bosom: and the rich man also died, and was buried.

²²Kaj la almozulo mortis, kaj li estis forportita de la angxeloj sur la sinon de Abraham; la ricxulo ankaux mortis, kaj estis enterigita.

²³And in Hades he lifted up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

²³Kaj en Hades li levis siajn okulojn, estante en turmentoj, kaj vidis Abrahamon malproksime kaj Lazaron sur lia sino.

²⁴And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am in anguish in this flame.

²⁴Kaj li ekkriis, kaj diris:Patro Abraham, kompatu min, kaj sendu Lazaron, por ke li trempu en akvon la pinton de sia fingro, por malvarmigi mian langon; cxar mi tre suferas en cxi tiu flamo.

²⁵But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and Lazarus in like manner evil things: but now here he is comforted and thou art in anguish.

²⁵Sed Abraham diris:Filo, memoru, ke dum via vivo vi ricevis viajn bonajxojn, kaj Lazaro tiel same malbonajxojn; sed nun li ricevas konsolon, kaj vi suferas.

²⁶And besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, that they that would pass from hence to you may not be able, and that none may cross over from thence to us.

²⁶Kaj krom cxio tio staras granda abismo inter ni kaj vi, tiel ke tiuj, kiuj volus iri de cxi tie al vi, ne povas, kaj oni ne povas transiri de tie al ni.

²⁷And he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house;

²⁷Kaj li diris:Tial mi petas, patro, ke vi sendu lin al la domo de mia patro,

²⁸for I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.

²⁸cxar mi havas kvin fratojn, por ke li atestu al ili, por ke ili ne venu ankaux en cxi tiun lokon de turmento.

²⁹But Abraham saith, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.

²⁹Sed Abraham diris:Ili havas Moseon kaj la profetojn; ili auxskultu ilin.

³⁰And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one go to them from the dead, they will repent.

³⁰Sed li diris:Ne, patro Abraham; sed se unu venos al ili el la mortintoj, ili pentos.

³¹And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, if one rise from the dead.

³¹Kaj li diris al li:Se ili ne auxskultas Moseon kaj la profetojn, ili ne kredos, ecx se iu levigxus el la mortintoj.
