1If then ye were raised together with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated on the right hand of God.
1Kui te nüüd koos Kristusega olete üles äratatud, siis otsige seda, mis on ülal, kus Kristus istub Jumala paremal käel;
2Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are upon the earth.
2mõtelge sellele, mis on ülal, mitte sellele, mis on maa peal,
3For ye died, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
3sest te olete surnud ja teie elu on koos Kristusega Jumalas.
4When Christ, [who is] our life, shall be manifested, then shall ye also with him be manifested in glory.
4Kui Kristus, teie elu, saab avalikuks, siis saate ka teie koos temaga avalikuks kirkuses.
5Put to death therefore your members which are upon the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry;
5Surmake nüüd need liikmed, mis on maa peal: hoorus, rüvedus, kirg, kuri himu ja ahnus, mis on ebajumalateenistus.
6for which things' sake cometh the wrath of God upon the sons of disobedience:
6Nende pärast tuleb Jumala viha [sõnakuulmatute laste peale].
7wherein ye also once walked, when ye lived in these things;
7Nendes käisite muiste ka teie, kui te elasite selliselt.
8but now do ye also put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, railing, shameful speaking out of your mouth:
8Nüüd aga jätke teiegi maha see kõik: viha, raev, kurjus, teotamine, siivutud sõnad oma suust.
9lie not one to another; seeing that ye have put off the old man with his doings,
9Ärge valetage üksteisele, sest te olete seljast võtnud vana inimese tema tegudega
10and have put on the new man, that is being renewed unto knowledge after the image of him that created him:
10ja olete rõivastunud uude inimesse, kes pidevalt uueneb tunnetama oma Looja näo kohaselt.
11where there cannot be Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, bondman, freeman; but Christ is all, and in all.
11Kui see sünnib, siis ei ole enam kreeklast ega juuti, ei ümberlõigatut ega ümberlõikamatut, ei umbkeelset ega sküüti, ei orja ega vaba, vaid kõik ja kõikides on Kristus.
12Put on therefore, as God's elect, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, meekness, longsuffering;
12Rõivastuge siis nagu Jumala valitud pühad ja armastatud südamliku kaastundega, lahkusega, alandlikkusega, tasadusega ja pika meelega,
13forbearing one another, and forgiving each other, if any man have a complaint against any; even as the Lord forgave you, so also do ye:
13üksteist taludes ja üksteisele andestades, kui kellelgi on teise vastu kaebust. Nii nagu Issand teile on andeks andnud, nõnda tehke teiegi!
14and above all these things [put on] love, which is the bond of perfectness.
14Aga üle kõige selle olgu armastus - see on täiuslik side!
15And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to the which also ye were called in one body; and be ye thankful.
15Ja teie südameis valitsegu Kristuse rahu, millesse te olete kutsutud ühe ihuna. Ja olge tänulikud!
16Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms [and] hymns [and] spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts unto God.
16Kristuse sõna elagu rikkalikult teie seas, kõiges tarkuses õpetage ja manitsege üksteist psalmide, hümnide ja vaimulike lauludega, laulge kogu südamest tänulikult Jumalale!
17And whatsoever ye do, in word or in deed, [do] all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
17Ja kõik, mida te iial teete sõnaga või teoga, seda tehke Issanda Jeesuse nimel, tema läbi Jumalat Isa tänades!
18Wives, be in subjection to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.
18Naised, alistuge meestele, nagu on sünnis Issandas!
19Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.
19Mehed, armastage naisi ja ärge olge karmid nende vastu!
20Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well-pleasing in the Lord.
20Lapsed, olge oma vanemaile kuulekad kõigis asjus, sest see on Issandale meelepärane!
21Fathers, provoke not your children, that they be not discouraged.
21Isad, ärge riielge oma lastega, et nad ei muutuks araks!
22Servants, obey in all things them that are your masters according to the flesh; not with eye-service, as men-pleasers, but in singleness of heart, fearing the Lord:
22Orjad, olge oma maistele isandatele kuulekad kõiges, mitte silmapetteks nagu inimeste ees lipitsemiseks, vaid siira südamega, kartes Issandat.
23whatsoever ye do, work heartily, as unto the Lord, and not unto men;
23Mida te iial teete, seda tehke kogu hingest, nõnda nagu Issandale ja mitte nagu inimestele,
24knowing that from the Lord ye shall receive the recompense of the inheritance: ye serve the Lord Christ.
24teades, et te saate Issandalt palgaks pärisosa. Teenige Issandat Kristust!
25For he that doeth wrong shall receive again for the wrong that he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.
25Sest kes teeb ülekohut, saab kätte, mis ta on teinud ülekohut, ja ei ole mingit erapoolikust.
