¹And Job again took up his parable, and said,

¹Ja Iiob jätkas oma kõnet ning ütles:

²As God liveth, who hath taken away my right, And the Almighty, who hath vexed my soul:

²'Nii tõesti kui elab Jumal, kes võttis ära mu õiguse, ja Kõigevägevam, kes kibestas mu hinge;

³(For my life is yet whole in me, And the spirit of God is in my nostrils);

³niikaua kui minus on veel hingeõhku ja mu ninas Jumala hõngu,

⁴Surely my lips shall not speak unrighteousness, Neither shall my tongue utter deceit.

⁴ei räägi mu huuled valet ega kõnele mu keel pettust.

⁵Far be it from me that I should justify you: Till I die I will not put away mine integrity from me.

⁵Jäägu see minust kaugele, et annaksin teile õiguse! Kuni ma pole hinge heitnud, ei loobu ma oma vagadusest.

⁶My righteousness I hold fast, and will not let it go: My heart shall not reproach [me] so long as I live.

⁶Ma hoian kinni oma õigusest ega jäta seda, mu süda ei laida mind ühegi mu elupäeva pärast.

⁷Let mine enemy be as the wicked, And let him that riseth up against me be as the unrighteous.

⁷Käigu mu vaenlasel käsi nagu õelal ja mu vastasel otsekui kurjategijal!

⁸For what is the hope of the godless, though he get him gain, When God taketh away his soul?

⁸Sest mis lootus on jumalatul, kui Jumal ta ära lõikab, kui ta tema hinge nõuab?

⁹Will God hear his cry, When trouble cometh upon him?

⁹Kas Jumal peaks kuulma ta kisendamist, kui talle kitsas kätte tuleb?

¹⁰Will he delight himself in the Almighty, And call upon God at all times?

¹⁰Kas ta tunneb rõõmu Kõigevägevamast? Kas ta hüüab Jumalat appi igal ajal?

¹¹I will teach you concerning the hand of God; That which is with the Almighty will I not conceal.

¹¹Ma tahan teile õpetada Jumala kätt; mida Kõigevägevam mõtleb, seda ma ei salga.

¹²Behold, all ye yourselves have seen it; Why then are ye become altogether vain?

¹²Vaata, te kõik olete ise seda näinud, mispärast te siis lobisete tühja?

¹³This is the portion of a wicked man with God, And the heritage of oppressors, which they receive from the Almighty:

¹³See on õela inimese osa Jumala juures, ja pärisosa, mille vägivalla teostajad saavad Kõigevägevamalt:

¹⁴If his children be multiplied, it is for the sword; And his offspring shall not be satisfied with bread.

¹⁴kui tal on palju lapsi, siis on need mõõga jaoks, ja tema järglastel ei ole küllalt leiba.

¹⁵Those that remain of him shall be buried in death, And his widows shall make no lamentation.

¹⁵Kes temale järele jäävad, need matab katk, ja ta lesknaised ei saa neid taga nutta.

¹⁶Though he heap up silver as the dust, And prepare raiment as the clay;

¹⁶Kui ta hõbedat kokku kuhjab nagu põrmu ja riideid varub nagu savi,

¹⁷He may prepare it, but the just shall put it on, And the innocent shall divide the silver.

¹⁷siis varugu; aga õige paneb need selga ja süütu pärib hõbeda.

¹⁸He buildeth his house as the moth, And as a booth which the keeper maketh.

¹⁸Ta ehitab oma koja riidekoi eeskujul, hüti sarnaselt, mille vahimees teeb.

¹⁹He lieth down rich, but he shall not be gathered [to his fathers]; He openeth his eyes, and he is not.

¹⁹Rikas on ta magama heites, kuid mitte kauem; kui ta silmad avab, siis ei ole tal enam midagi.

²⁰Terrors overtake him like waters; A tempest stealeth him away in the night.

²⁰Suur hirm saab ta kätte nagu voolas vesi ja öösel viib tuulekeeris ta kaasa.

²¹The east wind carrieth him away, and he departeth; And it sweepeth him out of his place.

²¹Idatuul tõstab ta üles ja ta läheb - see pühib ta ära tema asupaigast.

²²For [God] shall hurl at him, and not spare: He would fain flee out of his hand.

²²Tema peale visatakse ilma armuta kive ja ta peab põgenema nende käe eest.

²³Men shall clap their hands at him, And shall hiss him out of his place.

²³Tema pärast plaksutatakse käsi, ja paigast, kus ta asus, vilistatakse temale järele.
