¹Dare any of you, having a matter against his neighbor, go to law before the unrighteous, and not before the saints?

¹Quelqu'un de vous, lorsqu'il a un différend avec un autre, ose-t-il plaider devant les injustes, et non devant les saints?

¹היש בכם איש אשר בריבו עם רעהו יזיד להביא דבר דינו לפני הרשעים ולא לפני הקדשים׃

²Or know ye not that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world is judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?

²Ne savez-vous pas que les saints jugeront le monde? Et si c'est par vous que le monde est jugé, êtes-vous indignes de rendre les moindres jugements?

²הלא ידעתם כי הקדשים ידינו את העולם ואם העולם ידון על ידכם האינכם ראוים לדין דינים קטנים׃

³Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more, things that pertain to this life?

³Ne savez-vous pas que nous jugerons les anges? Et nous ne jugerions pas, à plus forte raison, les choses de cette vie?

³הלא ידעתם כי נדין את המלאכים אף כי דברי ממונות׃

⁴If then ye have to judge things pertaining to this life, do ye set them to judge who are of no account in the church?

⁴Quand donc vous avez des différends pour les choses de cette vie, ce sont des gens dont l'Eglise ne fait aucun cas que vous prenez pour juges!

⁴ואתם כאשר יש לכם דיני ממונות מושיבים אתם את הנחשבים לאין בקהל לשפטיכם׃

⁵I say [this] to move you to shame. What, cannot there be [found] among you one wise man who shall be able to decide between his brethren,

⁵Je le dis à votre honte. Ainsi il n'y a parmi vous pas un seul homme sage qui puisse prononcer entre ses frères.

⁵לבשתכם אמר אני את זאת הכי אין בכם חכם אחד שיוכל להוכיח בין איש לאחיו׃

⁶but brother goeth to law with brother, and that before unbelievers?

⁶Mais un frère plaide contre un frère, et cela devant des infidèles!

⁶כי אח רב עם אחיו וזאת לפני לא מאמינים׃

⁷Nay, already it is altogether a defect in you, that ye have lawsuits one with another. Why not rather take wrong? why not rather be defrauded?

⁷C'est déjà certes un défaut chez vous que d'avoir des procès les uns avec les autres. Pourquoi ne souffrez-vous pas plutôt quelque injustice? Pourquoi ne vous laissez-vous pas plutôt dépouiller?

⁷הן בכל ירידה היא לכם שתריבו זה עם זה למה לא תבחרו לסבל הונאה ולמה לא תבחרו להיות עשוקים׃

⁸Nay, but ye yourselves do wrong, and defraud, and that [your] brethren.

⁸Mais c'est vous qui commettez l'injustice et qui dépouillez, et c'est envers des frères que vous agissez de la sorte!

⁸אבל מונים אתם ועשקים אף את אחיכם׃

⁹Or know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with men,

⁹Ne savez-vous pas que les injustes n'hériteront point le royaume de Dieu? Ne vous y trompez pas: ni les impudiques, ni les idolâtres, ni les adultères, ni les efféminés, ni les infâmes,

⁹הלא ידעתם כי הרשעים לא יירשו את מלכות האלהים אל תתעו את נפשותיכם לא הזנים לא עבדי אלילים לא המנאפים ולא הקדשים ולא השכבים את זכר׃

¹⁰nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

¹⁰ni les voleurs, ni les cupides, ni les ivrognes, ni les outrageux, ni les ravisseurs, n'hériteront le royaume de Dieu.

¹⁰לא הגנבים ולא בצעי בצע לא הסבאים ולא המגדפים ולא הגזלנים כל אלה לא יירשו את מלכות האלהים׃

¹¹And such were some of you: but ye were washed, but ye were sanctified, but ye were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and in the Spirit of our God.

¹¹Et c'est là ce que vous étiez, quelques-uns de vous. Mais vous avez été lavés, mais vous avez été sanctifiés, mais vous avez été justifiés au nom du Seigneur Jésus-Christ, et par l'Esprit de notre Dieu.

¹¹וכאלה לפנים היו מקצתכם אבל רחצתם אבל קדשתם אבל הצדקתם בשם האדון ישוע וברוח אלהינו׃

¹²All things are lawful for me; but not all things are expedient. All things are lawful for me; but I will not be brought under the power of any.

¹²Tout m'est permis, mais tout n'est pas utile; tout m'est permis, mais je ne me laisserai asservir par quoi que ce soit.

¹²הכל הוא ברשותי אך לא כל דבר יועיל הכל הוא ברשותי אך לא ישעבדני דבר׃

¹³Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall bring to nought both it and them. But the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body:

¹³Les aliments sont pour le ventre, et le ventre pour les aliments; et Dieu détruira l'un comme les autres. Mais le corps n'est pas pour l'impudicité. Il est pour le Seigneur, et le Seigneur pour le corps.

¹³המאכל לכרש והכרש למאכל והאלהים את זה ואת זה ילכה והגוף אל יהי לזנות כי אם לאדון והאדון לגוף׃

¹⁴and God both raised the Lord, and will raise up as through his power.

¹⁴Et Dieu, qui a ressuscité le Seigneur, nous ressuscitera aussi par sa puissance.

¹⁴והאלהים העיר גם את אדנינו ויעיר גם אתכם בגבורתו׃

¹⁵Know ye not that your bodies are members of Christ? shall I then take away the members of Christ, and make them members of a harlot? God forbid.

¹⁵Ne savez-vous pas que vos corps sont des membres de Christ? Prendrai-je donc les membres de Christ, pour en faire les membres d'une prostituée? Loin de là!

¹⁵הלא ידעתם כי גופתיכם אברי המשיח הנה הכי אקח את אברי המשיח ואעשה אתם לאברי זונה חלילה׃

¹⁶Or know ye not that he that is joined to a harlot is one body? for, The twain, saith he, shall become one flesh.

¹⁶Ne savez-vous pas que celui qui s'attache à la prostituée est un seul corps avec elle? Car, est-il dit, les deux deviendront une seule chair.

¹⁶או הלא ידעתם כי הדבק בזונה גוף אחד הוא עמה כי הכתוב אמר והיו שניהם לבשר אחד׃

¹⁷But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

¹⁷Mais celui qui s'attache au Seigneur est avec lui un seul esprit.

¹⁷אבל הדבק באדון רוח אחד הוא עמו׃

¹⁸Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

¹⁸Fuyez l'impudicité. Quelque autre péché qu'un homme commette, ce péché est hors du corps; mais celui qui se livre à l'impudicité pèche contre son propre corps.

¹⁸נוסו מן הזנות כל חטא אשר יעשה אותו האדם מחוץ לגופו הוא והזונה חטא בעצם גופו׃

¹⁹Or know ye not that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which ye have from God? and ye are not your own;

¹⁹Ne savez-vous pas que votre corps est le temple du Saint-Esprit qui est en vous, que vous avez reçu de Dieu, et que vous ne vous appartenez point à vous-mêmes?

¹⁹או הלא ידעתם כי גופכם הוא היכל רוח הקדש השכן בקרבכם אשר קבלתם מאת האלהים וכי לא לעצמכם אתם׃

²⁰for ye were bought with a price: glorify God therefore in your body.

²⁰Car vous avez été rachetés à un grand prix. Glorifiez donc Dieu dans votre corps et dans votre esprit, qui appartiennent à Dieu.

²⁰כי במחיר נקניתם על כן כבדו את האלהים בגופכם וברוחכם אשר לאלהים המה׃
