1The elders among you I exhort, who am a fellow-elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, who am also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed:
1Voici les exhortations que j'adresse aux anciens qui sont parmi vous, moi ancien comme eux, témoin des souffrances de Christ, et participant de la gloire qui doit être manifestée:
1את הזקנים אשר בקרבכם אזהיר אנכי עמיתם הזקן ועד ענויי המשיח וגם חבר לכבוד העתיד להגלות׃
2Tend the flock of God which is among you, exercising the oversight, not of constraint, but willingly, according to [the will of] God; nor yet for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;
2Paissez le troupeau de Dieu qui est sous votre garde, non par contrainte, mais volontairement, selon Dieu; non pour un gain sordide, mais avec dévouement;
2רעו את עדר האלהים אשר בידכם והשגיחו עליהם לא באנס כי אם בנדבה אף לא עקב בצע כי אם בנפש חפצה׃
3neither as lording it over the charge allotted to you, but making yourselves ensamples to the flock.
3non comme dominant sur ceux qui vous sont échus en partage, mais en étant les modèles du troupeau.
3גם לא כמתעמרים בנחלת יהוה כי אם בהיותכם מופת לצאן׃
4And when the chief Shepherd shall be manifested, ye shall receive the crown of glory that fadeth not away.
4Et lorsque le souverain pasteur paraîtra, vous obtiendrez la couronne incorruptible de la gloire.
4והיה בהגלות שר הרעים תשאו עטרת הכבוד אשר לא תבל׃
5Likewise, ye younger, be subject unto the elder. Yea, all of you gird yourselves with humility, to serve one another: for God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace to the humble.
5De même, vous qui êtes jeunes, soyez soumis aux anciens. Et tous, dans vos rapports mutuels, revêtez-vous d'humilité; car Dieu résiste aux orgueilleux, Mais il fait grâce aux humbles.
5וכן גם אתם הנערים הכנעו לפני הזקנים וחגרו כלכם שפלות רוח בהכנע איש לרעהו כי אלהים ללצים יליץ ולענוים יתן חן׃
6Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time;
6Humiliez-vous donc sous la puissante main de Dieu, afin qu'il vous élève au temps convenable;
6השפילו נפשכם תחת יד אלהים החזקה למען ירומם אתכם בעתו׃
7casting all your anxiety upon him, because he careth for you.
7et déchargez-vous sur lui de tous vos soucis, car lui-même prend soin de vous.
7השליכו עליו כל יהבכם כי הוא ידאג לכם׃
8Be sober, be watchful: your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour,
8Soyez sobres, veillez. Votre adversaire, le diable, rôde comme un lion rugissant, cherchant qui il dévorera.
8התעוררו שקדו כי מריבכם השטן משוטט כאריה שאג ומבקש את אשר יבלע׃
9whom withstand stedfast in your faith, knowing that the same sufferings are accomplished in your brethren who are in the world.
9Résistez-lui avec une foi ferme, sachant que les mêmes souffrances sont imposées à vos frères dans le monde.
9ועמדתם נגדו חזקים באמונה ודעו כי ענוים כאלה באו גם על אחיכם אשר בעולם׃
10And the God of all grace, who called you unto his eternal glory in Christ, after that ye have suffered a little while, shall himself perfect, establish, strengthen you.
10Le Dieu de toute grâce, qui vous a appelés en Jésus-Christ à sa gloire éternelle, après que vous aurez souffert un peu de temps, vous perfectionnera lui-même, vous affermira, vous fortifiera, vous rendra inébranlables.
10ואלהי כל החסד אשר קראנו לכבודו הנצחי במשיח ישוע אחרי ענותכם מעט הוא ישלים ויחזק ויגבר וייסד אתכם׃
11To him [be] the dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
11A lui soit la puissance aux siècles des siècles! Amen!
11לו הכבוד והעז לעולמי עולמים אמן׃
12By Silvanus, our faithful brother, as I account [him], I have written unto you briefly, exhorting, and testifying that this is the true grace of God. Stand ye fast therein.
12C'est par Silvain, qui est à mes yeux un frère fidèle, que je vous écris ce peu de mots, pour vous exhorter et pour vous attester que la grâce de Dieu à laquelle vous êtes attachés est la véritable.
12ביד סלונוס האח הנאמן לכם כאשר אחשב כתבתי אליכם בדברים מעטים להזהיר אתכם ולהעיד כי חסד האלהים הזה אשר עמדתם בו אמת הוא׃
13She that is in Babylon, elect together with [you], saluteth you; and [so doth] Mark my son.
13L'Eglise des élus qui est à Babylone vous salue, ainsi que Marc, mon fils.
13חברתכם אשר בבבל הנבחרה אתכם ומרקוס בני שאלים לשלומכם׃
14Salute one another with a kiss of love. Peace be unto you all that are in Christ.
14Saluez-vous les uns les autres par un baiser d'affection. Que la paix soit avec vous tous qui êtes en Christ!
