1Then Solomon began to build the house of Jehovah at Jerusalem on mount Moriah, where [Jehovah] appeared unto David his father, which he made ready in the place that David had appointed, in the threshing-floor of Ornan the Jebusite.

1ויחל שלמה לבנות את בית יהוה בירושלם בהר המוריה אשר נראה לדויד אביהו אשר הכין במקום דויד בגרן ארנן היבוסי׃
2And he began to build in the second [day] of the second month, in the fourth year of his reign.
2Il commença à bâtir le second jour du second mois de la quatrième année de son règne.
2ויחל לבנות בחדש השני בשני בשנת ארבע למלכותו׃
3Now these are the foundations which Solomon laid for the building of the house of God. The length by cubits after the first measure was threescore cubits, and the breadth twenty cubits.
3Voici sur quels fondements Salomon bâtit la maison de Dieu. La longueur en coudées de l'ancienne mesure était de soixante coudées, et la largeur de vingt coudées.
3ואלה הוסד שלמה לבנות את בית האלהים הארך אמות במדה הראשונה אמות ששים ורחב אמות עשרים׃
4And the porch that was before [the house], the length of it, according to the breadth of the house, was twenty cubits, and the height a hundred and twenty; and he overlaid it within with pure gold.
4Le portique sur le devant avait vingt coudées de longueur, répondant à la largeur de la maison, et cent vingt de hauteur; Salomon le couvrit intérieurement d'or pur.
4והאולם אשר על פני הארך על פני רחב הבית אמות עשרים והגבה מאה ועשרים ויצפהו מפנימה זהב טהור׃
5And the greater house he ceiled with fir-wood, which he overlaid with fine gold, and wrought thereon palm-trees and chains.
5Il revêtit de bois de cyprès la grande maison, la couvrit d'or pur, et y fit sculpter des palmes et des chaînettes.
5ואת הבית הגדול חפה עץ ברושים ויחפהו זהב טוב ויעל עליו תמרים ושרשרות׃
6And he garnished the house with precious stones for beauty: and the gold was gold of Parvaim.
6Il couvrit la maison de pierres précieuses comme ornement; et l'or était de l'or de Parvaïm.
6ויצף את הבית אבן יקרה לתפארת והזהב זהב פרוים׃
7He overlaid also the house, the beams, the thresholds, and the walls thereof, and the doors thereof, with gold; and graved cherubim on the walls.
7Il couvrit d'or la maison, les poutres, les seuils, les parois et les battants des portes, et il fit sculpter des chérubins sur les parois.
7ויחף את הבית הקרות הספים וקירותיו ודלתותיו זהב ופתח כרובים על הקירות׃
8And he made the most holy house: the length thereof, according to the breadth of the house, was twenty cubits, and the breadth thereof twenty cubits; and he overlaid it with fine gold, amounting to six hundred talents.
8Il fit la maison du lieu très saint; elle avait vingt coudées de longueur répondant à la largeur de la maison, et vingt coudées de largeur. Il la couvrit d'or pur, pour une valeur de six cents talents;
8ויעש את בית קדש הקדשים ארכו על פני רחב הבית אמות עשרים ורחבו אמות עשרים ויחפהו זהב טוב לככרים שש מאות׃
9And the weight of the nails was fifty shekels of gold. And he overlaid the upper chambers with gold.
9et le poids de l'or pour les clous montait à cinquante sicles. Il couvrit aussi d'or les chambres hautes.
9ומשקל למסמרות לשקלים חמשים זהב והעליות חפה זהב׃
10And in the most holy house he made two cherubim of image work; and they overlaid them with gold.
10Il fit dans la maison du lieu très saint deux chérubins sculptés, et on les couvrit d'or.
10ויעש בבית קדש הקדשים כרובים שנים מעשה צעצעים ויצפו אתם זהב׃
11And the wings of the cherubim were twenty cubits long: the wing of the one [cherub] was five cubits, reaching to the wall of the house; and the other wing was [likewise] five cubits, reaching to the wing of the other cherub.
11Les ailes des chérubins avaient vingt coudées de longueur. L'aile du premier, longue de cinq coudées, touchait au mur de la maison; et l'autre aile, longue de cinq coudées, touchait à l'aile du second chérubin.
11וכנפי הכרובים ארכם אמות עשרים כנף האחד לאמות חמש מגעת לקיר הבית והכנף האחרת אמות חמש מגיע לכנף הכרוב האחר׃
12And the wing of the other cherub was five cubits, reaching to the wall of the house; and the other wing was five cubits [also], joining to the wing of the other cherub.
12L'aile du second chérubin, longue de cinq coudées, touchait au mur de la maison; et l'autre aile, longue de cinq coudées, joignait l'aile du premier chérubin.
12וכנף הכרוב האחד אמות חמש מגיע לקיר הבית והכנף האחרת אמות חמש דבקה לכנף הכרוב האחר׃
13The wings of these cherubim spread themselves forth twenty cubits: and they stood on their feet, and their faces were toward the house.
13Les ailes de ces chérubins, déployées, avaient vingt coudées. Ils étaient debout sur leurs pieds, la face tournée vers la maison.
13כנפי הכרובים האלה פרשים אמות עשרים והם עמדים על רגליהם ופניהם לבית׃
14And he made the veil of blue, and purple, and crimson, and fine linen, and wrought cherubim thereon.
14Il fit le voile bleu, pourpre et cramoisi, et de byssus, et il y représenta des chérubins.
14ויעש את הפרכת תכלת וארגמן וכרמיל ובוץ ויעל עליו כרובים׃
15Also he made before the house two pillars of thirty and five cubits high, and the capital that was on the top of each of them was five cubits.
15Il fit devant la maison deux colonnes de trente-cinq coudées de hauteur, avec un chapiteau de cinq coudées sur leur sommet.
15ויעש לפני הבית עמודים שנים אמות שלשים וחמש ארך והצפת אשר על ראשו אמות חמש׃
16And he made chains in the oracle, and put [them] on the tops of the pillars; and he made a hundred pomegranates, and put them on the chains.
16Il fit des chaînettes comme celles qui étaient dans le sanctuaire, et les plaça sur le sommet des colonnes, et il fit cent grenades qu'il mit dans les chaînettes.
16ויעש שרשרות בדביר ויתן על ראש העמדים ויעש רמונים מאה ויתן בשרשרות׃
17And he set up the pillars before the temple, one on the right hand, and the other on the left; and called the name of that on the right hand Jachin, and the name of that on the left Boaz.
17Il dressa les colonnes sur le devant du temple, l'une à droite et l'autre à gauche; il nomma celle de droite Jakin, et celle de gauche Boaz.
17ויקם את העמודים על פני ההיכל אחד מימין ואחד מהשמאול ויקרא שם הימיני יכין ושם השמאלי בעז׃
