¹Now when all this was finished, all Israel that were present went out to the cities of Judah, and brake in pieces the pillars, and hewed down the Asherim, and brake down the high places and the altars out of all Judah and Benjamin, in Ephraim also and Manasseh, until they had destroyed them all. Then all the children of Israel returned, every man to his possession, into their own cities.

¹Lorsque tout cela fut terminé, tous ceux d'Israël qui étaient présents partirent pour les villes de Juda, et ils brisèrent les statues, abattirent les idoles, et renversèrent entièrement les hauts lieux et les autels dans tout Juda et Benjamin et dans Ephraïm et Manassé. Puis tous les enfants d'Israël retournèrent dans leurs villes, chacun dans sa propriété.

¹וככלות כל זאת יצאו כל ישראל הנמצאים לערי יהודה וישברו המצבות ויגדעו האשרים וינתצו את הבמות ואת המזבחת מכל יהודה ובנימן ובאפרים ומנשה עד לכלה וישובו כל בני ישראל איש לאחזתו לעריהם׃

²And Hezekiah appointed the courses of the priests and the Levites after their courses, every man according to his service, both the priests and the Levites, for burnt-offerings and for peace-offerings, to minister, and to give thanks, and to praise in the gates of the camp of Jehovah.

²Ezéchias rétablit les classes des sacrificateurs et des Lévites d'après leurs divisions, chacun selon ses fonctions, sacrificateurs et Lévites, pour les holocaustes et les sacrifices d'actions de grâces, pour le service, pour les chants et les louanges, aux portes du camp de l'Eternel.

²ויעמד יחזקיהו את מחלקות הכהנים והלוים על מחלקותם איש כפי עבדתו לכהנים וללוים לעלה ולשלמים לשרת ולהדות ולהלל בשערי מחנות יהוה׃

³[He appointed] also the king's portion of his substance for the burnt-offerings, [to wit], for the morning and evening burnt-offerings, and the burnt-offerings for the sabbaths, and for the new moons, and for the set feasts, as it is written in the law of Jehovah.

³Le roi donna une portion de ses biens pour les holocaustes, pour les holocaustes du matin et du soir, et pour les holocaustes des sabbats, des nouvelles lunes et des fêtes, comme il est écrit dans la loi de l'Eternel.

³ומנת המלך מן רכושו לעלות לעלות הבקר והערב והעלות לשבתות ולחדשים ולמעדים ככתוב בתורת יהוה׃

⁴Moreover he commanded the people that dwelt in Jerusalem to give the portion of the priests and the Levites, that they might give themselves to the law of Jehovah.

⁴Et il dit au peuple, aux habitants de Jérusalem, de donner la portion des sacrificateurs et des Lévites, afin qu'ils observassent fidèlement la loi de l'Eternel.

⁴ויאמר לעם ליושבי ירושלם לתת מנת הכהנים והלוים למען יחזקו בתורת יהוה׃

⁵And as soon as the commandment came abroad, the children of Israel gave in abundance the first-fruits of grain, new wine, and oil, and honey, and of all the increase of the field; and the tithe of all things brought they in abundantly.

⁵Lorsque la chose fut répandue, les enfants d'Israël donnèrent en abondance les prémices du blé, du moût, de l'huile, du miel, et de tous les produits des champs; ils apportèrent aussi en abondance la dîme de tout.

⁵וכפרץ הדבר הרבו בני ישראל ראשית דגן תירוש ויצהר ודבש וכל תבואת שדה ומעשר הכל לרב הביאו׃

⁶And the children of Israel and Judah, that dwelt in the cities of Judah, they also brought in the tithe of oxen and sheep, and the tithe of dedicated things which were consecrated unto Jehovah their God, and laid them by heaps.

⁶De même, les enfants d'Israël et de Juda qui demeuraient dans les villes de Juda donnèrent la dîme du gros et du menu bétail, et la dîme des choses saintes qui étaient consacrées à l'Eternel, leur Dieu, et dont on fit plusieurs tas.

⁶ובני ישראל ויהודה היושבים בערי יהודה גם הם מעשר בקר וצאן ומעשר קדשים המקדשים ליהוה אלהיהם הביאו ויתנו ערמות ערמות׃

⁷In the third month they began to lay the foundation of the heaps, and finished them in the seventh month.

⁷On commença à former les tas au troisième mois, et l'on acheva au septième mois.

⁷בחדש השלשי החלו הערמות ליסוד ובחדש השביעי כלו׃

⁸And when Hezekiah and the princes came and saw the heaps, they blessed Jehovah, and his people Israel.

⁸Ezéchias et les chefs vinrent voir les tas, et ils bénirent l'Eternel et son peuple d'Israël.

⁸ויבאו יחזקיהו והשרים ויראו את הערמות ויברכו את יהוה ואת עמו ישראל׃

⁹Then Hezekiah questioned the priests and the Levites concerning the heaps.

⁹Et Ezéchias interrogea les sacrificateurs et les Lévites au sujet de ces tas.

⁹וידרש יחזקיהו על הכהנים והלוים על הערמות׃

¹⁰And Azariah the chief priest, of the house of Zadok, answered him and said, Since [the people] began to bring the oblations into the house of Jehovah, we have eaten and had enough, and have left plenty: for Jehovah hath blessed his people; and that which is left is this great store.

¹⁰Alors le souverain sacrificateur Azaria, de la maison de Tsadok, lui répondit: Depuis qu'on a commencé d'apporter les offrandes dans la maison de l'Eternel, nous avons mangé, nous nous sommes rassasiés, et nous en avons beaucoup laissé, car l'Eternel a béni son peuple; et voici la grande quantité qu'il y a de reste.

¹⁰ויאמר אליו עזריהו הכהן הראש לבית צדוק ויאמר מהחל התרומה לביא בית יהוה אכול ושבוע והותר עד לרוב כי יהוה ברך את עמו והנותר את ההמון הזה׃

¹¹Then Hezekiah commanded to prepare chambers in the house of Jehovah; and they prepared them.

¹¹Ezéchias donna l'ordre de préparer des chambres dans la maison de l'Eternel; et on les prépara.

¹¹ויאמר יחזקיהו להכין לשכות בבית יהוה ויכינו׃

¹²And they brought in the oblations and the tithes and the dedicated things faithfully: and over them Conaniah the Levite was ruler, and Shimei his brother was second.

¹²On y apporta fidèlement les offrandes, la dîme, et les choses saintes. Le Lévite Conania en eut l'intendance, et son frère Schimeï était en second.

¹²ויביאו את התרומה והמעשר והקדשים באמונה ועליהם נגיד כונניהו הלוי ושמעי אחיהו משנה׃

¹³And Jehiel, and Azaziah, and Nahath, and Asahel, and Jerimoth, and Jozabad, and Eliel, and Ismachiah, and Mahath, and Benaiah, were overseers under the hand of Conaniah and Shimei his brother, by the appointment of Hezekiah the king, and Azariah the ruler of the house of God.

¹³Jehiel, Azazia, Nachath, Asaël, Jerimoth, Jozabad, Eliel, Jismakia, Machath et Benaja étaient employés sous la direction de Conania et de son frère Schimeï, d'après l'ordre du roi Ezéchias, et d'Azaria, chef de la maison de Dieu.

¹³ויחיאל ועזזיהו ונחת ועשהאל וירימות ויוזבד ואליאל ויסמכיהו ומחת ובניהו פקידים מיד כונניהו ושמעי אחיו במפקד יחזקיהו המלך ועזריהו נגיד בית האלהים׃

¹⁴And Kore the son of Imnah the Levite, the porter at the east [gate], was over the freewill-offerings of God, to distribute the oblations of Jehovah, and the most holy things.

¹⁴Le Lévite Koré, fils de Jimna, portier de l'orient, avait l'intendance des dons volontaires faits à Dieu, pour distribuer ce qui était présenté à l'Eternel par élévation et les choses très saintes.

¹⁴וקורא בן ימנה הלוי השוער למזרחה על נדבות האלהים לתת תרומת יהוה וקדשי הקדשים׃

¹⁵And under him were Eden, and Miniamin, and Jeshua, and Shemaiah, Amariah, and Shecaniah, in the cities of the priests, in their office of trust, to give to their brethren by courses, as well to the great as to the small:

¹⁵Dans les villes sacerdotales, Eden, Minjamin, Josué, Schemaeja, Amaria et Schecania étaient placés sous sa direction pour faire fidèlement les distributions à leurs frères, grands et petits, selon leurs divisions:

¹⁵ועל ידו עדן ומנימן וישוע ושמעיהו אמריהו ושכניהו בערי הכהנים באמונה לתת לאחיהם במחלקות כגדול כקטן׃

¹⁶besides them that were reckoned by genealogy of males, from three years old and upward, even every one that entered into the house of Jehovah, as the duty of every day required, for their service in their offices according to their courses;

¹⁶aux mâles enregistrés depuis l'âge de trois ans et au-dessus; à tous ceux qui entraient journellement dans la maison de l'Eternel pour faire leur service selon leurs fonctions et selon leurs divisions;

¹⁶מלבד התיחשם לזכרים מבן שלוש שנים ולמעלה לכל הבא לבית יהוה לדבר יום ביומו לעבודתם במשמרותם כמחלקותיהם׃

¹⁷and them that were reckoned by genealogy of the priests by their fathers' houses, and the Levites from twenty years old and upward, in their offices by their courses;

¹⁷aux sacrificateurs enregistrés d'après leurs maisons paternelles, et aux Lévites de vingt ans et au-dessus, selon leurs fonctions et selon leurs divisions;

¹⁷ואת התיחש הכהנים לבית אבותיהם והלוים מבן עשרים שנה ולמעלה במשמרותיהם במחלקותיהם׃

¹⁸and them that were reckoned by genealogy of all their little ones, their wives, and their sons, and their daughters, through all the congregation: for in their office of trust they sanctified themselves in holiness.

¹⁸ceux de toute l'assemblée enregistrés avec tous leurs petits enfants, leurs femmes, leurs fils et leurs filles, car ils se consacraient fidèlement au service du sanctuaire.

¹⁸ולהתיחש בכל טפם נשיהם ובניהם ובנותיהם לכל קהל כי באמונתם יתקדשו קדש׃

¹⁹Also for the sons of Aaron the priests, that were in the fields of the suburbs of their cities, in every city, there were men that were mentioned by name, to give portions to all the males among the priests, and to all that were reckoned by genealogy among the Levites.

¹⁹Et pour les fils d'Aaron, les sacrificateurs, qui demeuraient à la campagne dans les banlieues de leurs villes, il y avait dans chaque ville des hommes désignés par leurs noms pour distribuer les portions à tous les mâles des sacrificateurs et à tous les Lévites enregistrés.

¹⁹ולבני אהרן הכהנים בשדי מגרש עריהם בכל עיר ועיר אנשים אשר נקבו בשמות לתת מנות לכל זכר בכהנים ולכל התיחש בלוים׃

²⁰And thus did Hezekiah throughout all Judah; and he wrought that which was good and right and faithful before Jehovah his God.

²⁰Voilà ce que fit Ezéchias dans tout Juda; il fit ce qui est bien, ce qui est droit, ce qui est vrai, devant l'Eternel, son Dieu.

²⁰ויעש כזאת יחזקיהו בכל יהודה ויעש הטוב והישר והאמת לפני יהוה אלהיו׃

²¹And in every work that he began in the service of the house of God, and in the law, and in the commandments, to seek his God, he did it with all his heart, and prospered.

²¹Il agit de tout son coeur, et il réussit dans tout ce qu'il entreprit, en recherchant son Dieu, pour le service de la maison de Dieu, pour la loi et pour les commandements.

²¹ובכל מעשה אשר החל בעבודת בית האלהים ובתורה ובמצוה לדרש לאלהיו בכל לבבו עשה והצליח׃
