1And Josiah kept a passover unto Jehovah in Jerusalem: and they killed the passover on the fourteenth [day] of the first month.
1Josias célébra la Pâque en l'honneur de l'Eternel à Jérusalem, et l'on immola la Pâque le quatorzième jour du premier mois.
1ויעש יאשיהו בירושלם פסח ליהוה וישחטו הפסח בארבעה עשר לחדש הראשון׃
2And he set the priests in their offices, and encouraged them to the service of the house of Jehovah.
2Il établit les sacrificateurs dans leurs fonctions, et les encouragea au service de la maison de l'Eternel.
2ויעמד הכהנים על משמרותם ויחזקם לעבודת בית יהוה׃
3And he said unto the Levites that taught all Israel, that were holy unto Jehovah, Put the holy ark in the house which Solomon the son of David king of Israel did build; there shall no more be a burden upon your shoulders: now serve Jehovah your God, and his people Israel.
3Il dit aux Lévites qui enseignaient tout Israël et qui étaient consacrés à l'Eternel: Placez l'arche sainte dans la maison qu'a bâtie Salomon, fils de David, roi d'Israël; vous n'avez plus à la porter sur l'épaule. Servez maintenant l'Eternel, votre Dieu, et son peuple d'Israël.
3ויאמר ללוים המבונים לכל ישראל הקדושים ליהוה תנו את ארון הקדש בבית אשר בנה שלמה בן דויד מלך ישראל אין לכם משא בכתף עתה עבדו את יהוה אלהיכם ואת עמו ישראל׃
4And prepare yourselves after your fathers' houses by your courses, according to the writing of David king of Israel, and according to the writing of Solomon his son.
4Tenez-vous prêts, selon vos maisons paternelles, selon vos divisions, comme l'ont réglé par écrit David, roi d'Israël, et Salomon, son fils;
4והכונו לבית אבותיכם כמחלקותיכם בכתב דויד מלך ישראל ובמכתב שלמה בנו׃
5And stand in the holy place according to the divisions of the fathers' houses of your brethren the children of the people, and [let there be for each] a portion of a fathers' house of the Levites.
5occupez vos places dans le sanctuaire, d'après les différentes maisons paternelles de vos frères les fils du peuple, et d'après la classification des maisons paternelles des Lévites.
5ועמדו בקדש לפלגות בית האבות לאחיכם בני העם וחלקת בית אב ללוים׃
6And kill the passover, and sanctify yourselves, and prepare for your brethren, to do according to the word of Jehovah by Moses.
6Immolez la Pâque, sanctifiez-vous, et préparez-la pour vos frères, en vous conformant à la parole de l'Eternel prononcée par Moïse.
6ושחטו הפסח והתקדשו והכינו לאחיכם לעשות כדבר יהוה ביד משה׃
7And Josiah gave to the children of the people, of the flock, lambs and kids, all of them for the passover-offerings, unto all that were present, to the number of thirty thousand, and three thousand bullocks: these were of the king's substance.
7Josias donna aux gens du peuple, à tous ceux qui se trouvaient là, des agneaux et des chevreaux au nombre de trente mille, le tout pour la Pâque, et trois mille boeufs; cela fut pris sur les biens du roi.
7וירם יאשיהו לבני העם צאן כבשים ובני עזים הכל לפסחים לכל הנמצא למספר שלשים אלף ובקר שלשת אלפים אלה מרכוש המלך׃
8And his princes gave for a freewill-offering unto the people, to the priests, and to the Levites. Hilkiah and Zechariah and Jehiel, the rulers of the house of God, gave unto the priests for the passover-offerings two thousand and six hundred [small cattle], and three hundred oxen.
8Ses chefs firent de bon gré un présent au peuple, aux sacrificateurs et aux Lévites. Hilkija, Zacharie, et Jehiel, princes de la maison de Dieu, donnèrent aux sacrificateurs pour la Pâque deux mille six cents agneaux et trois cents boeufs.
8ושריו לנדבה לעם לכהנים וללוים הרימו חלקיה וזכריהו ויחיאל נגידי בית האלהים לכהנים נתנו לפסחים אלפים ושש מאות ובקר שלש מאות׃
9Conaniah also, and Shemaiah and Nethanel, his brethren, and Hashabiah and Jeiel and Jozabad, the chiefs of the Levites, gave unto the Levites for the passover-offerings five thousand [small cattle], and five hundred oxen.
9Conania, Schemaeja et Nethaneel, ses frères, Haschabia, Jeïel et Jozabad, chefs des Lévites, donnèrent aux Lévites pour la Pâque cinq mille agneaux et cinq cents boeufs.
9וכונניהו ושמעיהו ונתנאל אחיו וחשביהו ויעיאל ויוזבד שרי הלוים הרימו ללוים לפסחים חמשת אלפים ובקר חמש מאות׃
10So the service was prepared, and the priests stood in their place, and the Levites by their courses, according to the king's commandment.
10Le service s'organisa, et les sacrificateurs et les Lévites occupèrent leur place, selon leurs divisions, d'après l'ordre du roi.
10ותכון העבודה ויעמדו הכהנים על עמדם והלוים על מחלקותם כמצות המלך׃
11And they killed the passover, and the priests sprinkled [the blood which they received] of their hand, and the Levites flayed them.
11Ils immolèrent la Pâque; les sacrificateurs répandirent le sang qu'ils recevaient de la main des Lévites, et les Lévites dépouillèrent les victimes.
11וישחטו הפסח ויזרקו הכהנים מידם והלוים מפשיטים׃
12And they removed the burnt-offerings, that they might give them according to the divisions of the fathers' houses of the children of the people, to offer unto Jehovah, as it is written in the book of Moses. And so did they with the oxen.
12Ils mirent à part les holocaustes pour les donner aux différentes maisons paternelles des gens du peuple, afin qu'ils les offrissent à l'Eternel, comme il est écrit dans le livre de Moïse; et de même pour les boeufs.
12ויסירו העלה לתתם למפלגות לבית אבות לבני העם להקריב ליהוה ככתוב בספר משה וכן לבקר׃
13And they roasted the passover with fire according to the ordinance: and the holy offerings boiled they in pots, and in caldrons, and in pans, and carried them quickly to all the children of the people.
13Ils firent cuire la Pâque au feu, selon l'ordonnance, et ils firent cuire les choses saintes dans des chaudières, des chaudrons et des poêles; et ils s'empressèrent de les distribuer à tout le peuple.
13ויבשלו הפסח באש כמשפט והקדשים בשלו בסירות ובדודים ובצלחות ויריצו לכל בני העם׃
14And afterward they prepared for themselves, and for the priests, because the priests the sons of Aaron [were busied] in offering the burnt-offerings and the fat until night: therefore the Levites prepared for themselves, and for the priests the sons of Aaron.
14Ensuite ils préparèrent ce qui était pour eux et pour les sacrificateurs, car les sacrificateurs, fils d'Aaron, furent occupés jusqu'à la nuit à offrir les holocaustes et les graisses; c'est pourquoi les Lévites préparèrent pour eux et pour les sacrificateurs, fils d'Aaron.
14ואחר הכינו להם ולכהנים כי הכהנים בני אהרן בהעלות העולה והחלבים עד לילה והלוים הכינו להם ולכהנים בני אהרן׃
15And the singers the sons of Asaph were in their place, according to the commandment of David, and Asaph, and Heman, and Jeduthun the king's seer; and the porters were at every gate: they needed not to depart from their service; for their brethren the Levites prepared for them.
15Les chantres, fils d'Asaph, étaient à leur place, selon l'ordre de David, d'Asaph, d'Héman, et de Jeduthun le voyant du roi, et les portiers étaient à chaque porte; ils n'eurent pas à se détourner de leur office, car leurs frères les Lévites préparèrent ce qui était pour eux.
15והמשררים בני אסף על מעמדם כמצות דויד ואסף והימן וידתון חוזה המלך והשערים לשער ושער אין להם לסור מעל עבדתם כי אחיהם הלוים הכינו להם׃
16So all the service of Jehovah was prepared the same day, to keep the passover, and to offer burnt-offerings upon the altar of Jehovah, according to the commandment of king Josiah.
16Ainsi fut organisé ce jour-là tout le service de l'Eternel pour faire la Pâque et pour offrir des holocaustes sur l'autel de l'Eternel, d'après l'ordre du roi Josias.
16ותכון כל עבודת יהוה ביום ההוא לעשות הפסח והעלות עלות על מזבח יהוה כמצות המלך יאשיהו׃
17And the children of Israel that were present kept the passover at that time, and the feast of unleavened bread seven days.
17Les enfants d'Israël qui se trouvaient là célébrèrent la Pâque en ce temps et la fête des pains sans levain pendant sept jours.
17ויעשו בני ישראל הנמצאים את הפסח בעת ההיא ואת חג המצות שבעת ימים׃
18And there was no passover like to that kept in Israel from the days of Samuel the prophet; neither did any of the kings of Israel keep such a passover as Josiah kept, and the priests, and the Levites, and all Judah and Israel that were present, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
18Aucune Pâque pareille à celle-là n'avait été célébrée en Israël depuis les jours de Samuel le prophète; et aucun des rois d'Israël n'avait célébré une Pâque pareille à celle que célébrèrent Josias, les sacrificateurs et les Lévites, tout Juda et Israël qui s'y trouvaient, et les habitants de Jérusalem.
18ולא נעשה פסח כמהו בישראל מימי שמואל הנביא וכל מלכי ישראל לא עשו כפסח אשר עשה יאשיהו והכהנים והלוים וכל יהודה וישראל הנמצא ויושבי ירושלם׃
19In the eighteenth year of the reign of Josiah was this passover kept.
19Ce fut la dix-huitième année du règne de Josias que cette Pâque fut célébrée.
19בשמונה עשרה שנה למלכות יאשיהו נעשה הפסח הזה׃
20After all this, when Josiah had prepared the temple, Neco king of Egypt went up to fight against Carchemish by the Euphrates: and Josiah went out against him.
20Après tout cela, après que Josias eut réparé la maison de l'Eternel, Néco, roi d'Egypte, monta pour combattre à Carkemisch sur l'Euphrate. Josias marcha à sa rencontre;
20אחרי כל זאת אשר הכין יאשיהו את הבית עלה נכו מלך מצרים להלחם בכרכמיש על פרת ויצא לקראתו יאשיהו׃
21But he sent ambassadors to him, saying, What have I to do with thee, thou king of Judah? [I come] not against thee this day, but against the house wherewith I have war; and God hath commanded me to make haste: forbear thee from [meddling with] God, who is with me, that he destroy thee not.
21et Néco lui envoya des messagers pour dire: Qu'y a-t-il entre moi et toi, roi de Juda? Ce n'est pas contre toi que je viens aujourd'hui; c'est contre une maison avec laquelle je suis en guerre. Et Dieu m'a dit de me hâter. Ne t'oppose pas à Dieu, qui est avec moi, de peur qu'il ne te détruise.
21וישלח אליו מלאכים לאמר מה לי ולך מלך יהודה לא עליך אתה היום כי אל בית מלחמתי ואלהים אמר לבהלני חדל לך מאלהים אשר עמי ואל ישחיתך׃
22Nevertheless Josiah would not turn his face from him, but disguised himself, that he might fight with him, and hearkened not unto the words of Neco from the mouth of God, and came to fight in the valley of Megiddo.
22Mais Josias ne se détourna point de lui, et il se déguisa pour l'attaquer, sans écouter les paroles de Néco, qui venaient de la bouche de Dieu. Il s'avança pour combattre dans la vallée de Meguiddo.
22ולא הסב יאשיהו פניו ממנו כי להלחם בו התחפש ולא שמע אל דברי נכו מפי אלהים ויבא להלחם בבקעת מגדו׃
23And the archers shot at king Josiah; and the king said to his servants, Have me away; for I am sore wounded.
23Les archers tirèrent sur le roi Josias, et le roi dit à ses serviteurs: Emportez-moi, car je suis gravement blessé.
23וירו הירים למלך יאשיהו ויאמר המלך לעבדיו העבירוני כי החליתי מאד׃
24So his servants took him out of the chariot, and put him in the second chariot that he had, and brought him to Jerusalem; and he died, and was buried in the sepulchres of his fathers. And all Judah and Jerusalem mourned for Josiah.
24Ses serviteurs l'emportèrent du char, le mirent dans un second char qui était à lui, et l'amenèrent à Jérusalem. Il mourut, et fut enterré dans le sépulcre de ses pères. Tout Juda et Jérusalem pleurèrent Josias.
24ויעבירהו עבדיו מן המרכבה וירכיבהו על רכב המשנה אשר לו ויוליכהו ירושלם וימת ויקבר בקברות אבתיו וכל יהודה וירושלם מתאבלים על יאשיהו׃
25And Jeremiah lamented for Josiah: and all the singing men and singing women spake of Josiah in their lamentations unto this day; and they made them an ordinance in Israel: and, behold, they are written in the lamentations.
25Jérémie fit une complainte sur Josias; tous les chanteurs et toutes les chanteuses ont parlé de Josias dans leurs complaintes jusqu'à ce jour, et en ont établi la coutume en Israël. Ces chants sont écrits dans les Complaintes.
25ויקונן ירמיהו על יאשיהו ויאמרו כל השרים והשרות בקינותיהם על יאשיהו עד היום ויתנום לחק על ישראל והנם כתובים על הקינות׃
26Now the rest of the acts of Josiah, and his good deeds, according to that which is written in the law of Jehovah,
26Le reste des actions de Josias, et ses oeuvres de piété, telles que les prescrit la loi de l'Eternel,
26ויתר דברי יאשיהו וחסדיו ככתוב בתורת יהוה׃
27and his acts, first and last, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah.
27ses premières et ses dernières actions, cela est écrit dans le livre des rois d'Israël et de Juda.
27ודבריו הראשנים והאחרנים הנם כתובים על ספר מלכי ישראל ויהודה׃
